I withdrew my child from this school. My child is twice exceptional and the Special Ed department worked with him and had a wonderful IEP put together. The problem was that some of the teachers did not honor it or follow through with it. In a public school there are legal consequences for not following an IEP, but it I felt like that was not the case here. I reported one teacher and there were no changes or consequences. If your child is neuro-typical, this is a great program. But if your child has special needs and an IEP, I would not recommend this school.As for the good things... My child especially loved his science class. The art class was also pretty incredible. He also enjoyed Spanish. The world cultures teacher was fantastic. His curriculum was a challenge, but the kids enjoyed it. And he really understood kids with ADHD.The cons..The technology class was mediocre at best. Most talented kids are eons above the curriculum being taught in the 6th grade. My child was bored. For the last portion of the year, the technology teacher did not show up to class and of course the substitutes did not follow the IEP at all.There are no options for electives. You get what you get. Other programs in the area offer options. There are no fine arts classes (band is a club, not a class). Also, there was a child in my childs cohort who was a native Spanish speaker from a bilingual school and they still forced her to take Intro to Spanish, since there were no other options.

This school is the best thing that had happened to me and my family. They have and amazing stem program and just as good staff. I would totally recommend this school to my friends

The only reason i am putting one star is because I cant put no stars. This school is the worst above the worst school ever. I have seen pimples better than some of these teachers. In math we have 2 teachers. Mrs Dennis always mocks the other teacher thinking no one will find out.Mrs Cabrera room always stinks. I think she farts around the class when we leave.Mrs Cabrera made one of the students miss the game while she was able to go to it. Mrs Cabrera does too much. I honestly think she needs to go to a elementary school. One time a student in my class got a high honor and Mrs.Cabrera thought that she was in high school. In computer class Mrs. A thought a kid with braces was chewing gum. When other people in my class were trying to back up the kids case they got in trouble. She always takes prs for doing science. She says we can only do computer subjects but yet she tells us we can do reading and math in her class. She also thinks that she knows everything about what we do but really she doesnt know that much. She just bosses the class around. One time when the other teacher wasnt there she had to gmail him from a long way away.The science teacher cant control her class, so she never teaches a lesson. She just gives the assignments. DONT COME TO THIS SCHOOL. Unless you want your child to be a hobo.

-This school is really not that amazing. It’s not horrible but parents think it’s amazing when most of the teachers are mediocre- Some of the teachers don’t know basic things like what to do during a lock down drill, and some of teachers can hardly speak English-We don’t really have that many options for science and tech besides robotics and science Olympiad which most schools have now anyways.

This school is horrible! My kid used to go to that school. I heard this school is fun. While my kid was there, she has been stressing out, she has been upset of how much homework she has!! This is a terrible school!👎 You guys are putting too much pressure to the students and it’s not fair. The students deserve to do something fun because they do their work hard! The school is not terrible. They do provide a lot of amazing opportunities and great field trips. I am a student there and i was placed in 66 and I am learning about the college programs and everything that is going on. The school obviously needs lots of improvement but not every school is perfect. When you pick a school there are advantages and disadvantages. Honestly the courses are good, the school itself...not so much.

Awesome curriculum, awesome goals - If youre serious about education, this is a great opportunity in PG County. I have a 6th and 7th grader, and its no joke - plenty of homework and youre held accountable. Good luck with the lottery!

My sisters kid goes to this school and my niece has been telling me how unnecessarily difficult certain classes have been. She is under a lot of pressure and stress and has been up till 1 IN THE MORNING just to get a dumb assignment done. She is way less happy at home and wishes she could leave.

This school is terrible! The way of learning here is terrible and many of the students do what they want without teachers bothering them! My math teacher picks on many of the students for nothing. One time a student wasnt even talking and got in trouble for talk! Let me also mention the school, Its an I.T school where the IT teacher Ms. Graham cant even teach the class and knows nothing about computers! If you are in honors you are doing advanced math and not even learning about the basic facts of math! Teachers constantly leave and we get new teachers at the school! Example, we had like 2 reading teachers, 2 Spanish teachers, and 2 art teachers. The one of the lunch ladies are rude to me and the food is mostly bad. The school also has barley any activities and if they do its terrible. The only good things are the field trips. I suggest you go to CMIT South, a private school, or any other school!EDIT: 8th grade year: Currently I go to CMIT Academy still and we have lost 2 teachers in less than half of the school year. The school still has teachers who leave MID YEAR.

I personally do not approve of this school to anyone, the staff is terrible. Some of the staff members are terrible at their job, theyre terribly rude to the students and they dont care about their feelings, some staff right? There were multiple occasions of which Id see the staff members yelling and or cursing at students. The purpose of a teacher is to guide the future generation and mold them to be the best that they can be. And yet, so many teachers are bringing down their students, do you know how many incidents there were of which children were crying because their teacher was picking on them? This is out of control and needs to be resolved. And until then, this should be at the bottom of the list for any parent.

The truth about the school is that yes there is a lot of work but if u want exturcuricular activities then u should sign up for ones at the school, that way you can get help from the teachers that work the clubs. and most teachers are at the school dont leave until 3:45 so u can ask them

This is a trash school. I dont appreciate that the teachers dont really do their job. My science teacher doesnt really teach. My computer teacher does not like to use correct grammar. We have lots of Turkish teachers, and sometimes we cant understand them. Overall, this school is not recommended for anyone. They should turn this into a correctional facility.

DO NOT!!!!! Repeat DO NOT go to CMIT North. You wont walk out the same. The teachers are very rude to the students and will pick on them. Just I was stretching in my seat, and one of my teachers saw my cell phone fall out my pocket and took it. He always picks on me and I dont think your child deserves this. We also are not learning anything in math even though we are in advanced math. We learned stuff in the beginning of the year but now no. All we did was IXL but now we do Math XL which is even worse. My other teacher, gives me a minus all the time like today I got a minus for doing nothing. Sometimes I do talk and I deserve it but other times no. Not to be rude, but some of our Turkish teachers accents are thick so its harder to understand which makes it harder to learn. On the other hand, Ms. Lash and Ms. Lawrence are good teachers, and we actually learn.Im tired of this school. My cousin and friends go to CMIT South and they say its way better. Also one time I needed my computer teachers help and whenever I ask for help she tells me to do it myself and doesnt help. Then she waits until the end of class to help me. Our reading teacher Ms.Sumor is a really good teacher but students dont behave in her class.Now dont get me started on Spanish. Ms. Cabrera gives me -5 PRS for disturbing class twice at the same time at 9:47. The problem is, I dont go to her class at 9:47. And I dont even want to talk about the students here.We also get barely any activities and when we do do stuff, its terrible. The field trips are good though. I would not recommend this school to anyone. When my friends parents tell me that theyre coming to this school next year, I immediately tell them that theyre making a bad decision and they should go to CMIT South, a private school, or just stay at the school they are now. Or at least any other school. I dont even know why I even chose to go to this school. I feel like I get dumber everyday I come to this school.

**THIS IS FOR CMIT SOUTH**Pros: good Curriculum, learning environment is good, they warn you up-front about the heavy work load, not a zoo!Cons: too much work, teachers too often dont grade papers causing erroneous grades on schoolmax, difficult to meet with staff, Headstaff not cut out to deal with discipline, only shows attention to smart kids, seems more concerned with numbers than teachingThe Management of the school seems to treat the kids as machines and only care about good grades as opposed to actually cultivating young minds, it seems as if they figure struggling (behavioral and academically) children will weed themselves out and withdraw. If you want your child to have any extra-curricular activities, this is not the school because h/w and projects can take up to 3-4 hrs to complete a night. The kids AND PARENTS have to work real hard to complete all work, (doesnt mean it will be right); which is not a bad thing but can also lead to burn out. You want kids to be well-rounded in life, not just remember how to answer a question on a subject they wont remember in 3 years.This school is not full of troublesome kids but, KIDS WILL BE KIDS and as of 4/28/16 the staff doesnt seem equipped to deal with bullying. There is one legitimate admin but he is handicapped as to how much he can actually do.Lastly they get rid of teachers without informing parents of a change, my child has had 3 spanish teachers, and 2 different science teachers and the year is not over. This also causes issues with grading properlyOverall it gets a C+/ B - but it change is needed at the top

I think you should not let your child go to this school. i am a student there and a lot of bad things happened at this school. last year when i was in 7th grade the police had to come to my school to get a boy the next day he did not come back to school he go kicked out of the school for having weed, also last the high schoolers boys were in the boys bathroom smoking weed during school, they did not want them all to get kicked out of school because they did not want the school to have a bad reputaion, so only one of the boys got kicked out. I ever since i have been to this school girls were all way sending nudes to boy and getting exposed.for one girl i know that her parents told the school and thee police were about to come to our school to check peoples phone to see if they still had the naked pic of her, but the police never came. the kids at this school are mean and rude they can also ruined your life like the they ruined mine. this is the worst school you could possablely go to, this school is like jail. DONT GO TO CMIT ACADEMY NORTH.
