Imagine struggling with your child learning to read. Imagine ensuring your trust in an organization to teach your child to read. Imagine paying real money for this.Now imagine the organization promoting speeding through lessons, bullying children for not reading fast enough, and arguing with parents when an issue with their “tutor” is aggressive with their child.Also, Speeding. Through reading lessons. Sound funny? Imagine paying money for this. Did I mention that?Bottom line, this Kumon site WILL NOT teach your children to read. They WILL NOT listen to parents above their staff. But they WILL take your money.My advice to parents struggling with their children’s reading skills. PLEASE STAY AWAY. Use your money for a better alternative. Thanks to Kumon in Aberdeen, that’s exactly what me and my family are doing right now. The one star is for that one teenage girl that paid attention 75% while my daughter was reading.

I would not recommend this location as the owner condones teachers talking down students and making them feel very uncomfortable. My daughter was participating using zoom season due to COVID-19. Everything was fine until she was assigned to work with an instructor that made her feel uncomfortable, spokedown to her and basically spent the time rushing her through the reading session instead of helping her with the reading. Before the zoom call my daughter was happy and looking forward to her session. As soon as she got off the zoom session my daughter was very sad and eyes full of tears. After seeing my daughter so hurt we immediately got back on the zoom call to discuss the issue. We made it clear that we wanted to discuss an issue with the last session. The employee responsible for managing the zoom rooms waited a minute and the proceeded to ask what was the issue. We spoke with the instructor expressed that we did not want her to work with the instructor moving forward. The owner of the location never called to get more details on the issue. Instead he waited for me to call to ask for her work be prepared for pick to say he did not agree with us and the instructor did not do anything wrong. So making children that need help reading feel less than and uncomfortable is how they do things at this location. I under that children need to be pushed but not to the point of making them breakdown and cry. We pay for the service to provide assistance reading not to bully a child to finish the session as soon as possible. This location is very disorganized I Wouk NOT recommend to anyone who values how their child is treated
