If you’re kids are going to start Kinder here at Collins see if you can push to have Mrs. Lee as their teacher ! She is outstanding, very smart & caring . She’s always pushing the kids and challenging them as well as staying in contact with parents

I love Collins school. Students are academically challenged daily and there are many fun enrichment activities outside of regular class time like theater, music, garden club, student council, and athletics. Collins has built two new computer labs that students use every day. Collins also offers parent volunteer opportunities and community involvement classes monthly. Collins is so proud of their academic growth and their 2016 state awards of California Gold Ribbon School and Title 1 Achievement School.

Its unfortunate people are more eager to write negative reviews than positive reviews.Everyone at the school  (administrators, coaches, counselors, teachers, and even classified staff) go over and beyond to make school a positive experience for the kids at Collins.Theres after school clubs, extra curricular  activities, academic interventions, GATE programs, and even Saturday activities offered at Collins to meet the needs of all students. None of these things possible without the sacrifice and dedication from the people mentioned above.

This is the ABSOLUTE WORSE SCHOOL EVER! I have never met a more disrespectful, rude, and racist principal, Mr. Law, and vice principal, Mrs. Contreras. Lets not even talk about the actual office staff constantly with an attitude just because its Tuesday. This school staff care nothing about your kids but more about a paycheck and that is it! They allow bullying better yet they condone it! There are only a hand full literally one handful of teachers that genuinely care about the kids, their well-being, their safety, and their education. This school rate is at a 2 and decreasing. Good luck if you put your child here because you must not care for your child or want much for them!

I really like the school as a whole the teachers are really good especially Mrs. Wilson (TK) and Mrs. Jaminez (K) awesome teachers, I cannot say enough good things about them. Mr Law is also a good addition to the school as the new principal as far as I can see. I am happy he is there I wish he would have been there years ago when my first daughter started school there, these people promote education and advanced learning that makes for a great team, Sorry to say on the other hand some other staff members such as Mrs Patty the office administrator (would like to be principal or higher up ) really could use a class in customer service and how respect the parents that walk through the doors of the school, she is rude,short and at times very sarcastic and tries to be disrespectful she is horrible very unprofessional person. Mrs. Contreras can take a class or two also as well when a parent is having a parent-teacher conference with their childrens teacher it is very unprofessional and disrespectful for the assistant principal to keep calling the class asking the teacher to hurry up because she would like to go home. Thats not okay and it doesnt look good at all you should always be professional.

The school sucks for the area thought lakewood had class but insteds needs to attend class, the principal looks straight out of a Lego Movie. bullying is not taken as an issue knowing it can have mental scaring, There more worryed about selling nachos on Fridays. Iam glad this school is a stepping stone a way.

Collins got a new principal on 2012 She is an excellent principal she is a very sweet and professional person great personality she is great with kids she rewards them in a lot of different ways Collins has great teachers like Stilles and Raygoza second and third grade Before the school had a lot of aggressive kids But on 2013 everything has changed I feel better about Collins Elementary School

I like the school it is fun and the teachers acctully care for your eduction. Mrs.hunt is so nice and she helps you with all your problmes. The only thing i hate about the school is mrs.splker but my fave teacher was mrs.g willson . I was a student there two years ago

I certainly hope standards improved from about 1965 to 1970. Worst school ever at the time.
