White Dragon is truly a family. Our children have been training here for quite sometime now and it’s the most encouraging and motivational martial arts studio we’ve ever been to. All of the teacher’s are fabulous and super friendly and the prices are fair for the amount of classes you can take a week plus the private lessons. We are so appreciative of the support we have received with our children from all of the teachers and the student interaction is amazing. Everyone is friends and encouraging to each other. We can’t recommend this place more.

I came to America at the age of 12. Growing up, I was skinny, had braces and wore glasses. To top it off, I didn’t speak English, therefor I was vulnerable to being bully. I was not only bullied at school, but also was bullied at home. At the age of 14, I joined white dragon to learn self defense but mostly to build confidence. I was fortunate to have learned from the chief instructor of the school Tai Sifu Tittle. Fast forward to today at the age of 31, I have been very successful with my career and it’s all because of white dragon. If you are reading this, don’t hesitate to try out the free classes that they offer. It is well worth the investment for yourself or your loved ones.

Great place to learn self defense and the staff are so friendly. Always wise with wisdom and always there to listen to your troubles at times. I learned many great things there and got my confidence back after being bullied heavily when I was in high school. I do miss being a student there since I have not been there for three years and I wish to see my teacher again someday.

This school has changed my life, in a positive way. I was looking for a way to overcome my depression and decided to try with martial arts. Every instructor at the La Mesa location has been patient, kind, and respectful showing my 10 yr old son with obstructive defiance disorder how to behave the same way by leading through example. They’ve helped guide my son through the stages of white sash to earn a yellow sash. This has given him a level of self confidence and worth he hasn’t received anywhere else. It’s a complete joy to watch my son learning to focus on something and through that focus accomplishing his goals this is such a huge part of living a good life. Thank You White Dragon!

I signed up for White Dragon Martial Arts in August. Ive been consistently going since and it has been a phenomenal experience!I came in with zero background experience in martial arts. I really appreciate the patience that my instructor shows every single lesson. During one of my first lessons he reassured me that whatever I dont learn today, I will learn tomorrow because its all about repetition and building on the fundamentals. It was great to hear this reassurance!The group classes challenge you in a good way. The instructors will constantly remind you to invoke the martial spirit! The group classes build on the fundamentals that you will learn in during your private lessons. As you keep rising in ranks, different types of classes are offered such as sparring and weapon training.I would highly recommend this school to anyone (regardless of age) who is looking to learn self-defense and/or wants to work out in a non-judgmental environment. The staff is amazing and everyone (staff and students) are super respectful. I love this place and Im really happy I decided to join!

My daughter loves it. It’s all she raves about. The Sifu’s or Instructors are awesome! The positive environment and interaction they give to their students as well with the families are AMAZING! I love how the staff encourages parents to be part of their kids training. Really appreciate the one on one instruction at white dragon because I find I learn things more thoroughly and at my own pace. My husband and I have been looking for a good martial art place for ours kids. So glad that we found this place. My kids loved it here. The staffs and instructors are so amazing. My kids comes home raving about what techniques they have learned. The group classes are amazing also the one on one lesson. My kids has learned so much since the been here. Excellent martial arts school! Since day one when my wife, two boys(4&6) and I walked in the door, we have always been graciously greeted by the wonderful front desk staff. Tai-Sifu Tittle did a wonderful job giving us a tour of the school and explaining the training program. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. After a few private training sessions with Tittle, my boys were very eager to sign up. He does an excellent job working with kids (and adults)! Mr. Landini was assigned as my boys personal instructor and my wife and I couldnt be more pleased with his teaching and patience.Over the past few months, we have met most of the instructors and staff, and feel all of them are exceptional! My boys have started grappling lessons and are always excited to go to their lessons. They have really begun to grasp balance, discipline and the benefit of hard work, training and respect. This is a wonderful school, full of knowledgeable and caring instructors that are working hard to train and grow in the martial arts. If anyone is interested in martial arts for themselves, kids or whatever... I strongly recommend checking this place out.

AH, yeah! White Dragon. I really wish I could just download my experience into you because there is so *much* but that wouldn’t work so now I’m scrambling around for words to publicly describe my experience here.Martial arts are inherently difficult so if you are looking for an easy quick kind of workout experience I don’t recommend it. But if you are looking for an active lifestyle option and aren’t afraid of things like discipline, hard work, or being challenged, and you don’t mind learning in an all-ages environment, then come here.If I had to base my recommendation off of the first three weeks of training I would have told you I had made a mistake. I was kind of freaked out and confused. That says something about what I was like back then. The thing is learning takes time. Even though it was hard for me I stuck it out, and man, I’m glad I did!I’ve been training consistently at the La Mesa school for about 4 ½ years. They emphasis self-defence and health (both really awesome things) through traditional Chinese martial arts. The staff is held to a high standard and they are willing to workout any issues you may have with them or the training process. I have found the them to be consistently dedicated, generous and respectful.As with any new environment expect to be a little confused at first. You will be paired with a privet instructor and you can ask them all the questions you have no matter how lame.For me just access to this awesome community is worth the time and expense and I’m definitely stronger and more confident than I was when I began training and, to me, that is amazing.So seriously try it. Sticking around was/is the *best mistake* I continue to make.

White Dragon teaches one of the most effective self defense disciplines. You only need to look as far as our local news channels these past two years to see that. KUSI reported on two of their young students (under 12) that fought off would be kidnappers using what they learned at White Dragon! I highly recommend White Dragon to young people as well as adults. At the tender age of 47 on a whim I signed up at White Dragon La Mesa as something to do, an outlet and because I thought kung fu was cool. It was the one of the best things I have ever done. 6 years later Im still at it. It has given me confidence, engaged my mind and my body and best of all given me very good friends, who support and challenge me.

I have been coming here for 5 years and I love it! The instructors are great and Kung Fu helps to develop different skills such as confidence, balance, coordination, strength, focus, flexibility, self defense, and it is also a great way to improve memory and brain function. They offer a diversity of classes not limited to Kung fu such as Thai Chi, Weapons, Grappling, Kick Boxing that everyone can attend.

After my previous Martial Arts School closed, I joined White Dragon Martial Arts La Mesa School five years ago and so glad I did. The training has helped me with my balance and the instructors are great. This school is great, theres a strong sense of community and camaraderie among the students. Were always looking to support one another, and we understand that in building each other up we ultimately create better martial artists in the long run.The instructors are dedicated and clearly passionate about the job they do; when theyre not teaching their students or running classes, theyre always helping students with questions.We get to learn traditional Choy Li Fut hand and weapons forms, kickboxing, Yang-style Tai Chi Chuan, and grappling, to name a few. Anyone who comes with an earnest interest and dedication to the art form will be greatly rewarded.And if that doesnt pique your interest, consider this quote from Bruce Lee: Choy Li Fut is the most effective system that Ive seen for fighting more than one person, [It] is one of the most difficult styles to attack and defend against. Choy Li Fut is the only style [of kung fu] that traveled to Thailand to fight the Thai boxers and hadnt lost.

Where to start. First off let me state that I wish I could give the school 11 stars!I joined White Dragon school in May 2016 at the referral of my spiritual counselor, as a way to find balance and give myself a healthy outlet to channel some intense internal energy. As I have tried everything from home workout dvds, 30 day internet challenges and a couple big name gyms I was skeptical about how interested they could keep me since I tend to lose motivation and self accountability when it comes to working out. Still I signed up for the 2 part introductory lessons with an open mind. After my first lesson I was hooked. After my second I decided that White Dragon was exactly what I needed in my life and committed to a one year second tier membership. I use the word committed here because while its not cheap the membership is worth every penny. The knowledge they teach and the offered resources( for example: video training for at home study, seminars, etc) are a complete investment in yourself and your journey. I cant say this enough, you get back what you put into this. Take advantage of what the school offers and its more than worth the price. They didnt try to oversell me on the packages and really worked with me to determine what the best level of commitment would work in conjuncture with my own personal goals. With my membership I have access to a multitude of group classes that are offered both in the early afternoons and on alternate days in the evenings and one 30 min personal lesson each week (special shout out to Mr. Cuiriz youre awesome!).The Chief Instructor Tai Sifu Tittle is always approachable and friendly and every instructor I have taken classes with are A+. They are patient, encouraging and just as dedicated to their students success as the students themselves. One of my main concerns prior to joining was that there might be a macho vibe in the martial arts community. SO NOT THE CASE. Everyone I have come into contact with at White Dragon starting from day one has treated me with the utmost friendliness, professionalism and respect. This statement goes for the other students as well! This school truly radiates a family like energy.I started out this journey for myself but can honestly that after just 4 months I feel like I am a part of something bigger than myself. My only regret is that I didnt find out about the school sooner. I feel so proud to say I train in Choy Li Fut Kung Fu at White Dragon.

I am 54 years old and became a student at White dragon about 9 months ago. I say my age only to encourage my peers to not let the age of your body hold you back. It seems that once I hit 53 I began to feel achey and more tired. Never being one to sleep in I was having a harder time wanting to get out of bed. My mood was becoming Ho Hum which I never though was possible. A friend (who is also an instructor at WD) inspired me when I heard him speak on his experience as a martial artist of Choy li Fut. I was in awe. My world immediatley opened up as if a gift, a way out of my physical stuckness, landed on my lap.The next day I walked into White Dragon Martial Arts School in La Mesa and I dont see myself ever leaving. In the group classes I am usually surrounded by students much younger than me but I want to assure you this does not matter. We are all treated with the same respect and kindness. I will say, we are all expected to do the best we can and to push ourselves, but this is the way, the discipline of being a martial artist. I love the challenge on so many levels, even on the days I feel so defeated by the pace of my learning, my flexibility or strength. My instructor reminds me that we are all learning all the time no matter what sash level we are at. I hold onto this.Having unlimited group classes supports the individual training I get with my instructor weekly. The classes that focus more on physical fitness to strengthen and develop endurance are intense. I sweat in 10 minutes in these workouts what it used to take in a 50-minute cycling class. Plus, I use my whole body now, every inch of it in ways I never have. I love that my brain is being stimulated and forced to rewire itself which is good brain health, helps prevent neurological problems that come with age.I could go on and on singing praises from the exceptional staff lead by Tai Sifu Donald Tittle to the quality of program, but I especially want to speak to the older crowd. Dont hesitate, dont let fear block you. White Dragon is a supportive and exciting place to learn, grow, be challenged and stay healthy. I thank everyone at White Dragon and hope to give back in some way what they have given me.
