I want to wish Kala Tedder very good luck and hopes that she is elected to the Polk County School Board. I wish I was living in Polk County. I would definitely vote for her. But unfortunately Im not. Damn it!!! So everybody in Polk County please vote for her when election time comes a round. She has some very good ideas about how to improve Polk County schools!!!

As a student just by SOPHOMORE year, I am completely fed up with how rude the guidance counselors and people working in their office treated myself and my parents. Their concerns are not about YOUR EDUCATION, their priorities are specifically for maintaining a schools reputation which is mauled by this constant disrespect.Not to mention there are certain teachers that are known to be excessive with work and horror stories are spread around the student body, and the staff has done nothing to try and limit the load and stress that they force their students through. Its unbelievable.For PARENTS EVERYWHERE, heed this WARNING: if you know what is best for your child over guidance counselors who only see a number, I suggest not engaging in this school. Its YOUR education. Avoid George Jenkins and keep it that way.

I am not writing this as a disgruntled loser, i had tons of friends, was a football star, ect, I can see why students would dislike this school though, rich cliques and preppy people as far as the eye can see. the academics are farther a head of the other polk counties schools as well. Which is good. but if your student has trouble learning or is someone whom never pays attention and wants to learn they are going to have a hard time.

Just moved here, the office staff are rude, deans think they are hot stuff, you may meet someone nice as far as staff goes maybe 1 in 10 people, the curriculum is not taught well, as a senior in highschool and currently been to my 3rd highschool in 4 years due to relocation for my fathers work, this is by far the worst most disgusting school, cockroaches found just about everywhere you look... dont recommend

All the guys act like girls and all the girls like guys that act like girls. But if youre looking for a school that supports the act of cannibalism, heres your place. ☺

As a parent, Ive had nothing but a headache with the guidance office at GJHS. They dont care about your childs goals and will haphazardly place them in whatever classes they feel are best for your child without consulting with the parent first. In addition, there are many loopholes to getting through as a parent. The guidance counselors act as if they hold ownership over the students and are easily offended by parents who are actively involved in their childs college plans. It is a shame that I graduated from this school in 2001 and now I am having the worst experience as a parent. I would recommend all parents to consider a different school through Polk Academies. Do not go to GJHS!

I absolutely hated this school!!! There are wealthy students that go to this school, and it does feel uncomfortable impeding on their perfect world... but tat isnt what bugged me the most. The teachers didnt give two cents!!! Every day in anatomy class we were handed paper work and I would listen to music everyday, and do worksheets. Culinary was a joke, the kitchen was hardly ever clean. Pre- calculus was a sure way to lower your GPA. I transferred from a different county, so the teacher told wasnt responsible for teaching what the other students had already learned, (Due to common core). I would not recommend this school at all!!

Unfortunately, a school whose faculty discriminates against disabled and special needs individuals, the way George Jenkins Principal, and staff do, cannot be considered a quality school. If the Polk County School Board would replace some of these people, with professional educators, the community would be much better off.

Mrs.Raquel Falcon is the worst teacher at this school. She has students do multiple pieces of work on the same subject for homework. She thinks she knows all the students problems and guesses their life for them without even letting them speak. She is very RACIST to HISPANIC SPEAKERS saying hispanic speakers should know spanish if they have a hispanic last name and come from a hispanic background. She mocks children in class. The school suks there gonna believe a guy who was walkin his dogs saying that me n my gf were doing something but we was jus sitting down talking n now were suspended for 10 n it bs like all we was doing was talking n skipping n they still believe a guy who was walking his dogs

Ms. Ready is the worst kind of a teacher you can imagine. She is rude and she lies treats students unfairly. The school is unwilling to do anything about it because she lies her way out of anything and always says that she has done nothing wrong. The individually targets certain students and makes up rules as she goes. I hope it would be addressed with her one day.

Went to the office today and had the worst experience. The lady in the guidance counselor had no manners.

Man I remember like 2 years ago I got suspended for calling a Jew a Jew when thats his nickname that he likes and I got suspended for 4 days because thats a type of bullyingWelcome to George Jenkins.
