World class dance instructors centered in a welcoming atmosphere for learning.I, like most guys, was initially intimidated by dance lessons. The studio’s staff was warm and incredibly patient. After only a few lessons, I became confident in my ability to dance socially. I’ve taken lessons at other studios in the Jacksonville area, but the quality of instructors at the Arthur Murray South Jacksonville (Mandarin) is head and shoulders above others.My wife and I take regular lessons now. Our goal is to enjoy ourselves in a social atmosphere, not to worry about competing or impressing anyone else. We enjoy this physical activity, in a social atmosphere.If you’re curious, you might look into a few inexpensive introductory lessons. Taking regular lessons can get expensive, but it’s taught us skills that we’ll use and enjoy for the rest of our lives. Doubt I could say that about almost any other social activity.

I started a 3-lesson introductory package almost 3 years ago and havent looked back. My neighbor brought me to the studios complimentary group lesson for first-timers and l was hooked immediately. The instructors are top-notch whether youre looking to improve upon your technique or simply have fun social dancing at the Friday night parties. The teachers and students are so welcoming to newcomers too. Marina and Vasily, the owners, run a first class studio making sure their instructors are well-trained to meet your needs and ability. Our studio has produced, and travels with, national champions, but also puts as much effort into an in-studio 50s themed dance party or a Halloween party. Trying a class was one of the best things Ive ever spontaneously said Yes too. Ive competed in a few competitions and several showcases now. I dont worry about nerves - its all about FUN and feeling the freedom to enjoy the music and movement. Added bonus - mobility, range of motion, and memory recall is the best its ever been. I started at 48 years old - proving youre never too old to start something new! Put one foot in front of the other and come on in. ☺💃🕺

The studio is my temple of dance for the past 7 years. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The instructors are friendly and consummate professionals.I have danced with Vasily, actually learning HOW to dance. He has patience beyond the pale, yet while meeting me at my level, very subtly moving me beyond. I am using muscles I didnt know I had. Its hard work, but necessary if I want to go the distance. Excellent professionals dance teachers!!

I started at Arthur Murray South with my husband. We had tried other studios and were not impressed. When we first tried here it was like coming home! Not only are the teachers top notch, but all of them know your name & treat you like a friend from the get go! Their Friday night dance parties are awesome. Even if you’d just taken your first lesson that day, EVERYBODY dances with you, shows you what to do and is welcoming—both instructors & long time students. You can learn to dance just for fun or to compete—everybody’s taken into their family. Really.Five years ago My husband & I moved to NC. Two years later he was killed & I suffered a very severe spinal injury. I moved back to Jacksonville & rejoined the studio. (You don’t need a partner.) Trust me, if you have a spinal injury and are mobile, you want these guys! They taught me to walk with confidence again and I regained my balance & posture because of them. My orthopedist told me this is the best thing I could do and can do to remain active and mobile while having lots of fun.By the way, I’m 74 years old, dance in the showcases and you’d never know I have bars up my back & a fused spine!For those interested, yes, they also teach country two step.

The absolute best place to take dance lessons in Jacksonville, FL. I have been taking lessons there for 4 years and love it. Ive taken lessons all over the place and have found my home. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. They are good with everyone, from more advanced to very beginners. Youll get a lot more than just good instruction here. It feels like a family. The instructors here are excellent. Not only are they master dancers themselves and very good at teaching dance, they are also very kind and welcoming. The environment is always warm, friendly, and inviting, no matter your skill level as a student. For example, they always make a point to welcome you by name when you come in the door. They really foster a community of dancing here, and I find myself constantly saying This is so fun!

The Arthur Murray South Jacksonville studio is the best studio in the southeast. You cannot go anywhere in the area and receive the knowledge and technical training needed for ballroom dancing. Marina and Vasiliy Vlasov have hired the very best instructors for their studio. One can dance at whatever level determined in advance. The Vlasovs arrived in America with a dream. As a result, each person walking thru the studio door has the same opportunities and dreams available to them. Ballroom dancing is fun, educational, challenging and hard work. Everyone has been a beginner at some point. Some students have decided to start their dance journey over. Many students wish to grow and compete at local, state, national or world levels. Marina and Vasiliy can meet these goals! Three students recently returned from a successful competition at the world renowned Blackpool Dance Festival in England.
