We have been blown away with the program here at Olsons Martial Arts Academy. The confidence boost it has given our daughter(already) has been amazing. They are very thorough with their instruction and wanting to see the student moving up in the ranks.I admit, I wasnt sure what to expect and had no clue when my daughter asked and expressed interest in martial arts. This place has made me feel at ease.I look forward to seeing my future black belt get her goals met.

Our daughter was getting bullied at school. Therapy didnt really seem to be helping, at least not alone. 3yrs ago my son said he wanted to “do karate”. After some research we found Olson’s. I expected maybe 6 months tops before my son was on to something else.Well 3yrs later and my son is on the verge of black belt.There’s not enough positive and wonderful things I can say about this place.They have been an instrumental piece of shaping my son into the young man he is becoming.My wife and I have had job opportunities that would take us away from Johnson City and one of the biggest reasons we have passed is because it would take my son away from Olson’s. And that just a fact.We love them as we love our family, because that’s what they are. Family.

This place is AMAZING. My son has been a member for almost 7 months now and absolutely loves it. Olsons Martial Arts Academy has been such a positive influence in my sons life. Since starting I have noticed significant change in my sons focus and self confidence. He is also doing things like holding doors open for everyone, calling everyone ma’am and sir, and having such good manners overall. The instructors are wonderful. There are many martial arts programs in the Tri cities but this one covers everything from A to Z. Give it a try they typically offer two weeks free.

Just had the unique and unexpected experience of being told my 7 year old could not visit/ drop in for class when in the area..Ive got 40 students in a class and dont have the time-- (for 41 --Unless we wanted to re locate to Johnson City and sign up for the lifetime Manson, uh Olson believer package)... So much for the spirit and brotherhood of TKD !...A 7 year old.!??!.. So I guess this is my cue to have a talk with my 7 year old about commercialism vs trade/craft, love of art vs money, image vs reality etc...Mcdojos This is the world we are living in folks...You wouldnt think it would drift into the realm of the innocence of youth--but apparently greed and vanity have found their way into small town America--right up to the front door of Olsons Mercantile! Nells seems to mean well, but watch out for Mrs.Olson.

A true family oriented martial arts school. Staff is extremely friendly, caring and motivating. They offer multiple styles for any one at any experience, and in any physical condition. One of my favorite aspects of this school is how the help to extend training (exercise, respect, reading, community service, and self control) beyond the classroom and integrate it to everyday routines.

We are so thankful for the Olson family and all of their first class staff. They do a wonderful job of reinforcing our values and parenting in a positive, caring environment. Its called an academy for a reason. The programs and curriculum are all designed to reinforce their values of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, respect, and victory. The instructors at Olsons are patient, taking the time to explain to students why a self-defense move should be performed a certain way or why a pivot must be made for a certain move. Lessons involve not only martial arts but also valuable leadership skills, concentration, and dedication with value reaching far beyond the mat and the colored belt. All the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, encouraging parents to observe even the advanced classes. All are welcome.

UPDATE: We had to take a break from Olsons when Covid happened. We have been back a little over a month now and we love it. My grandson benefits from the structure and discipline with each class. Our family benefits from the support we receive from each instructor. Autism is hard sometimes,, but with Olsons Martial Arts Academy on our side, we will persevere....We absolutely love the friendly and supportive people at Olsons Martial Arts. Schedules are flexible and staff is very knowledgeable. We look forward to many years of training.

Kieth and the team at Olsons are superb. I was looking for a place to train Jui Jitsu while I was in town for a few months and Olsons has been absolutely incredible. The instructors and students have been super warm and welcoming and there is a great positive vibe at the classes.Everyone is trying to get better so questions are encouraged and I noticed people at every age and skill level were willing to help me improve various techniques.If you are experienced or just wanting to give martial arts a try, drop in to Olsons and check them out.
