Bell is a magnet school for Physical Development very easy to get a spot in the lottery due to weak academics. The problem is that if you are looking for your child to be challenge and be active this is not the school for you. They offer several after school magnet enrichment classes: Dance, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Choir, Piano, Cross Country, Basketball and Soccer. The issues is to get a spot there is a tryout and is up to the teacher to pick who she will allowed to participate. So if youre not FRIENDS with a teacher your child will never be able to get a spot. Year after year you will only see the same kids taking part of the more desired classes sports/art. (dance, Cheer, Gymnastics, piano) same thing with school presentation. Teachers can be a hit or miss, nonexistent communication between school-home. Very low parent involvement the only thing welcome is $$$ not your presence.

I hated that my kids had to go to this school. Its a racist school. Only the bad kids get acknowledged for doing what they are already suppose to do. Theres a couple good teacher but they dont last very long. I could never say anything about this school because my kids attended and I feared the staff would take it out on my kids.

I was there for 7 years for each grade pre k - 5th grade and has been the best elementary school ever great teachers in every grade, great sports for the children, and a great place to learn a lot. Great school👍🏽

Even though its been 2 years since i was at this school in 5th grade things have changed BTW Mr. Fowler was awesome before he left us making the entire class be split only to return at the last day of school srsly this school is great though some of the activities were lackluster mainly looking like routines and drills. Sometimes I would have always been surrounded by people who want to copy and steal my work.Someone even fought me in a fist fight with the teacher looking all because he touched my shoe with his punching me in the neck.This school was still awesome in my old opinion but please try to not separate a GT class while putting some in a esl class with 75% of the population only speaking spanish

This is bad a teacher named ms.kamau (Gelsta kamau) give kids conduct cuts for no reasons but the 5th grade math teacher Mr.fowler is awsome

This is a fantastic school in Southwest Houston with a caring staff and a wonderful counselor.
