Just started but Jacob is an awesome person and instructor and has a lot of patience. Very welcoming and non judgmental. Easy to learn when you have an instructor that loves to teach.

Coach Jacob does a great job at instructing his students takes his time to help them learn, he will jump through hoops to help everyone. The gym as a whole has great people to be around and very solid team feeling to it. Everyone here is super nice and always willing to go the extra mile to help out teammates!!

Fantastic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school. Jacob’s a young guy that lives, eats, and breathes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. You can feel his passion for it every class. He’s very respectful even to us old guys and has the right skill set to form young minds as well. His technique is impeccable and I’m glad I found his school. I’ve been around the game a while and have seen a lot on the mats and Denizen Jiu-Jitsu is doing it right. I’m so thankful to be a part of it. I will be enrolling my son as soon as he’s old enough to train as well.

Jacob has created a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment for the kids classes. He is an experienced and patient instructor. The kids have fun while learning discipline. Jacob is able to balance different skill levels, so that all the kids can improve and learn from each other. Signing my son up was one of the best decisions I have made; he is always smiling.

This is an awesome place to train l, with great training partners. The head instructor Jacob Allphin is super patient and flexible to teaching to each students individuals needs. You will be pushed harder than you thought you could go and you will grow more than you expected. I would give this place more stars if I could!

We moved here from another state and tried a few of the other bjj studios in the area and found that Denizen was best for our family. Jacob has created an amazing atmosphere for learning jiu jitsu. Not only is he great, but so is the other staff and the students themselves. Everyone welcomed us with open arms and we felt like a part of the family immediately!Jacob has a ton of knowledge and is great with working with you at whatever level you’re at from brand new to seasoned vet. My kids (5 and 8) absolutely love going to the classes and actually look forward to them (what every parent dreams of).So if you’re in the area and looking for a jiu jitsu dojo please stop in to Denizen, you won’t regret it!

I have trained with Jacob and let me tell you he is one the top brown belts in the Houston area. He has a ton of experience teaching and with Denizen now under world champion black belt Ed Ramos...this gym will be a magnet for bjj players at all levels!! 5 stars!

Great gym for both new and experienced BJJ students. Everyone has a place here, from the serious competition players to the hobbyist. Head instructor Jacob is also great with kids and is super involved when teaching.
