I have always wanted to learn the art of candle making and this fit the bill perfectly! From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional and done with excellence. Even the restroom was clean, fragrant and had a nice note which just speaks to the positive tone set for staff and patrons alike. :-) The downtown location was extremely clean and smelled amazing upon entry. Parking is limited, but classes are small so we were able to park in front for free. I love the intimacy and diversity in our class(males and females, black, white, Lebanese etc). We were able to get one on one assistance from the owner,Amara, and plenty of guidance at any point, although we were like mad scientists most of the time focusing on creating the perfect scent with their wide array of fragrances. The instructions are clear and as a teacher I can appreciate the variety of ways they conduct the class (hands on, verbal, visual example, written instructions). Additionally, I love that they use ingredients that are natural! I am super excited to attend their soap making class soon! Hubby wants to come now. Black-owned business functioning phenomenally!

Such a fun and wonderful experience! I loved learning a new skill and perfecting two of my own custom candles. Amara and her team were outstanding. I can’t wait to pick up my completed, cooled candles.

My husband and I attended a candle making workshop, and let me just say... we absolutely LOVED it! The co-owner, Amara, was so helpful and so cool. I can definitely tell that this is truly a passion for her as we enjoyed every moment learning about the process and important things to know about candle making and the upkeep. Next time we will be sure to BYOB. We also plan to register for the soap making and bath bomb making workshops as well!

My wife and I visited here for our anniversary weekend and had a great time. Twila seems to be experienced and was helpful with teaching how to make candles. Would definitely recommend couples to come here for a date night.

I recently had a class here for a bridal shower and had an absolutely great time! They were extremely helpful and patient with us! Our candles werent able to cure before we left so we had them mailed to us. Unfortunately, one of mine arrived broken. I called to inform them and spoke with someone who was kind and understanding (wish I remembered her name to include in my note). I was immediately sent a replacement candle with the same scents I used to make the original. I am glad that I had the pleasure of experiencing this shop my first time in Houston and would recommend everyone to stop by. Thanks for everything! I am more than happy with my candles!

So very grateful for the simplicity of instructions to make my first hand poured candles in my home. The kit came complete with everything I needed as well as a link to a 7 minute video that put me on a confident path to professional looking and smelling candles in less than an hour. Thank you Amara for taking time after hours to give me additional helpful hints as I continue to experiment with different fragrances, waxes and wicks.💛

I loved this place! I am interested in candle making, and my husband tagged along as a date night. Such a unique date night, and so cool to make something that maybe no one else has ever made before. Very clean, modern, easy for beginners, huge variety of scents, and we loved the vibe. The owner is so down to earth, and makes you feel welcomed and like an expert. I’d come back!

My friend and I went to a class and it was absolutely the most fun experience ever! The owners are beyond amazing women and are so knowledgable and helpful. This is a great date idea or girls night out. You make your own candles and can create your own unique scent from 30+ different fragrances (please be prepared to spend way too much time recreating a childhood memory through a smell). I just hope I can make the same combination of fragrances again. Also, there is meter parking directly by the shop so make sure to pay your meter and keep track of time.

What a great place! We brought our nieces and nephew on a Sunday and we had a blast! Made candles and bath bombs and loved every minute! Will be back!!

A wonderful establishment! My husband and I went in for a candlemaking experience, Halloween night! I can’t say enough about the amazing staff and accommodating environment. Amazing experience!!The classes were very easy to book online, and Love & Make had a plethora of class dates and times available. The owner is very nice and helps you throughout the entire candle-making process. The place is organized, neat, and inviting. The best thing is, they give you creative freedom to smell and concoct your dream scents. You dont feel pressured at all. You can bring a friend/group of friends/go solo. I went by myself and sat with a group of people and felt very comfortable. The candles take about 1 hour to finish curing (solidifying), and wont be ready to use for about 3 days. Overall, I cant wait to return for another class. She ( the owner) also offers Bath Bomb & Soap Making courses. It was an wonderful experience!

If I could to give this workshop 10 stars, I would! Went with a friend for candlemaking. Amara was an excellent teacher and chandler!! We got the entire studio to ourselves, and spent plenty of time choosing our personalized fragrances. Will definitely be attending more workshops here!

I had the hardest time trying to decide what to do for my daughters 13th Birthday. My criteria was something that was fun, unique, and of course budget friendly. My sister in law suggested Love&Make. After running it by my daughter, it was the perfect idea. She lit up as we talked about it. I also thought about the educational (science) side of it, a major plus, but of course did not mention it to my daughter. Everything about Love&Make(L&M) was superb from start to finish. They chose their favorite colors and fragrances and made candles and bath bombs. The smells lit up the room, but was not overbearing. Staff was professional and attentive and worked well with the 13yearolds. They also provided a place to set up a couple of decorations, food&drinks. I could go on and on about how great L&M are. I would suggest coming to the workshops or having a private event if you want to have a good time with good people this would be my first choice.

I love this place. Step by step instructions with room for creativity. Such an awesome atmosphere. Amara was a great teacher and I truly learned a lot. Would recommend to everyone.

This was such a fun and unique experience to have! It’s a fun and different and place where not only a skill is learned, but also memories are made. We went for a friends birthday and it was so much fun! We made candles with our instructor Bukola. She was so kind and patient and knowledgeable in her craft. This time we made candles, but they have so many more classes to choose from and they’re always adding new classes and new experiences.Go try them out! Take a friend, your mom, or make it a date night !
