I am a black belt at Nokado (the one in Northport) That is my second family and trust me, I easily made friends with everyone there and it will do the same for you!! (Everybody there are really, really nice) We will help you protect yourself and it will definitely come in handy.
Nokado is an amazing place for your children to train. They will learn respect, how to protect themselves, public speaking, and discipline. The friendly staff is always there to guide your children. I would highly recommend going to Nokado.
You will not find a more dedicated staff and Sensei! For children as well as adults, this is the best martial arts school. Give it a try and you will quickly become a part of the Nokado family for life!

This school has been amazing. From the instructors to the owner, Nokado is first class all the way. My daughter has been going to the school fo r4 years and loves it. Her self esteem is much better because of her attending this school.
I signed my 5 year old daughter up at Nokado in Kings Park in July of 2018. She is TINY and in kindergarten I started to notice that she was often being physically manipulated by her peers, ie; pulled by her arm or hand, pushed to a destination by her shoulders etc. She didnt say anything to her peers as she didnt want to hurt anyones feelings. The day I signed her up I remember another parent remarking this is the best thing you can do for your child and now, going on 8 months, I couldnt agree more. The owner and his staff are phenomenal with the kids. My daughter LOVES going to class, has made friends, but more importantly has gained self confidence to start standing up for herself and has even deployed self defense moves on the bus (a wrist lock to thwart a person trying to pinch her). If you can relate to this review, you will not regret signing up.
My 2 sons have been training here for 5 years. They are dedicated and look forward to training here when they are scheduled...They are testing shortly for their black belts at 8 and 10 years old truly an amazing accomplishment! The staff, owner, and clients they have at this facility are indeed an inspiration to the ju jit su community.Would not go anyplace else, very clean, friendly and motivating environment!
I found Nokado School of Self Defense when it became important to my wife and I to provide our children with the confidence to defend themselves in this often unpredictable world.I truly found the Master. So glad to train at Nokado!
My daughter has been going to classes at Nokado school of self defense for about a year and a half now. She has learned the confidence I was hoping for (she has always been extremely shy), respect (the most important thing in the world, according to sensei, and I agree!), along with self defense. She has learned how to use her voice against bullies- standing up to them when she has needed to. Without her training, I know she would have bowed down to them. Sensei O is generous and caring with the children, and with the community. He is often hosting free womens self defense classes (so much fun!), or a free night to train with your child. You can really tell how much he cares about these kids, and the community as well. His staff will spend one on one time with your child if they are struggling to remember some of the movements. I knew my child would gain the ability to defend herself, but I never realized Nokados impact would reach into our home life, and her schooling as well. Her grades have gone from way below average, to 90s and higher in the time shes been training. Could be a coincidence, sure. Might not be too. She looks forward to her training, has fun, gets great exercise, and is really learning a life skill. Couldnt be happier with our experience at Nokado!
Discipline, respect, confidence, and self defense.....this is what Nokado represents and imparts on its students. It doesnβt end once you leave the dojo, but becomes a way of life.
