I guess the academics are fine, even though a lot of kids here are held back a grade thats why Cpsas grades are so good. Cpsa however has horrible athletic clubs and activities. For all of highschool their is only one sport for the boys and one sport for the girls and they both only have one team for that sport, meaning seniors and freshman and everybody in highschool has to tryout and play on the same team. there isnt even a junior varsity team and even with such a nice court the still somehow only have one sport team for all the boys

CPSA is a thriving school, one of the best school in the nation according to Washington Post report. They are in redevelopment phase and erecting a brand new building and its is beautiful. I visited them yesterday and had a chance to look at their facilities and was very impressed. The board president Dr. Shahid Anasari spoke to us and shared their vision and plans which are mind boggling. I wish them all the success for their sincere efforts.

The worse experience anyone can possibly have. They do NOT have your childs best interest at hand. If your child needs a little bit of help in anything, they write him off. The teachers are not qualified to deal with several situations. The well being of the students are not on the teachers list of things they care to do. Most of the bullying comes from the teachers themselves, not the students. If you bring it up to administration, you just get the run around. The teachings of Islam are not followed here. Making children feel worthless, is what they are very good at. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN HERE IF YOUR CARE ABOUT THEM!!!!!

Honestly one of the best Islamic schools in all of North America. The curriculum here (especially in High School) is extremely challenging, and the schools performance on standardized tests and at state/national competitions is superb. Excellent focus on math and science, and very rigorous education. Its a small school and the resources are a bit scarce, but given those constraints what theyve managed to do with it is pretty amazing, mashaAllah.

I feels that CPSA was MUCH better before the construction. First of all, the playground isnt there any more. Second, the hot lunches are hairy, greasy, cold and overall gross. They stopped selling the candy, juices, brownies, cookies, chips, and all the other goodies. I really loved the chicken tikka but now its gone. The teachers before were better and they were nicer. I think it deserves at least 3 stars because it is a great place to meet friends. They will never judge you (that much) and they are amazing. The teachers nowadays are much more strict and we get way more tests and quizzes. One of the worst parts is IXL. You get 79 and accidently click the wrong button and it goes down to like 60. The curriculum keeps changing, so i have to keep wasting money on new books instead of taking the books from my siblings. I feel like we should have more field trips and more fun activities. The school focuses mainly on our education and doesnt really care how we feel. They force tests onto us (not all teachers), but other teachers are very kind and compassionate. They should expand the original building instead of building a new building. The halls are always too crowded and there is no space to walk. Overall, i think the school is average

I don’t even go to this school I go to universal, but looking at these reviews makes me think how bad this school is. They don’t have a gym. When I vs their basketball team they put their best player which is always number 23 and revolve their team around him. We were losing by one awith a couple seconds left. I stole the ball and as I was going for a layup they threw me agains the wall. I made both free throws. Then I stole the ball and they don’t even know what an intentional foul is. They just jump on you. Ima give them a 5 star because I feel bad.

This place is literally retarted. They say its the most challenging school in Illinois, my foot. The place is trash, the teacher have no professionalism, and the only thing they care about is the schools reputation. Let me give you the worlds best advice DO NOT ENROLL your children in this terrible school whatsoever your wasting your money, all they want to do is leach off your money and suck all of your wealth, anything you want to get from them requires some kind of involvement with money and the students are disrespectful everybody has horrible grades and its not worth it, and the say its a beautiful islamic environment, yeah well they are LYING to you. You can find a better school to go so that your children can have an amazing future but sending them to this tiny ugly looking shed its MOST DEFINITELY NOT worth it!

This school is one of the worst. Just walking in the hall pisses me off, like 4 real. The ppl here are sssssnakes and only few are actually chill. They overwork the students and regulate unnecessary and unfair rules. If anyone gets bullied, they act like they care but end up not doing anything . They have no sympathy towards the students and only care about the schools reputation. This school was actually pretty decent at first but as the staff changed so did my opinion on the school. TBH it is academically satisfactory. There is a lot of bullying which isnt taken srsly and most teachers and some students are very judgmental and hella bias.. Not only that, but they have limited resources and the gym is extremely small and is used as a lunch and prayer room. I would not recommend this school for any child .....unless you hate your child...or are trying to punish him or her.

I went to this school for 12 years, from KG - 12, and 13 years after graduation as I am looking for a school for my 7 year old daughter, its so funny to read the current negative comments because I was in the same exact boat. No A/C, a teacher running around with a hitting stick, and extremely limited resources. I used to hate this school as well. But guys, two things that survive and make this place invaluable are the muslim friends that you make and keep for the rest of your life, and the islamic discipline that assists people in the crazy, non-islamic life of every college. Not to mention that this school prepares kids very well for college especially with AP courses. Highly recommend this school, I miss this place.

Review №27

Ive been going to this school for four years and counting, and my bad experiences outweigh the good ones by a mile. They take each and every chance they get to earn money and spend it for construction, but later we hear that they spent tons of money on IXL accounts for all the students, when nobody benefits from it except when they want to get good grades. Speaking of good grades, the education system is all about boosting your 80 to a 90 or your 90 to a 100, rather than making sure the student fully understands the topic. They say Academic Excellence In An Islamic Environment but the environment is the opposite of Islamic. Everyone talks behind each others backs, spreads rumors, gossips, bullies, and everyone is really nosy. As an Islamic society, we should all be there for and support each other, instead, everyone brings each other down, including the staff. They handle situations in an un-Islamic and un-professional manner, such as manipulating, guilt-tripping, making biased decisions, blackmailing, degrading, and coercing. They prioritize the schools reputation over the students well-being.Cleanliness is half of your Imaan, and as an Islamic school, it should be emphasized and implemented in the environment. Yet as soon as you walk into the school, you are welcomed with a grotesque view. For example, there are piles of dirt and dust in clearly visible places, gum under the desks, writings on walls and desks, and bathrooms are the definition of dirty. The staff try and find new and unjust ways to implement their unreasonable rules, such as the uniform policy. Students get in trouble for wearing grey socks, purple under pieces under their hijab, or fancy PINS for their hijab. This school is full of students who are afraid to stand up for themselves and express their feelings and opinions, but I am not one of those students. This school made my middle school years hell for me, and for bringing me down all these years, this is my way of bringing them down even if it has the smallest impact.

I went to CPSA for 6th-12th grade and graduated in 2001. The subjects were appropriate for my level and I remember doing well above the state average on standardized testing. The teachers always seemed to care a lot and would try to motivate us to be curious and learn. The small class sizes meant we got a lot of one on one attention and were able to ask a lot of questions and have class discussions. With Islamic studies as part of our curriculum we learned about Seeraah, stories of the Sahaba, Islamic history, and has many discussions on what it meant to be Muslim in US. We learned important Islamic values like how to care for others, the importance of community service and rights of our neighbors. We also learned Arabic and over the years many of us built up a good vocabulary in Arabic.I believe CPSA provides a very nurturing and safe environment. We learned what it is to be a part of a community.Another huge plus is that because the school is so small it allows a high percentage of the students to compete statewide in WYSE, decathlon and other academic competitions. These competitions prepare students to compete for acceptance to excellent colleges and develop the qualities they will need to compete for jobs further down the line.Looking back I wish we had better sports and arts programs, but I have faith that once the new building is done there will be more facilities for these activities. As with any school having great staff and adequate funding are vital for the development of the students and the school and I pray that CPSA continues to have great people who run the school and people who donate generously to a worthy cause.I would be happy to answer any questions regarding my experience, especially for those considering sending their kids to a private Islamic school.May Allah bless those who help this school, our community, and the Ummah to thrive. Ameen.

Eh. I learn quite a lot. Teachers are generally good with a few major exceptions. Theres the chill students, then theres some looneys. Its fun to hang out with all two of my friends, especially when one of them leaves for glenbard west. We usually have to wait 40 min outside for our rides to come. One of the best periods is gym where I write this crappy review on an even crappier school. The computers are stunningly modern with internet explorer 1997. The internet is good as the gym.. i mean lunch room... i mean mosque... and everyone has the wi fi password. Hot lunch is 4 bucks w/a water bottle, and snacks are generally $1. The $2 fries inhibit more colors than my wardrobe. If your lucky, theyll be selling their expired chips for half price. Every class has its ssssssnakes so we get in trouble for satire plans that never happened and wouldnt have either way. People making reviews saying every1 gets bad grades are just talking about themselves in third person or expected to get above 4.3 gpa by their parents. Half the tryhards arent bad and pretty chill. Bathrooms are dirty like resting areas in Michigan. Thankfully I dont find any hair in my brownies anymore, and its been a while since the last fire alarm ringing cuz of burnt chicken.
