Worst school I have ever attended! I do not recommend. It’s very unorganized and new staff in the front office every week. They don’t keep proper documentation or staff. Many classes you are given a book and have to teach yourself. Dr. Raymond is very rude and I witness him and his staff arguing, because he said he only want English speaking students at his school. I’ve been trying to get my documentation to take my state exam and ever time I go up to the school or speak to someone they tell me something different or hang up in my face. Don’t waste your time or money.

Wow,If you are looking to attend this school please do not. Go to a school that is accredited this school is not. I attended back in 2011. The negatives reviews listed Are accurate not only did I Complete the course I left not feeling like I attained the proper knowledge to be successful. Once I completed the course got certified I was not able to gain employment anywhere. Prior to attending Dr Raymond explained gaining employment wouldn’t be an issue . Long story short I wasn’t able to find a job so I moved on to Nursing at another institution.Here it is 2020 I called Dr Raymond to get a copy of my certification because to be admitted to nursing school they give extra consideration to students who are certified or currently work in the healthcare field. So I called him to get a copy he tells me 2011 is too far back and hangs up on me. Mind you when I asked I was very polite But he immediately hangs up.This establishment is the most unprofessional school I ever attended.SAVE YOUR MONEY & GO TO AN INSTITUTION THAT IS ACCREDITED & HAS A GOOD REPUTATION.I have no idea how he sleeps at night knowing the amount of people he has conned. Money is temporary . It runs out. Dr Raymond you will account for the wrong you’ve done by people.God doesn’t like ugly.

I got my CNA licence twice in this place and also took the classes to become Medication Aid as well and I am have to thanks to the teachers because they were very helpful and were make sure we were prepare to the state exam also the director and owner he always take care of you and make sure you have all the paper work yo need, all this professional people goes beyond their capacity to help you in any ways you need.also you dont need a fancy place or room to be able to learn so all those that complain please just ignored,I been a happy Certify Nurse Aid and Medication Aid and well paidthank you to Avalon and the way to manage to be able to teach dont matter how the classroom look like the more important is that you have the right teachers and a place to learn . so far I been passing my license exam by the State with no fail or come back always passing at the first try,thanks a lot.

Overall easy material just a bunch of reviewing and remembering what’s on the exam.Practicing drawing blood is also very helpful and allows you to get the hang of it.Still waiting on my certification though.My boyfriend and I both took the exam in February of this year and we still have yet to receive our certification.

AFTER READING THESE REVIEWS I DECIDED TO GO AND SEE HOW GOOD THEY ARE..PLUS MY CO-WORKER WENT THERE AND HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE.... WHEN I GO IN THEY TOLD ME THE DATE OF THE CLASS STARTS, HOURS, HOW MUCH TO START, AND I HAD TO PAY AT REGISTRATION THE $450. I PAID THE NEXT DAY. AFTER THAT THE TWO WEEKS HAD PAST AND THE STAFF CALLED A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES AND THAT WAS TO LET ME KNOW THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOOD TO GO . THE DAY OF THE CLASS AND IM SITTING IN CLASS AND SAY THAT MY DIPLOMA IS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE STATE. I M GLAD I KNOW THAT IS NOT THE TRUTH . AND AFTER I BOUGHT EVERYTHING THAT WAS NEEDED FOR THE CLASS,(BOOKS, SCRUBS, AND MAKING ARRANGEMENTS WITH TE NURSING HOME THAT I WORK AT AND TIME).DR. RAYMOND AND THE STAFF NEED TO GET THEIR STUFF TOGETHER AND BE MORE PROFESSIONAL!!!

I heard about this school from a friend of my fathers and im sad to see such negativity from the previous reviews! I took the Phlebotomy course and LOVED it! The tests are pretty straight forward. Study and you will pass. Now I was very nervous when it came time to ACTUALLY draw blood but our instructor was reassuring!Honestly, my best advice to drawing for the first time is to closely watch someone else do it first and go for it! Do not hesitate! I think hesitation is what makes the experience daunting. Remember to not hesitate, take direction (from the instructor) and youll do great! Once I adopted that mind-frame, my drawing (of blood) came easier.As for management, I mean, as long as you pay for your payment plan on time, there are no issues. Me, I just show up to class, talk to the instructor if I have any questions and go home. I wasnt really here to make friends, however I did make one organically.As for the job placement; I asked Dr. Raymond upfront the first day I met him about it and he let me know its an assistance. In other words, a job is not guaranteed BUT they WILL assist you! You cant expect a job to be waiting for you simply because you attend the school. You cannot put all your eggs in one basket like that.Just had to clear up that misconception.Lastly, as for Dr. Raymond, he was always very pleasant and funny, too! His accent isnt hard to understand but if youre not used to accents, just listen closely.He always seems to be on the go but for a man his age, I cant say thats a bad thing! I never had a bad run in with him.Pay on time and you will have no problem!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!!! This place is a scam! The owner also known as Dr Raymond is straight ludicrous all he cares about is getting you enrolled into class so he can take your money and then he will leave you alone in a hot box that he calls a class room to read and watch videos! So you basically have to learn by yourself! Not to mention his wife who also works there refers to herself as Mrs Linda!!! She is very rude and just wobbles around as if she hates her job! She puts so much negativity in the air! Especially when her and Dr Raymond get very un professional and start arguing in front of everyone.. Their teaching staff has a high turn over rate because they dont give hours and they dont pay correctly and they deduct when they are not supposed To! They also have their time clock rigged. Their receptionist also have a high turn over rate as well Dr Raymond hires them making them think they have a good steady job then he will work them like crazy for about 3 days then claim their is no work and when you ask for your pay he will tell you to quit calling his phone and block your number then tell security that your crazy and if you show up to the office to call the police just so you will not get paid!! So once again BEWARE.....I have recently called BBB and filed a case with the labor law because what they are doing is wrong!

Please be advised that this place is a scam. Dr. Raymond was only concerned about getting paid. I attended this facility about 2 years ago to get my phlebotomy certification. I seen that the price was super affordable so I went for it. BIG MISTAKE!! You will have to teach yourself all the material. He will pass you without even looking at the work you did. No real textbooks are given to you and you still have to pay. barely practiced anything that was related to phlebotomy, classes lasted less than an hour. Sometimes there was no class at all. I have been a phlebotomist for 5 years now, there is a lot of things that have to be learned and you will NOT learn it here. Go to a place that truly cares about teaching, he only cares about money. GOOD LUCK.

Avalon Medical Career Academy is a great place. I did my Medication Aide program here and came out in flying colors. I highly recommend the school to anyone who is ready to study hard.

I asked for a refund & he refused to give it to me, I paid one week & was supposed to start the following week! I called & he didn’t answer, so I went up there & the rest is history🤦🏽‍♀️! Terrible school. Very unorganized. You are basically teaching yourslef. All that man wants is your money. He could care less if you learn anything. The books he gives You are copies he made from the original book. So your paying for that along with the teacher never showing up. When they do come it was always a different lady . people would quite left and right. Do not waists your time or money with this man . you will regret it.

Unprofessional, unorganized,money hungry situation.. I neglected to read the reviews before I started ... But I felt like something wasnt right week one... Got a refund and moved on... But I thought I overreacted... So I decided after the fact to read the reviews.... scam scam scam I feel like.

Wow I can see this school hasnt changed. I thought it would be shut down by now. My mom and I attended back in 2007, the phlebotomy program, lets just say, my externship was in the schools reception area answering phones and filing, not drawing blood smh. The man loves money and he dont care if you learn or not, theres never anyone there to teach you as these people stated. You will do better doing an online program like Penn Foster honestly, no joke. I completed my program but felt I havent learned anything, no job help, so never got employed so I gave up. This was 10 yrs ago but people are still saying the same thing. Its really sad.

2 stars...Only becasue the cma instructor did try. Only thing is that he cared so much that he Would start the lesson over for the ones who missed class or came late which was unfair for us who came on time daily. By the end of 12 weeks we were so far behind that he just gave us tests and answers for study guides.Dr. Raymond collected all our money and applications for the state test and then did not turn them in on time and we were rejected. Had to turn the same papaers in a second time and now we are playing the waiting game. Started 12 week class in March 2018 it is now July 2018 and no state test not even a date for the state test . I do not recommend this school to anyone! Dr. Raymond hounds u for payments but forgets to call when class is canceled. The whole class was told to make sure we come and when we arrived was told no class that the instructor was informed that day. When were u going to tell the students? Oh and make sure u keep ur reciepts. So many times they told me i owe a larger amount than what i actually owed. Had to take my reciept to Dr. Raymond showing my balance. When i went in to pay in full he calculated so wrong. Tried to havw me pay an extra $100. I actually had to do the math with him so that it was clear. The learning material is good i actually did learn somethings. The school is just not professional.

Dont bother going here. After I paid $800 for a course and completed it, the owner Raymond wouldnt even give me my certificate. I kept getting the run around.

A few months ago I came to do a nursing assistant course and everything was very bad! They called me from time to time demanding the money I had already paid and I had to stop what I was doing to take the rest of the payment !!! In the end they never gave me the appointment to graduate and finally I faced the workers and asked for my money back for the lack of attention and respect! This is a fraud !!!
