All three of my children attended Yorkshire Academy. The early childhood teachers were amazing and truly cared for each child. Not only were the staff nurturing, but they went above and beyond to ensure that my children were learning and developing new skills, even in their very early years. Play and music were incorporated throughout their day and outside play time was also given throughout the day. The elementary program at Yorkshire provided a challenging and supportive learning environment that set my children up for success when they moved on to other schools. In addition to strong academics, the enrichment program at Yorkshire is exceptional. My children received fine arts instruction (music and art), technology, Spanish, and library every single week. They also had PE every day. Yorkshire is an amazing school that truly made my children feel at home. Yorkshire Academy gave each of them confidence and knowledge that has led to great success in their education and lives.

I dont regret many things in my life, but I do regret sending my 4 year old child here for the PreK program. Between poor classroom management, inappropriate expectations of the students and systematic bullying from administration and students alike, I cant recommend this school. Its been a year now and I still get the occasional question from my child, Remember when I was a bad kid and everyone hated me? It breaks my heart every time.

Yorkshire Academy has been the most amazing place for our daughter in helping her to build the foundations of a well rounded little person with a balanced focus on social, emotional and academic skills. Our daughter has been at Yorkshire Academy from Pre-School through to 1st Grade and for a very brief period on 2nd Grade, which we have had to cut short due to a relocation overseas. We are so sad to leave the Yorkshire Academy family and its amazing teaching and administrative staff. We love the small class sizes which allow teaching staff to create and nurture truly special relationships with the students and makes each and every student feel like they really belong. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this first class school to any prospective family. We will miss Yorkshire Academy terribly. Thank you!!

We moved from Italy and my two kids entered YA when the year was already started. They entered in Y2 and Y4. I could have not imagined a better welcome for them. They felt part of this wonderful community from the first day. Each one at the school knew of their arrival and this made my kids feel so special and helped them adjust to the change. I could not be happier with the decision we made of having my kids attend YA. The sense on community that you feel there is something special and unique. And this is added to an impressive curriculum that challenges the kids not only in learning different topics but in becoming great students in their future. This could not be possible without the best group of teachers and an incredible staff. You really can see that they are truly committed in what they are doing and this makes their role fundamental and really exceptional. I would highly recommend this school!

When we arrived in Houston almost five years ago one of our major concerns was schooling for our daughter. We were so blessed to find Yorkshire Academy. With a small campus, great teacher to student ratio and an overall warmth we realized this was the best place for our child. The teachers and staff are amazing and the academic programs are comprehensive, through and exactly what we were looking for our child. Our daughter has thrived in both academics both other activities as well. Children can explore programs through their MAP offerings, summer program and more. We are beyond pleased with this amazing little school!

Yorkshire Academy has been our childs first school experience (she started at 18 months) and we couldnt be happier. Yorkshire provides an incredibly loving and nurturing environment. The teachers are absolutely remarkable - they are so invested in maximizing the potential of every child and helping them grow to become their best selves!

This is our fourth year at Yorkshire Academy and we love, love, love it. Our two young boys go skipping happily into school each morning and have come on in leaps and bounds year on year. The teachers are wonderful, and the small class sizes mean they can give each child plenty of individual attention. It feels like one big happy family - one of the things we love is how genuinely caring and supportive all the staff are, both teaching and administrative. Excellent academics, great after-school activities, an unsurpassed music program (Mrs Morris is amazing!), caring staff, plenty of opportunities for parents to get involved, and well-rounded confident kids. Cant recommend this school highly enough.

The application process is unclear. We waste money and time for nothing. If you’re an expat there are many better options than this.

Both of my children attended YA. Its the best private non-secular elementary school in the Houston area. Low student/teacher ratio, outstanding music program, rigorous academic curriculum, awesome extracurricular/enrichment activities - all in a safe, loving and nurturing environment. Faculty and staff are A+. Best kept secret . . . Shhhh.

Our two children have attended Yorkshire Academy for the last four years. We were looking for an education that would enable our children to transition in to the British education system seamlessly at some stage in the future. The depth and variety of Yorkshire Academys curriculum means our kids are now well placed to return to the British, or any international system at any stage. The student:teacher ratio has allowed for a great deal of focused attention when required and our boys have clearly benefited from that experience. The teachers through the years have always worked closely with both the children and parents to ensure the children are sufficiently challenged and gratified in their achievements. Both children now display a degree of confidence at such a young age that only the US education system seems to be able to offer. A major benefit of such a small school is that all the children, no matter the age, seemed to know each other, making for a very welcoming and comfortable environment. With both parents working, it was nice to know that additional support was easily available both before and after core hours. Our kids will be sad to leave Yorkshire Academy now were leaving Houston, but are clearly very well placed for their experience, seeing each move as an adventure.

A very disappointing experience with Kindergarten, it’s all ok until your child requires any extra help and support in any way or if you are dealing with ADHD. We dealt with an inexperienced and unhelpful teacher who made our family feel like we are in some way responsible for what we were going through, she made our child feel like ‘the problem’ and offered little help or support. She pushed hard with an unqualified overzealous and overpriced ‘speech therapist’ as answer to all the problems. We left the school and it was the best thing we ever did for our kids.

My son attended Yorkshire Academy from Pre-K through 5th grade. During that time, I have had the opportunity to really know the curriculum, the staff, and the families who entrust their children to YA.The staff are first rate. They have prepared my son exceptionally well for junior high both academically and emotionally. He has been accepted to a top notch middle school in an extremely competitive environment and placed into the advanced track. Their PSIA prep is first class. I have English friends whose children attended YA. They were also very happy with the quality of the education their children received. My son isnt very organized and I really appreciated the way his 5th grade teacher worked with him to improve this because she knows how important it is in middle school. The music program, run by Mrs. Morris, is incredible.I cannot stress enough how caring and thoughtful the staff at YA are. My son has endured a long divorce. The staff at YA, from the principal to the teachers, have given him so much love and a safe place when he most needed one. I cannot imagine a more nurturing environment.We just got home from graduation and my son wants to say, Im really going to miss all of my teachers and my friends from YA. I will never forget them.
