This new principal is awesome! I hear the school has had some bumpy roads over the last couple of years but I truly believe they have a great team of teachers and administration there now. My sons love it there and I have become more involved myself. The amount of parental support during my sons last concert was amazing to me. We packed the house! It would be great to see more parents volunteer as well.

The office staff has worked very well and very hard to assist me with anything I need as a parent. Teachers are fantastic with communication in several forms. My daughter loves all of her teachers. (Which I didnt think was possible!) extra curricular activities and fantastic. I feel the school is safe and secure. Drop off and pick up, although difficult to an extent is much better than most schools. I couldnt be happier.

This school year has been horrible. My son has had so many teachers and the year isnt over. 7 Math teachers, 3 Reading teachers, 4 AVID teachers. Thats not a stable environment for students to learn. I just recently saw the news regarding Sam Nelsen and his daughter. My child has also had an issue with this bully. He also has known Bianca for a few years. I understand the other child is autistic (my oldest son and nephew are also). There has to be some type of discipline or guidelines set in place. I know from experience this child rarely gets any consequences for his actions. I am appalled at the way Mr. Nelsen was treated. It says he was scaring other parents and kids, but it doesnt look that way. Although I wasnt there, it had to be traumatizing for Bianca to see her dad being arrested ( I personally know how that feels also). I pray and wish for the best for him and his daughter. (SN: I rated the school 2 stars because even though its hard to believe some of the staff are actually very helpful.)

My daughter attended this school for only a year due to us relocating. I loved this school! If it wasnt that I lived too far I would have kept her there and drove her everyday. Her teacher was amazing and so was the staff.

My name is Luis I have been in this school for about 2 years and this school is the worst school I have ever been to. Im in many honors classes and some teachers are good the other ones are terrible I have been bothered because of my physical appearance. I hate this school if youre thinking about putting any of youre child in this school please do not. it sucks and I would be saying bad words but I am trying to be professional as possible. I took time to right this comment/rating because I am responsible and a good student i hate this school with a passion.

I often stop to wonder what goes behind closed doors. This school under no circumstances allow a parent to make an occasional visit to or observe their child. They have a zero tolerance policy of not allowing any parent to make a one-time few minutes observation during class. My young child has been attending and have asked the office to allow me just a one time visit. They blatantly refused. No school should be allowed to be so tight - closed to parents of children they attend a school. They should be held totally responsible should anything ever happen to anyone at that school.

My child has attended the school for the past four years, so far I have been satisfied with the curriculum and the teachers and staff. In the last recent years the school has had changes on their faculty and administration staff. I have seen some very good deans and administrators leave for other schools; which leads to any responsible parent to wonder if there is a revolving door.For students who have seen Miss Molly in the main office as a constant and ever present part of the administration staff, is a very good thing. She seems to keep things in order, train new staff and obviously knows every aspect of the campus. This year we are not satisfied with the third-grade teachers assigned for our child but we are hoping that the year ends quickly so we can transition to some other more adept and highly trained individual. Overall we are satisfied. With the growing single-family homes around and location, the school will soon need to expand with new construction to benefit size of classes, the need for more staff and facilities.

This school is extremely unorganized. The office staff is horrible as well as the records department. I have been waiting 2 weeks for them to send my daughters transfer papers. They never return you call and they are completely oblivious when it comes to helping the students and parents. My child stood outside 5x waiting on school bus that NEVER came. As a result I had to leave work in order to take her. Picking up your child from a school function is the worst experience EVER due to lack of organizational skills. I waited almost 2 hours in front of the school in traffic while they pulled each student out of a dance one by one screaming their names for parent pick up. Education wise I give them 4 stars. But some of the teachers and office staff ESPECIALLY the spanish woman at the front desk need to be replaced.

The worst school ever,students go thru too many unqualified teachers in each semester, and get stuck most of the time with substitutes that have no idea what going on, and to show they are doing something they are sending students to dean .Teachers dont put regularly grades online,they wait till its one week before the end of semester, so as parents,we have no updates on our kids progress,and its too late to help them on what they are struggling on.Another big issue there,there is no communication between parents and teachers,so you email them,if u r lucky, they will get back with u after 2 weeks,and if you call and leave a message,I guarentee u you will never here from them.Teachers constantly repeat to students that they hate this shool,that why a lot of them left.There is no fairness there,they treat students so bad,and if your parents work there or friends with an employee, your r all set.The principal cant do everything by her self,she needs to hire a very strong and educated staff,and make sure that every teacher is doing her job,instead of being on their cell non stop.If they want their students to succeed,there staff need to follow the rules by the book( meaning everything).School score and review are very very bad.Students are way behind the standard .another big issue, there is no toilet paper in the bathroom, and this is not 1 time thing,its everyday, what hygiene is this.Recently teacher sexually involved with a studentWe are seeking for someone from osceola school district to get involved

I have been to this school for a good 6 years (7th grade now and still in here.) and I can tell you this school was good until the tech teacher left (the one who lasted like 2011-2014), thats when this school went into the blackhole. Bad teachers coming/ teachers leaving, no more morning announcements on the SMART board, Easily getting in trouble, terrible bathrooms, etc. Oh yeah, I was eating lunch today and one of the janitors forced me to throw away my trash when I was still eating. How rude! There are good stuff for the school like the new touchpad that makes you put in the your ID so you dont have to talk into the cashiers ear and how they added windows 10 (finally) and new smartboards. Also, FIND NEW HIRES FOR THIS SCHOOL! I mean, our new band teacher is basically torturing us, telling us to freeze even after we played like 5 songs (INCLUDING SCALES) like SERIOUSLY? He also obviously doesnt care for us and has NO experience as a band teacher because if he DID hell actually help us. A band teacher from celebration high school came and completely DEMOLISHED this conductor and helped us, taught us a few tricks, etc and you see westsides band teacher completely shocked. Like, really? So, what Im saying is, do better westside, your a 3/5 in my book or a 6/10. Nadia Winston or any other staff, PLEASE READ THIS BECAUSE WE NEED TO MAKE THIS SCHOOL INTO A B+ AT LEAST. In conclusion, I really care about westside and hope it grows bigger and gets more Bestity but we still need to fix this

I was a student at this hellhole of a school at first when it opened it was great my mom still works there (sadly) but after a few years bullying was every where the teachers always acted like they are the victims they threat to hit students and claim they wont get in trouble because they are friends with the deans and if they dont like you they will give you minors for the smallest mistakes there are good teachers but they are very rare my mom was harassed by bullies and the deans did nothing my mom (somehow) likes the principal even though she does NOTHING about the problems makes the teachers pay for student supplies the only thing parents can do is attend the students grading ceremonies I see the cameras record bullying happening but the deans do nothing unless they have a weapon I had to keep my head down and not answer any questions in fear of being humiliated by the teacher and classmates Im happy I left in the 7th grade I was in this hellhole since it opened have a good day never send you students here they wont learn anything they will only here the teachers rant on about how other students act will get them fired and expects it to work even though thats why some students act the way they to get bad teachers fired in the 5th grade there was a teachers pet who beat students who didnt agree with her IN FROUNT OF THE TEACHER some smart students might start figuring out who I am since I saw the worst of this school and never the good at first it was okay then it became hell for both teacher and students alike I went to a pshycogist (I dont know how its spelled sorry) just to cope with all that I saw here I worried so much about my friends hoping they were gonna be ok the next day in 3rd grade we got recess taken away to replace with kickball because our teacher didnt want to stop wining (you know who you are) in 4th grade the teacher was so bad that if you made one mistake you would be yelled at and if you didnt like her and made the mistake of saying that in her earshot she would move you and give you a minor just because you dont like her does this sound like a good school it deserves to be demolished and replaced with a good school with a higher budget if you were a student you had to pay for everything GOOD DAY NEVER SEND YOUR KIDS HERE EVER this is Trace signing off

Ive heard a teacher scream and curse at a student during FSA testing . and fith grade lost 50% of its freedom and the learning website i-ready bores everyone out of their mind and the technology they use for teaching is behind .

Ive been to this school seens 2014 and its the worst,the teahers are sooo rude and the bathrooms...ewww their dirty and the food OMG the worst theres only pizza and my brother cant go to that school no more becouse the teacher penched his finger to the door and my mom reported it and she wanted to see what happened but in the camaras but they said no and the thing they always say is you say to your parents you did not do that but we have camaras to prove it...so why dont they want us to see the camaras what happened mmm thats weird oh and they were giving my little brother marks like black mark and do you know whats makes me mad the principal did not fire them by doing that,so i tell you dont go to westside k-8 school am warning you dont do it.

Last year my family moved from Altamonte to Kissimee. This was unfortunately the only school my kids could go to. I must say I cannot wait until this school year is over because I will never have my kids go to that school ever again. The lack of professionalism, Dicipline, and quality of teachers and staff is terrible. The Pettyness and non sense is riddicoulous. I feel very sorry for any kids that will attend this school. The whole system in Florida schools is garbage. These kids are being set up for mayor failure. The quality of the teachers is embarrassing. They do not treat the kids fairly and do not take appropriate actions when needed. Oh and if your kid needs to use the restroom a teacher refused to let my child go which I will be taking immidiate action tomorrow. So do your kids a favor and avoid them from attending this school. Not once have I ever had an issue until my kids started this school last year.

I am a student here at Westside. Their motto is, Westside is the best side!I call bull.The teachers here so far have not made much effort of improvement, with the exception of a few individuals.The advanced classes youre child that you are so proud of is taking, most likely isnt advanced.Youre child that is.The roaches that have filled my portable, (as there is no more space in the actual school,) had kicked us out of the room. We had no room for a week.The bullying issue has gotten out of hand.My brother, who has been here for since the school started, now in 8th grade, has been bullied from the start, got sent to the deans office, and got ISS because he kicked a bully lightly in the shin, after the bully kept flicking him repeatedly and wouldnt stop. (This account is being used by his sister to write this.)I have theatre and my teacher has been out for 2 weeks. Everyday the administration they have to come to sub, because we dont have enough substitutes, is always late. So about half the time we are doing nothing but sing to pass the time.So, do you still think that, Westide is the best side?

Hey,i go to that school and love it and my brother is there too.

My son goes to this school and Im not pleased with it, they have to many substitute teacher my son came to this School with A and B now all he gets is C. He complains to me about the teacher not attending to him when he needs help and they give minors for every single thing the child does. My child got jumped by three boys for no apparent reason, just because they felt like jumping him.

I mean tbh I was a former student here and graduated 2014 tbh it was ok at the end but the pass years no I came to this school in 5th grade and behavior was a problem students were very rude and disrespectful towards teachers especially subsitutes but then 6th grade was good honestly but then 7th grade with the new changes of staff it was horrible too many teachers leaveing and the subs werent working out with the students too many discipline issues because of the subsistutes we had a gang related issue here as well with no administration supervision and our former principal quit the school as well in which we had to bring a new oneIn to clean the mess up and it didnt work out either then 8th grade came around and it was the best year yea it was strict because of the new dean but it was fun we had a first ever carnival even more dances were being made and tbh I wish it became that way years ago then all the mess in the pass but hey it is what it is and ms.winston is why it became better and I sure hope she will still make it the best !!!

This is the worst school I have ever seen terrible communication. They dont have any special events, plays, shows that parents are allowed to go to. This was my sons kindergarten and I miss out on knowing anything about what it is they are teaching him. Their policies are ridiculous, staff is rude, teachers take it upon themselves to stick misbehaving students in corner seats by themselves without even telling the parent until the end of the year. Then the structure of the school they dont get parents involved in anything. The school is so locked down that if there was an emergency I couldnt get to him. They expect parents to use their own medical and car insurance if anything happens to the child while under their care which is another issue because I refuse to put my child on the bus because of it which means dealing with the poorly designed drop off and pick up areas. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be sending him elsewhere next year. This school also does not know how to handle kids with adhd or other behavior issues.

Ill be honest.Im a student in Westside K-8.The deans and administration treat us as if we were prisoners,the classes are horrible,they teach kids how to cheat other than teaching them the right way,and in that Westside some of the teachers act as if we were delinquents.Ive onlybeen in this school 5 days,And I already hate it.That says a lot for a school that supposedly has a 4-5 star as a rating
