Mike is a great instructor. Our 10 year old son has been a student with Mike for one whole year. Our son has always had a love for music but we never imagined the progress in one year. Mike makes it personable and fun by letting the student lead the direction of songs and styles. Within 3 weeks our son was playing Neil Youngs Old Man which was his choice. He has also expanded from starting with an acoustic guitar, to the ukulele and now the electric guitar. Mike is an amazing instructor. He is teaching me how to play the Ukulele. Music is not in my DNA, and I a surprised how Mike can break down concepts for me to understand them. Even if I dont get the first idea, Mike seems to have a never ending knowledge base, of different things for me to try, until I grasp the concept.

You have to take guitar lessons from Mike! After only 8 months of studying with him, I have learned multiple genres including pop, classic rock, 90’s rock, and fingerstyle. Mike caters the lessons around your musical interests and your goals, but also teaches valuable techniques and helpful theory in ways that are easy to understand. Not only does he have incredible experience and knowledge, Mike is also patient and encouraging. I absolutely love playing guitar and getting to study with Mike is a huge part of that!

Our 11 year old daughter is a year into guitar lessons with Mike and our family couldnt be happier. Mikes approach of teaching from the students point of interest has our daughter completely engaged! Learning to play songs by her favorite artists was her goal and MIke has made it tangible, interesting and fun. MIke is very laid back and has a nice balance of how he encourages and challenges our chil. His passion for music is contagious, which makes the lessons more valuable. Our daughter already has her eye on adding some music production work into her mix with Mike. Very cool to have acess to such talent in Boulder!
