Had my first beginner bellydance level 1 class and thought it was so much fun. They had an actual percussionist performing while we were learning. Instructor incorporated the importance of posture with feet alignment and broke down the moves. It was an amazing experience that I signed up for the intro classes beginning in January. Would love to learn more and cant wait to start. They also have a cute boutique upstairs.

Im so happy I found this academy four years ago in LA. As I live in Europe I take Live online classes via Zoom and have become a member for only $19 a month (bargain) you cannot beat this price when you get top class professionals teaching you. I also love that I never miss out on a class as every lesson is recorded, I can always catch up. Stephanya is an amazing teacher, always upbeat, energetic, encouraging with tremendous knowledge in her art, I cannot recommend this academy enough, thank you to Stefanya and her team for all their time and effort continuing to give us motivation & positivity in these crazy times.

This place is amazing! The instructors are not only super-talented, but they pick you up where you’re at, whether you’re experienced or a beginner. Instructor “Sarah Alma” is amazing, and really helps you understand the moves.Great studio & central location. I came here for Arabic style dance classes and was pleased to find that LABA also offers Persian dance classes. Im half Persian, so I have an idea of what Persian dance is but definitely wanted to learn more. To be honest, I was a little bit nervous going to this class but I had the best time there. The class had a mixture of all sorts of people, other Iranians and people from other cultures who didnt have a background in Persian dance. The teacher was so nice and kept everyone on the same page. She kept the class moving a lot and I felt like I got a workout as well. These classes were a blast and I definitely got better over time. The teacher also provided nice choreography at the end of the class. Would recommend to anyone who is interested in Persian dance.

Corina is the best. If we can give her 6 stars, we would. She showed up right on time, was beautifully dressed, her music was terrific and she wowed the crowd. She was an infusion of joy, energy and fun into our Babys party. Everyone absolutely loved her. Even the shyest of people got up and danced with her. She will be our regular entertainer for all parties to come.Hire this lady, it would be your best party decision ever.Thank you so very much Corina !!!

Stevie is great at teaching not only advanced dancers but also beginners because she has much knowledge of dancing and body. She teaches everyone nicely and is very encouraging. This academy offers a lot of stage experiences but not mandatory. The studio is big and has colorful lightings. Also I love her belly yoga. I would recommend everyone to open the door of mid city arts center.

Ive had an amazing experience at L.A. Belly Dance Academy! The teachers are experienced, renowned dancers who have something to offer for all students, from beginners to professional dancers. They are great at breaking down the basic movements, but can also give helpful tips about movement, performance, placement, and choreography for more experienced students in the class. I knew very little about belly dance when I started coming to this school and I feel that Ive learned to much! I especially love the performance opportunities we are given at this school. Weve performed at showcases, in neighborhood festivals, on stage at festivals, and even on TV.

I absolutely LOVE this place and Stevie is the best! She is an amazing instructor and I have learned so much in just a couple of months. The class is very upbeat and friendly. If you are in your 20s or even in your 50s, and you have a passion for belly dancing, dont be afraid to join. It was the best thing I did!

They have really good dance teachers. And a Belly Dance Boutique !! I much prefer shopping for costume pieces in person rather than online !!!

L.A Bellydance Academy has been my first dance class I have taken, I been in Intro Bellydance for some time and I just love it! Sarah and Stephanya always go out their way to make me progress and I am happy to say that I have made a HUGE impact on my moves. It’s a really comfortable and enjoyable environment, there prices are worth it and no doubt you’ll be delighted with the many moves you will learn.

Not only will they take the time to teach you the technicalities if you dont get it the first time, they strive for you to succeed and make you the best you can be! I first saw LA Bellydance Academy’s troupe Mosaique perform at my friends coporate event. They’re costumes were amazing and they knew so many styles! I would highly recommend them for shows. I now take class at the studio at least twice a week- the teachers are amazing and it’s a welcoming environment.

Came in L.A. four years ago with a almost ten years of practice back in my country. Went to few Bellydance classes and was so disappointed. Moved from Westwood to another part of the city and finally went to the L.A. Bellydance Academy!I have been dancing there for a year and a half now and I love it!The instructors provides high quality and high level classes and are very professionals.Stevie is an amazing person, very encouraging; she is currently coaching me for a choreography that I have to present at my school and she is very helpful, motivated, happy and giving.Also Stevie gives to her students a lot of opportunities to perform in front of an audience (festivals, showcases, TV, neighborhood festival) which is awesome because it is only this way that dancers can improve their stage skills and try to let go their fear of being on stage. Oh, and there are classes with live percussions! Really great opportunity to work on rhythms and impros!If you want to have a rigorous and technical training mixed with a lot of fun and great people, this is the place to go. If you are looking for a legit place to learn true bellydance techniques, then look no further! I started coming to LABA 10 months ago,and I honestly feel like I struck gold finding this place. Stefanya, the owner, has created a safe haven for people to come to learn how to dance. What I like most about her classes is that they are not just classes where you learn different moves. She also breaks down the movements step by step, tells you which region they originate from, and also reminds you to remain grounded while creating the movement. I also love how at the end of each class they continue playing music, and we circle up and take turns dancing for one another. At first, I was nervous. However, since Stefanya makes sure the place feels safe for all dancers, I feel much more confident doing it now. In fact, just coming to these classes has made me feel much more confident not just as a dancer, but also as a person in general.Additionally, the studio itself is just gorgeous! It has high ceilings, an area for you to chill/stretch before and after your class, and also plenty of street parking in the back.

I highly recommend LABA for anyone who wants to get a high quality Bellydance education AND have loads of fun doing it. I came to LABA to study with the owner, Stefanya, for 3 months. I had admired her dancing from afar on videos only, so didnt know what to expenct when I actually arrived in class. It was even better than I had hoped for! Stefanya and the other instructors were not only good dancers and instructors, but they were also sooo approachable, funny!, and patient. I found the classes challenging in a good way..made me want to come back for more, and I had so much fun doing it. All the instructors give very clear instruction and positive criticism. PLUS...there are many opportunities to perform if u attend the choreo classes! The choreographies are super fun and fresh, and all the students who come to the classes are friendly and sweet too. LABA also offers Middle Eastern folk dancing and Tahitian. They have so much to offer! All in all, I had an incredible experience at LABA and I cant wait to go back when Im in LA again. -Aimee
