This is a great school for many reasons. The teachers are great, the campus is incredible, and the curriculum is engaging and fun. Its a little disconnected from the parents, and you have to wear uniforms almost every day...but this school is incredible and top of the line for any student!

I like this school. It is better than the other schools I went to but the teachers do have their favorites and they will be mean to you if your parents dont do anything for the school. But all in all it is a good school.

I like most of my teachers but one of mine is not a very good teacher and I dont really dont like most of the admin. Good education and very strict but everything other than that I dont really like it. Also the hallways can still get crowded. Oh yeah and I dont like the dress code. I think that they could make it less strict and it would improve moral.

The administration of this school is absolutely toxic. They love to choose favorites- and if your parent doesn’t do volunteer work, work at the school, or if you get one bad grade in one of your teacher’s classes they’ll hate you. It’s so stressful. They’ll treat kids that they don’t like so immaturely. It disgusts me. This school needs so much work with their administration. You never have any privacy here and they love to control what you do on your phones. I understand the fact that you can’t use your phones in school of course- but sometimes it’s just way too much. You can’t do anything without someone questioning you for it and making assumptions. The school just loves to invade your privacy. In conclusion- the administration is really the big issue here. If your parents don’t donate loads of money to the school or work there- chances are you won’t be liked very much.

I’ve attended since the second grade (I’m in the eighth grade now), and while many of the teachers are nice, there are a few who let favoritism, biases, feelings toward people alter treatment. One administrator called a group of eighth graders degenerates.while they had acted up and made a mess in the lunch room, this crossed the line and in my opinion. Some of the administration treat middle schoolers with this attitude because of the actions and choices of a few. While some teachers there are truly treasures there are a few that are completely incompetent or inadequate. The buildings and facilities are quite nice, and I have to acknowledge the fact that our schools grades are above average. Being in the school for a while I have come to notice that the school promotes leadership, but the only students who can make a change are the administrators favorites. While I am a little biased against the school since i am a middle schooler and kind of conditioned by my environment to hate every second of it, I have to acknowledge when they do something right. Two steps forward and one step back is still a step forward. Every interesting new Friday activity is inevitably replaced the next week with bland desk work. This review will most likely be brushed over because of my age or the length but I hope this helps I guess.btw to f you criticize the school they will literally crucify you. The staff needs to learn how to take criticism.

The North Carolina Leadership Academy was conceived as a program that would prepare young people for college success, and develop young people as leaders for their communities, state and nation. The founders of the school had similar experiences in attending leadership-focused school programs for their secondary education, as well as college. Ultimately, we wanted to develop a public school program that was accessible, without significant financial burdens to families, in attending such a school. The school in its second year is now housed on a brand-new 40-acre campus, with a new school building and gymnasium. The NC Leadership Academy is still a new school, and we have much to prove. But through our 18-month journey so far, we have built an excellent academic foundation, a strong leadership & citizenship program through Civil Air Patrol, and we are now expanding the athletic and extra-curricular programs offerings. More good things to come for our students and families!

I spent the worst four high school years of my life at this school. We were used as guinea pigs the entire time, our teachers were constantly changing- they were fired or left after a couple months- the schools organization was a joke and the administration is toxic. The dress code and many of the “rules” were also ridiculous. Bullying is a major problem among students, whether it be from peers or teachers. They are quick to spout out vicious rumors and gossip, or just be extremely mean straight to your face. I was bullied relentlessly and couldn’t go to anyone for help, teachers are supposed to be there to protect you and help you but they were some of the biggest offenders or chose to turn a blind eye. I went home everyday feeling completely alone and helpless to what was going on- all four years. The teachers are also very bad about choosing favorites, and God help you if they decide you aren’t a favorite. The only truly good teachers I experienced were Mrs. Reaves and Mr. Lebrecht- they have the students’ backs and their best interest at heart. The academics are nothing to be impressed with, there is no pushing students to their full potential. I don’t know about the elementary or middle school but unless there are some major changes going on in the way the high school is run, and in the hearts of the students and teachers, then don’t bother going here. I wish I hadn’t.

My son started here a couple months after regular public school started (CC) after I was fed up with the behavioral issues he was having. Hed never had any issues until his public school 1st grade teacher. Since pulling him from that awful place he hasnt had one behavioral issue at NCLA. He loves his new school and all it has to offer. His teachers are amazing (Ms. Turner & Mrs. Lineberry). Its so awesome to pick up my boy and see a huge smile on his face and have him actually be able to tell me what he learned that day.

Personally I think the school is ok, most of the staff are nice except the main ones. There is a big issue with dress code and there are alot of miss information and there is a grey line of what you can wear. First impressions are everything if you get one of the Staff members over your grade or even over other grades they will nit pick you on everything so just try and do the right thing. Dont forget a shirt because if you dont have one or the right one then they will make you sit in the office until you can get one. If you can not get a shirt you will be made to sit in the office for the remander of the day.
