Let me start by saying that Im a senior software engineer with over a decade in the industry. I work largely on enterprise cloud applications as a full stack engineer and architect.Having witness and assisted an individual going through their curriculum I strongly advise against attending Centriq. Its a horrific waste of time and money and I actively advise against hiring Centriq grads at my current employer due to what I experienced. What little they actually teach you is either incorrect, immensely dated, or bad practice. Most, if not all, of their instructors seem to be failed software engineers that graduated from Centriq, got 1-2 years of experience (at most as some had none) and came back to teach as they couldnt actually do their jobs. Youll end up having to relearn almost everything they cover. As such you are better off pursuing self paced learning from online courses. Youll learn more relevant and up-to-date coding practices and topics without being mislead. Youll save yourself a lot of money as well. They have little concern if you actually understand what they teach you. They dont care if you are struggling. They dont care if you find a job. They just want your money. Their main concern is to convince you to stay in the program long enough to get your money. I can only assume they are lying about how many graduates find jobs. Last my acquaintance checked, no one from her class had managed to find a job. Most had given up and returned to previous work.Take it from an experienced professional in the field. Dont go to Centriq. If I see a resume from a Centriq grad, Im tossing it. Save your money and dont reward these con artist.

As an instructor at Centriq, I cant be completely objective. But after teaching in a large junior college in California, a local college here, Oracle University locations, and many small classrooms, I can honestly say Centriq has the best administration and staff that Ive ever seen.Centriq grew from a small operation 25 years ago to where weve had the need to take over an entire building to house its career training program and corporate classes. Ive taught both types and respect how theyve put the students desire to be trained for an IT job first and not just to acquire certificates. Theres a reason why theyve lasted when their competitors have not.Instructors will go where they feel like they are both learning and making a difference in students lives. Sometimes that means they have to leave teaching to learn from the real world. More teachers have stayed at Centriq than Ive ever seen except in an academic tenure situation. We teach classes of one or two when useful but always love a large class like those of the 16 week Microsoft web developer or network admin tracks. I can see those students making a difference in Kansas City, and now St. Louis, regions. One of my favorite students was making six figures in four years after his graduation.I regularly speak with the account representatives and find that they encourage a relationship with their clients and not just try to sell my classes. I love getting on the phone with them so people understand whats in my classes. They dont really have to do much to gain clients trust since we have a good reputation in KC.So, I would be a student without hesitation if I wasnt teaching all the time. My time away from the classroom is spent studying and developing new classes. I really cant think how we could do much better and if you have any feedback, Im sure you can find me online or just come visit us.

Nice building and staff but the screens in the testing room are old and hard to read from. As I continue testing for certifications, Ill have to look for another venue.

First off, the first person you meet at Centriq (Russ) is a manipulative liar. I went there to learn coding, all my placement tests confirmed that Id be perfect for coding, since my brain seems to be able to easily find mistakes and inconsistencies in patterns. For whatever reason Russ went out of his way to talk me out of coding and into the IT Admin side of things. Sure, my fault for going along with it.Dont get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Centriq, and made some friends along the way. The problem didnt become apparent until I graduated and began to look for a job. I slowly started to realize that all the advertising of you will be paid more was aimed at high school kids and factory workers who would be thrilled to get a $35k a year job. I set my sights on $45k (a $10k pay drop for me) and was laughed at by the career services person. Still I applied and applied for hundreds of jobs. After 8 months of being turned down over and over again I gave up. So thanks Centriq for making me waste $22,000 and 4 month of my life to be turned down from lower paying jobs.IT Admin jobs will not hire you if you have visible tattoos and piercings, no matter how well you learn and understand the material. Shouldve just stuck with coding. Now I have to teach myself since I used the last of my GI Bill to learn skills that people with tattoos cant do apparently.

I have to select at least one star to post a review, otherwise I would have given them zero stars. This place is definitely not the place to go for people without any prior IT experience. My son was 19 years old when he went through their program Fall/Winter 2018/2019...6 students in his group and only one person found a job...which he had years if prior experience, but needed up to date knowedglede. His job didnt even work out though. I wish I would have given this review a long time ago. My son wishes hed never had went there...because hes $24,000 in debt now & is going to JCCC to get more in-depth training on the things Centriq touced on for a week then moved onto the next subject. I like to know the REAL number for more people without any prior IT experience job placement. Im reporting them to the BBB.

Mediocre training. Instructors are almost all Centriq grads, some with barely any field experience. I knew all this before i signed up. They do provide you with up to date material, but the hands on is a joke. What sold me was the 94% job placement they advertise. Well its been 6 months and 3 out of 8 in our class got a job... you do the math. Oh and Vets, dont waste any of your GI BILL here. You can get a much better degree at a four year college for about the same cost. Im sure its not long before theres a class action against them and the GI Bill not being accepted any longer.

Ill keep this short and sweet, because if youre considering Centriq you most likely like it that way.First of all, there is not a more involved staff in their students success than Centriq. I personally went the community college route and never ended up finishing because the classes were long, and quite honestly I would learn maybe one chapter of a book in a week, sometimes two weeks?Centriq is not for the slow paced, but it is for those who are ready and willing to work. Centriq from the moment you set foot in the door is committed to you success giving you every tool you will ever need and responding to any questions you have almost immediately.Nearly every instructor at Centriq gave out their personal cell phone number to call them if you had a question, but they would not just give you the answers. They would help you troubleshoot until you found the answer on your own which engraves that information to your brain. They are well respected around the area and actually know what they are doing. It is a brain dump, but if you are willing to work there is no better decision than to come to Centriq. Thanks Centriq, you changed my life for the better.

Centriq was the fastest, most intense 5 months of my life! I followed my gut feeling and enrolled in the software developer track. I have never looked back! My weeks fly by working a job that I absolutely love! Ive been finished over 2 years and couldnt be happier.Sure its pricey, but you get what you pay for... and what I got was:- Teachers and staff that truly care- Instructors that teach real world skills in a small class room environment- A kick butt placement team that works with you from beginning to end- A stream of personal contacts that I have met throughout and to date- A continuing education system through the Alumni GroupFollow the guidance and work hard and you cant go wrong.

Life altering. No exaggeration. I drove a truck for 17 years then made the decision to go to Centriq. A very tough 4 months but worth every second. Between the instructors and staff it is impossible to fail unless you want to. Tons of job opportunities. Best endorsement that I give is this: my son was trying to decide between a 4 year school or Centriq, I talked him into Centriq and now he is a well paid programmer at a local company. I would recommend to anyone who is serious about a new career path.

Im only four weeks in, but I can feel the family/team atmosphere. Your program is a solid example that I wanted to create for non-profit for veterans to obtain professional networking. You not only prepare us for jobs, but also help our first impression to employers. So far, the only thing I might add is hands on documentation of trouble-tickets. I remember when I signed for computers in the Army, and we documented every serial number. I am certain it will be at least to that level of detail, but havent actually seen an example. I cant wait to get deeper into the coursework, though.

After graduating from high school I immediately began my higher education here at Centriq. The Instructors and Career Councilors all really love their jobs, and show it with the passion they put into every student that comes through. If it wasnt for what the instructors taught me and all the help the Councilors gave me I would still be working at grocery stores, but instead only 6 months after graduating high school, I am working a full time $15 an hour job in the profession that I have always dreamed of, I am at least 10 times further in my life and career than I would be if I went to college, thanks to Centriq.

TL;DR: Centriq was fantastic and the teachers there realy care about your success in the program. Completely worth it if you are willing to put in the time. :)I started out as a Pre-K Teacher but really wanted to work with computers. I didnt want to go back to school for another 4 years so I ended up going to Centriq after the success my husband had going through the Admin Side. I went through the Developer Side and have never been happier in my new job. It was intense, but if you put in the hard work it really pays off. The teachers at Centriq are really invested in the program and both my Husband and I can attest to its success. He has been in his new job for 3 years, and I have been at mine for 2. We have now had 5 Friends/Family Members go through the program and they are all happy at their new jobs as well. Centriq is completely worth the money if you are serious about breaking into the IT World.

The only constructive criticisms I would offer Centriq would be to add a class or classes about Macs and iOS. Prospective employers are asking what I know about Apple products. Also, maybe Centriq could incorporate the Microsoft Office classes into the IT admin career track.

Over priced, they push you in a direction with higher cost than the track you most want. Upon starting they give you a $500 Dell with Office installed but your cost is almost $2000. And if youre not on their good side for complaining, they have a blackball list and suddenly youre out -- Out the $20 grand this quick pace, joke of a system cost and off any local recruiters hire list. Not at all a company for the people but purely profit and greed leads this company.

I spent years as a technology hobbyist and decided that I did not want to follow a career in customer service, sales or business. I then spent many months researching the fastest ways to break into an industry. Centriq came highly recommended from my corporate IT connections. Though it was the most expensive investment in my life it has also been the most life changing experience in my life. It rounded out my knowledge, gave me heat seeking focus, prepared me for the professional world of IT giving me confidence and finally gave my resume the notoriety to get me into interviews. Centriqs reputation may be the most powerful thing about them. About halfway through the IT Admin program I decided that the absolute most I could chew off with my current experience and training was a Jr. Systems Engineer position. Before I graduated I accepted a position in the Ericsson NOC in Overland Park. After 3 months I moved to Netsmart Technologies accepting a position as a Systems Support Engineer where I currently reside. I have doubled my past years salary. Did you hear that? Doubled. Now, the loans I incurred are massive but I am making payments over double the amount of the minimum payment and plan to be debt free within 2 years. I cannot stress enough how much I have grown from Centriq. Get on your grind and take what you in this world.
