Due to covid student loans were supposed to be in good standing but PIMA will put a court order on you. Don’t trust them. Even if your student account shows 0$ it’s still there and they lie. Extremely overpriced institute for what they offer. I would recommend going elsewhere.

I addressed the issue with my advisor & the dean of the program & later quit the program! Very knowledgeable woman, just rude af! Mendoza from the dental assistant program was so rude to one of the new instructors one time the new lady came in and tried to open the curtains in the room and she got yelled by ms mendoza everytime the new teacher would come in she would roll her eyes I felt so bad for her cause they both deserved to go to work and enjoy their jobs but you could tell how bad she was treated just cause she was new thr new teacher didnt even make it the whole year before she left.

Do not go here i’m only giving one star because that’s all I can give to give a review. If I could give 0 I would. This school will scam you like they did me, . They did not care how trained you were for clincials or concerns, unprofessional and rude, or after clinicals they just throw you out there after nine days of “training” and After everything you’ve done in a year.. on days that will only benefit them. Hardly answered direct questions.10k tuition for a certificate. When you could get 900$ at a community college. I wish I’d known better. Save your money and stress and go to a community college first or even a credible university.

After spending time and effort for the assessment and interview, I received an offer to join Dental Hygiene program. Then spend time and money for back ground and drug test; Physical exam, immunization test, make deposit ... I sent all these documents to director program Ms.Suzanna and she let me know I am not enrolled in DH program any more. It shocked me. Mr. Gerry and Ms. Kiana drop my spot without any inform or verify with me. My last conversation with Kiana on 10/1/20, she clearly told me she will hold my spot until 11/4/20, but after 9 days on 10/9/20 I found out I lost my spot. She freak me out. After what I have done so far in order to get into the program, they even did not inform me in official way before they give my spot to someone else. This is not professional way at all and they treat student without any respect. I wonder will they really care for their students or they just care about money.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I never post anything and felt the need to write a review. All they did is waste my time. This is for the Houston location.I originally inquired about the DMS program back in June. I was told to study and reach back out to my advisor September to take the tests. This is exactly what I did and got nowhere. I dont understand how this place even stays open if I cant even receive a call back from an advisor or the Director. When calling the 1800 number and the school directly you get the run around and an attitude. I asked to speak to someone else since my advisor would not call me back and he missed our appointments and was told theres noone else to help me and to email the director. I never received a call back or email. I bought all the necessary study guides and wasted my time and money. If they cant even be organized in getting me enrolled I cant imagine how there teaching would be.

Since starting here I’ve had a lot of great teachers and I would like to thank them all for being so wonderful. I would especially like to thank Mrs. Mendoza in the dental evening class. It’s already hard enough to come in every night and be focused after a long day of work but Mrs. Mendoza really challenges each one of her students to persevere and work through it. To put in our best effort and be the best we can be, she inspires us. Thank you, Mrs Mendoza! You’re truly amazing!

Waste of time. I wish I would have just applied at HCC. I did all that studying passing test and doing observation hours. All that to not get accepted in to the PTA program. From August all the way to November. Then I was told I would have to wait till December of 2020. I am not getting any younger. Instead of asking straight forward questions they ask trick questions. Had I known that. I would have never went here. Although those instructors who interviewed three people at the same time felt like I’m not qualified. I know who am as a person so I look at is as blessing. Thank you Mr.Carmichael for trying to help.

And don’t get me started on favoritism if the instructors don’t like you they will give you attitude for no reason and show no interest in you the instructors for dental assistant will make you feel like you’re ignorant if you ask a question over the topic following by “we cover this already” and roll your eyes at you they charge you 16k for education you could be getting at a community college covered by final aid so please take your money elsewhere

The Dental Assistant program was taught by Ms.Miller she gave us real world experience and included hands on training both administrative and clinical responsibilities. Will not ever recommend!. It has been a horrible experience. I was the only student in MY class that had paid in cash. The instructor was very helpful! But the front desk and career services (Sarah) were horrible. They will never return my emails. Or atleast call me back. I would drive an hour everyday for class and be there 15 minutes early I was always in time. And whenever I NEEDED to talk to one of them I had to drive because they would never answer the phone or my emails!. I just hate the fact that I had spend $ks of dollars for no reason when I could’ve used that money for my other school. And I needed my transcript for my other school and didn’t want to give it to me! After I told the front desk what I had to say she gave me my transcript. They are very unprofessional., I’m glad I had the opportunity to graduate from another school after I had graduated from this one!. Now I have a completely different career and I am glad for the second opportunity I was given. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!

If i could rate this location a 0 i definitely would. I applied for the sonography program and completed all my entrance requirements within a week and when my interview came along they asked me to arrive 30min early therefore, i arrived about maybe 45min early and filled out the written interview. i then waited about an hour in which the front secretary had to keep calling to see when they were going to come get me because it was taking so long. After a young lady came for me to walk me to the interview room and the two interviewers were just leaning back in the chair and made me feel as if they did not care about what i was saying at all in the interview in which i was convinced i was not going to be accepted to the program as soon as i left. i then waited a month and still hadnt heard back from anyone therefore i messaged the admissions person to ask what was going on and he then said he would get into touch and find out for me. it took at least another two weeks for me to finally find out that i was put on the waiting list. the thing that bothered me most is that they didnt get in touch with me to say if i got in the program or not and what i should do next as if they didnt care. they could have at least let me know and tell me to apply again next year.i regret even considering going to this school in the first place. i guess they didnt want my money. My advice to anyone who reads this is to try to go to another school.

Waist of money. The dental hygiene program costs $60,000. That is not even living expenses. You are forced to get private loans at that point, which could be interest rates up to about 12%, or more. UT and Lonestar are less than $20,000 with books, and everything out the door. You get lower interest rates, and an overall better education. Not to mention this school MAKES you sign a contract that you will not get pregnant during the program. I feel like that is a violation of rights, and people can still get pregnant with proper prevention. Why would you pay $60,000 for this??

No rating is justified as to how things were handled!! As a mother you want the best for your kids, age doesnt matter. Our daughter applied in June for the radiology program and completed the entrance exams even with having dyslexia and test anxiety. She also has completed two years at community college with a good GPA as well. Did an interview with the Director of the program, then was sent to do 4-hour observation at a hospital on the other side of town. She completed that and turned in the paperwork (notes) that was due by noon the following day. She placed calls to the advisor throughout the process and he had only had good things to say from what he was hearing. Then silence for about 2 1/2 weeks and then was told to be receiving a phone call letting her know the status of her application. Another week passed and still nothing. Then after another call to her advisor, he stated someone would be calling her within the next two days. Well that call came, and she was asked to come in for another interview with two other people. She arrived 20 mins early waiting 40 mins and then was taken back to an office where the asst program director and another person informed her right off the bat that the program was full and she didnt get in but would be placed on a waiting list but that was still not a guarantee a spot because they would be ranked accordingly. Then he proceeded to state her learning disability and tell her about her grades from community college and maybe she should go back and try to get better grades and then apply to the program again but he its not guaranteed that she will get into their program. I problem I have with the school is why call people back into the office then berate them in such a manner. I feel like she was discriminated because of her learning disability. She had a GPA 4.7 in HS!! In which I feel that is in violation and maybe TEA should be contacted. They shattered her dreams in a matter of minutes!! Making her feel like is she is a failure and that 2.8 GPA was nothing. She had a positive attitude throughout the process and enjoyed talking to the advisor as well as the director of the program about her goals. To which they both stated that they liked her strong determination she had. She was over the moon about the observation because she was told not many get chosen to go that far. My point is why call her back in to torment her in such a way? Why not send a letter or email stating the program was full? To add insult to injury her advisor called hours later to let her know she didnt get into the program. She informed him that she was called to go in first thing that morning and was informed in person. He was surprised to hear that because he was no clue that happened. He also was trying to get to apply for another program at the school. Miscommunication within that school needs to be addressed or handled in a better manner. This process was a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!!*Please note - I had to rate something because it wouldnt let me post otherwise

To anyone thinking of attending this school, please dont. I cannot speak for other programs but for the dental assisting, it is a complete waste of your money. You are so much better off attending a local community college or even the Saturday programs that are significantly cheaper. The education is a joke, I learned so much more in two months of externship in an actual dental office than nine months of classroom instruction. It just was not necessary and I cannot believe how much I paid for that. Also, the board and people in charge are ridiculous and will turn their backs on you and your education. Be careful of what office they send you to because not all doctors will treat you well and when they dont, dont count on the school to have your back and stand up for you. I gradute in July 2015 of last year as a CNA and found a job. The classes for the CNA were not hard. The cretification state exam on the written was easy if you studied and the skills exam was kind of little stressful. Overall, just study and practice for the exam. But, finding a job was challenging, it took me awhile. When searching for a CNA position, you need to be certified first and apply for the job. Mostly, all the healthcare places included hospitals wants you to be certified first. So, focus on taking and pass the CNA exam early. Then find the job later.Overall, the Pima Medical Institute was nice school. The only thing I did not like was the career services did not help me find a job. I had to do the search by myself. They did call me to see if I had founded a job, but mostly I did the search. The only thing they helped was I ask if they could help with my interview skills. They end up making a whole group section when I just asked them to teach me only by myself with one of the job placement advisor; its whatever I guess. This was the only thing I dislike about this school was no help from finding a job. So, you are on your own. Also, no free wifi-interenet is provide at that campus. -_-But, at the end I did not like my job or what I had studied for as a CNA. I realize I just did not like working in hospitals or home health. I only want to become a CNA to gain expericence so I could grow my medical background, contiune my classes to become a Register Nurse and see if the Nursing field was for me. Since, I worked at a hospital I did not liked at all working in that type of medical enviorment. I was not happy, so I quit my job and drop my RN classes. So, now I am changing my major and career path. Basically, I guess I was thankful for actually working in the medcial field, because I experience a hospital field around me of different careers and I thought really hard about it. I believe in my heart I made the right choice.

After speaking with other classes from years before and after I attended this schoolit was found that this is their pattern. Take your money and falsify claims that youve done something wrong, only if you arent white! Some instructors are great, nothing personal against the 2 good teachers, Starr and MJ.I recently ran into an instructor who used to work there, Pima fired him for false claims as well, Pima is smart enough to not come out and say you are brown so we actually dont want you in our building. You can earn this degree through MANY different programs, dont throw away $30,000+ for a money scheme. This school offers NOTHING HCC cant, and I guarantee HCC will respect you and your color.Dont let them make you think you need to drop this money for a real opportunity, the opportunity will be a waste of your time and money.

Take your cell phones if they see them. Dont let you have water bottles in the classroom. If you miss a day or two, the faculty calls to find out where you are like youre 13 and need your parents to call you in. Its extremely inappropriate to treat adults like so. If one misses a class, thats their problem. Not the schools.I decided to consider coming back for a new program: medical assisting. Now, I will say that their program is reasonably priced. However, I have found other schools that give you more to the program like EKG, stress testing, and even X-Ray with limited scope. That can look amazing on a resume. And they dont treat you like a child. That treat you like the adult you are.I was brought into a room to be interrogated by a woman that doesnt know me, tried to catch me in a lie that I wasnt telling. She told me I had to write a paper to prove Im worthy of being part of this program. Im sorry, from what I know, Im am worth the education. However, the program is not.I have a bachelors degree from Oklahoma state university and have a great life. No children to worry about and happy married. You dont know me, nor should you judge people upon reason for leaving. I will make sure this gets out.Oh, and by the way. The woman that treats you like a petty little child is KAREN DAREJEAN.she knows exactly who I am in writing this and thats fantastic. Because the know it all needs to hear it.DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL IF YOU FEEL YOUR EDUCATION AND MONEY ARE WORTH AS MUCH AS YOU ARE!!!

I attended pima about a year ago, i HATED IT. The teacher would never put in our grades, even after a week of work. MS KAREEN DARJEAN is such a disrespectful person, i couldnt attend class because of a personal reason and she just kept interrupting me, telling me i wasnt going to be successful in life and said that i was going to be expelled. THIS SCHOOL IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, THE TEACHERS WILL PASS YOU EVEN YOU FAILED BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT TO MESS UP THE GRADUATION RATES. ANYTHING YOU DO WILL GET YOU EXPELLED AND THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY. SOME OF THE STAFF ARE SO RACIST, I ONCE HEARD A GIRL COMPLAIN ABOUT ANOTHER STUDENT COPYING HER WORK AND THE TEACHER TOLD HER NOT TO SAY ANYTHING THAT THEY WERE GOING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WHEN YOU GO TO THE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY, EVERYTHING SEEMS GREAT BUT TRUST ME IT ISNT AT ALL.

I went back in 2014, graduated in 2015.In all honesty, this is by farrrrrr the worst school ever! They are supposed to find you externship sites were you will get hired which they promise but end up finding you which ever place they can that needs the free laborI went to my site from April 20th to June 8 to find out maybe a week or two after I started that i really wasnt going to get hired but I should drop off resumes in that building. For starters you WILL not get a job at ALL if you dont get hired by your site because every single damn place you apply to DEMANDS experience not externship & also that youre a certified or registered MAAfter the externship was getting close I was so happy to leave the site because all they wanted was the free work! Making me do so much paper work and filing in for the actual MA when she freaking took off! The only thing that saved me was after I repeatedly looked for a job for over a month I found out that the girl quit thus them giving me her job because I knew everything already. If it wasnt for that I probably would still be without a job right now. The career service people only care about getting you whatever bs place they can findThis is a school interested in your money ONLYThey will sweet talk you and make you think that youre going to get a good paying job after graduating but nope, lies! This not getting hired or getting horrible ghetto clinics happened to almost all of my classmates!! When I saw them at the final interview they all gave this school a bad review because it just put you in debt and now most dont even do this MA bs anymoreI studied by myself and ended up passing the CMA test through AAMA because Pima lied saying oh were going to do something so the tests will be here so you can certified, or hold study groups bs they never didYou can take the same classes at HCC for much much much lower! This was my experience I hope people think twice before coming here

Where to start with this school.... I just recently graduated from the Medical Assistant program. During my 9 months at the school i never felt more disrespected, used and looked down upon. Dont get me wrong their was indeed one teacher who I will forever remember as she was the only teacher that EVERYONE not even joking about that everyone loved her including myself. Mrs. Kimberly Preston. I wished that she was able to teach every class i was in but, unfortunately she only taught the beginning course to get adjusted to getting back into school. With that being said, i believe she deserves a huge pay raise the only teacher in that school that actually cares for her students and can TEACH! So after that class was over and done with i moved on to another class horrible teacher and thank goodness she got fired. i dont remember her first name but it was ms.Cooper. Horrible beyond horrible teacher. But, no need to worry she is not their anymore so i will skip that part. MS KAREEN DARJEAN.... I honestly their are no words for her she is just plain HORRIBLE!!!! and so DISRESPECTFUL it is insane. Now im not the only one who feels this way either. Im sure if someone goes around with a panel and the question is How does kareen Darjean treat you more than likely the results will be 99 percent meaning horrible. theirs always those couple of students that dont know her. Anyway,, where to begin so much to say. First time I met her she seemed nice for the first 5 minutes then, when i began to ask her questions she looked at me like im stupid. She would talk over me or simply say things like No your not going to pass no you cant do this. You need more schooling. Last time i checked she has no idea as far as how much school i completed now. keep an open mind here., i let it slide., maybe she was having a bad day who knows, next time i encountered her. I felt this negative horrible energy i swear i dislike using the word hate but, I HATE being around her. then again i think all students do. I talked to her about my attendance yes yes i was late. No excuses,, but you do not tell a student that they are never going to pass because, they are not smart enough. first of all that has nothing to do with attendance. My grades were always above B average. and second of all she tells me that i am not able to get where i want to be in life. meaning a surgeon i will be one on day mark my words. She is so horrible., she tries to lower your self of esteem to make her seem superior. CALM DOWN LADY YOUR JUST A COUNSELOR NOTHING MAJOR. Your supposed to help students not drag them down and make them seem like they are dirt. Well., i never let her get to me her time will come and no i dont wish her to get fired i think she just needs to work somewhere else where she is not interacting with students. Maybe a debt collector. I dont know but, i know this i will never ever come back to this school again. They need to clean house and promote ms. Kimberly Preston to train others who come in the school to teach. She seems like the only person who knows what shes doing.

Im not even sure where to begin. I first learned of Pima through the internet, I attended to gain more knowledge to be able to pass the pharmacy technician PTCB test, become certified for IV and Compounding (already was employed by a pharmacy, worked as a pharmacy tech trainee +2 years). At first the school projected itself to be such a great school, with a high success rate of passing the state tests & graduating, especially in the pharmacy area, the counselor i had, Mr. Donovan, insisted that I would get a great education and get recognized for all the things i would soon accomplish. IT WAS SO DISAPPOINTING to find out how their system really works. They go by sequence, so every new sequence you get new students, which means each new sequence which occurred every 4-6 weeks, you start from the beginning again, so the new students could learn the curriculum too. you never finish one sequence to progress and learn more things to build onto your knowledge. you just keep starting over. To make matters worse, the houston location, for some reason cannot keep a steady teacher. Within the 5-6 short months i attended (course is only 8 months long) I had 5 different teachers. Each teacher we had would either quit or get fired, and each new teacher we got, started from the very beginning again. I kept reporting to the student service counselor or coordinator Ms. Karen Darejean, and instead of being of help or of concern, she would give excuses and a nasty attitude. She was never helpful in any way, and never had good attitude towards the students. To make matters worse, the books we paid for which accounted for $750.00 of the tuition were INCORRECT. All 5 teachers we had, including pharmacists I personally knew, all stated that the books we paid for were incorrect. The quizzes, tests, and finals were all based off of this book, which Pima created and provided. The packet work and book work given were from this book also, they didnt have correct answers provided with the multiple choice questions and the book would give contradicting statements. The teachers would often refer us to google to help us grasp a concept, find an answer or to find clarification. LOL. To put the cherry on top, when my 5th teacher finally quit (the day before the final) the schools head administer Mr. Hiene came into the class that morning and said, does anyone know why Mr. __ quit he further went on to say that we still have to take the final and he would find someone to grade it, and if we failed he would consider letting everyone take it again. He then said verbatim that when we figure all this out, I will throw this class pizza party. This class was full of paying adults, who wanted answers and the education we paid for not a pizza party. I finally gave up trying to be optimistic and got pretty tired of the poor grading system, unstable class/teacher environment and the pure mere fact that i hadnt learned ANYTHING since i had been there. I approached the administration and began telling Mr. Hiene about how disheartening and disappointing this school had become to me and that I felt that if it wasnt going to be fixed that I wanted my money back. Instead of taking what I had to say as a paying student into consideration or concern, he disrespectfully spoke loudly over me, my concerns, and my rights as a paying student/ customer. He told me that I was being disrespectful and that he wasnt going to approve my full refund.I withdrew from Pima and I honestly couldnt be happier. That whole school is a HUGE misrepresentation of what their trying to sell. I left that school without any gained knowledge, and with wasted time.If youre considering applying, RECONSIDER.
