My daughter came in for a Balayage and they screwed it up so bad she left bawling and she has senior pictures in two weeks and of course they won’t refund my money and it will probably cost me triple to have it fixed at another salon! I tried twice to talk to an owner but they wouldn’t let me! Such bad service we will never be going back there again! Here is a picture of what they called a Balayage

Had a groupon for a facial. Kelsey did an amazing job. My skin was glowing when I left. She was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out some products she used on my skin. Relaxing facial.

Worst experience EVER ! Asked for a simple highlight retouch, came out looking like it was done in my garage by my blind Grandma. Went back to have it fixed came home a brunette. Not only could my stylist not color, my daughters cut was choppy and uneven and !!!! When she styled my hair it was so greasy and weighted down. Typically I would never write something like this but like I said this was the second time shot. Do not get your hair done here. They don’t know what their doing, like the instructors don’t know what their doing and the students will old shame you. This place is gross.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this salon and Morgan! I came to Salon Professional Academy to have a perm. The stylist rolled the perm correctly, keeping the hair wet, the rollers straight and tight! She did an awesome job. And guess what, only after did i find out i was her first live person perm! BIG SMILES. Not because i was her 1st but because IT IS VERY EVIDENT that this school is teaching the girls in a way they will be successful. The instructor gave the stylist space to do the rolling but she also checked in and gave input. VERY GREAT experience.I

They dont offer pm classes..im not sure how they expect the average working adult to go to class at 9am. Very disappointing.

I really wanted to like this place. The facility is really clean, sleek and modern. I walked in feeling good because it looked just like a professional salon. Everyone was very friendly. The girl who cut my hair was very sweet, but wore her nerves all over her face. She didnt appear confident in her abilities, and a conversation with her instructor about not knowing how to point cut highlighted that.I came in looking for a very simple long layered bob with long side swept bangs. I had about 4 inches cut off and was fine with that because it waa still long enough to be able to wear a pony tail. What I appreciate about this place is that the instructor checks out the haircut to sign off on it, and it also seems that the students are encouraged to ask for help on techniques they may not have confidence in executing. Even with those checks in place, this ended up being the worst haircut Ive ever had. I took a gamble by going to a student and I lost big time.When the student finished the cut she blow dried it and didnt shape it at all to show me the cute bob I was supposed to have. She just ran her finger through my hair while she blow dried it and it looked messy and the ends were flipped out. She also didnt cut the long bangs I had asked for. So she was about to grab her instructor to let her sign off on the cut, but I spoke up and asked about the bangs. She said she didnt know how to do them so shed need her instructor to help. When she came over I showed the instructor the reference picture and said several times that Id like to keep them long. Well I ended up with very very short pieces that Im having trouble taming.After this I just wanted to get out of this place and go home to wet my hair down to see if I could style it into the sleek bob Id been hoping for. Nope. One side of my hair is at least an inch to inch and a half longer than the other in the front. The ends of my hair are also jagged and some underneath pieces are longer than the others, but not in an intentional way. Just in a sloppy haircut way.Im definitely not going back to get it fixed there, and Im afraid to go elsewhere because I think Id lose too much length if I have to cut it to even it out and fix the jagged ends.If you come here for a cut, definitely know it is a gamble. While the staff is friendly, just know you could end up with a student who might not be at the skill level youre hoping for.

My daughter and I have found our new favorite place! First time there was an absolute FABULOUS experience! We got facials and pedis from Lexi and Jasmine. They were both FANTASTIC!!! So sweet, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable. I will be returning there quite often! Best service Ive EVER had at a salon!!! Clean atmosphere AND friendly staff as well! Love it!!!

I had my first experience today at this salon and I was very impressed. Instructors are great and seemed to be hands on and caring/interested in what the student and client have in the works or what they are trying to accomplish. I got highlights and really like them. Their online process to schedule your own appointment is pretty slick too. The only thing is, is if you would like to schedule more than one service, you have to schedule them individually or call. Which is not a problem for me...just an FYI for other people. It also lets you pick your “stylist.” Which I really liked but there are no pictures to go with names. I loved my person and I’m already planning my next appointment for a “pamper day” with my “person.” Also, when you schedule online, it gives you a “base” amount and minutes for this service. The minutes are pretty accurate. I was there for about three hours so plan accordingly and don’t be in a hurry. I was totally fine with my time because I planned on the whole 180 minutes but it was worth every second of my time today. I had great conversation and enjoyed my time just getting my hair done and possibly met my next stylist (whether it be temporary or long term). I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot! My experience was amazing!

Im a part-time resident of Western Michigan and called one day, desperate for a haircut, and was given an appointment that same day. Wonderful!I was put with Alyssa, who has a marvelous personality, is easy to talk to, smiles and laughs naturally, and is genuinely interested in giving the very best service. Again, Wonderful!She gave me one of, if not, the best haircut Ive ever had that day. I received lots of compliments on it (and naturally told my friends where I received the service!). Four weeks later, again, desperate for a haircut, I called again, got in right away, with the marvelous Alyssa, who again gave me the best haircut ever! I had a really great experience at the Academy. Michaela, a student, was very skilled, professional, and super kind. The instructors are also highly skilled and seem to have a great rapport with their students. It is a teaching program with a lot of instructor oversight, so if youre not willing to spend at least an hour in the chair (despite the crazy affordable services), the Academy is maybe not the place for you. As for me, I dont mind being pampered for a while; its a rare treat in my world. I will most definitely be returning here in the future!

This is a fantastic place for haircuts! I had my 4th haircut by the fabulous Hannah Z. yesterday, and without a doubt the BEST haircuts ever! The staff is fun, young and dedicated to doing their very best. The instructors are encouraging and talented teachers too. Hannah is graduating and will be a wonderful addition to any salon!

Last week Friday I took my daughter to get her hair washed and styled, while getting her hair wash the stylist felt something in her hair. She very calmly asked me to come and look at her hair, to my surprise she had a tick. Long story short, one of the instructors ( mind you) acted very unprofessional and made it seem like my daughter had disease and was telling all the other stylist about it. I don’t plan on going back unless I really need to.

My experience was great! I had a pedicure done and it was wonderful, my toes looked great and my feet were so soft. This school was super professional and the student Nicole was awesome ill go back to see her again. it was a super clean and professional set up and space, and the teachers were great they were always at hand and checking the students work very hands on which i loved it showed me they care about their students and giving them the best education to have a great Career. Very Impressed and I will be going back to use more of the services and the prices are fantastic.

I attended TSPA for school to be a cosmetologist for 11 months & I LOVED it! This school is truly amazing. The instructors are always there for you when you need help in anyway whether its personal or school related. I builded relationships with the other classmates and now I have some of my greatest friends all because of school! 😊 I would recommend this school to anybody, they give you all the knowledge you need to be successful in this career, & also help getting you a job after graduation if needed! 💗

Had a great experience here with my daughter the first time I brought her here. Then I went somewhere else because we didnt think they did walk-ins and what a mistake, the girl argued with us and wouldnt do what she wanted at all and was so rude and kept telling me what she thought would look right instead of what my daughter wanted the cut to be. So we ended up back here so they could fix it and she got exactly what she wanted. Lesson learned, were coming here from now on. They actually listen.

Hello, I just wanted to leave a comment about my recent experience. I had the groupon for a mani/pedi. It was honestly not a good experience. The educator was not around during the whole time. She stopped in at the beginning of the pedicure and not until the very end of the manicure. I had tried to have my student fix some things/shape my nails better. I could have painted my nails better than she did. And when the educator did come by she just said how good they looked and she had done perfect. I also noticed other students doing more during the pedicure (clipping along side the nail and filing off callous on the foot) which was never offered to me. Overall I felt very uncomfortable and was not happy with my service. I would have been so upset if I paid full price for a shotty manicure

Good for haircuts and such but not nails! Had a manicure and the polish came of before I left the parking lot! Would have went back but was on a tight schedule to get to s funeral out of state!

Sorry to say I have to change my review. I got a terrible haircut here last week and Im really upset. She was going to take off an inch and ended up taking off at least 4 inches. The first instructor, Heather, gave her instructions and was really nice about everything like she always is, but then the other instructor took over and didnt listen to the plan or give much feedback. She kept coming back and asking the woman cutting my hair why she was cutting at certain spots because it obviously wasnt right. Eventually I think she gave up because my haircut is soooo crooked. One side is like an inch longer than the other. It looks like I did it myself. Im really disappointed that after so many good experiences, I had a terrible one. Its going to take like a year to grow it all back and Im really sad about this.

The staff here are very friendly and professional! The studio is very clean, and the students work very hard to get you what you want. I have heard rumors of a potential ghost in the pedicure room, but there has been no malicious activity. Overall, highly recommended!

Im a Marine and I like my hair short and in a high and tight as much as possible. I went to the Academy on their first day open and have gone back every week since. Great staff and students. My haircut is perfect every time.

Omg I loved this place I went here on a Wednesday and there wasnt hardly anythere I also made a appointment for a wash cut and style and the beautiful lady that did my hair (Emma H) was so nice and gentle I got around 7 inches off my hair and it looks fantastic I still cant stop looking at myself in the mirror she also curled it which just looks fabuolus !! The place is clean and all the ladys there smiled at me and were just very helpful but heres the best part it was only 15$ for a wash cut and style yes 15$ I recommended this place all the way if I could rate it 10/5 I would !!! My haircut was incredible! The girl was so nice to me. I walked in feeling down i came out strutting and sassy! I was nervous since i had never gone there before but OMG. The shampooing was so relaxing. She gave me a full on scalp massage. I could have drifted off if i wasnt afraid of snorring. Lol.

Honestly I’m not very happy with my experience there. It didn’t seem professional at all. Did not like how the instructor talked to me & didn’t get the results I wanted. I wanted a balayage and ended up with uneven highlights throughout my head.

I graduated from TSPA Holland in May of 2017. Their esthetics program is incredible! As students we were able to experience working in every position available in a salon/spa environment. This prepared us for the jobs we would potentially be working upon graduation from school. We worked with clients as estheticians, took on reception duties at the front desk, learned how to market ourselves as business women, and learned the importance of being team players. All of the lessons that you are taught here will prepare you to be an incredible employee, and coworker. The moment I stepped out of the TSPA doors on graduation day I felt confident and ready to take on the world. To this day the staff supports me with anything that I may need, and I am truly grateful for that. If it were not for TSPA I would not have been able to pursue my dream of becoming an esthetician, and owner of my own beauty studio. To the owners Scott & Rachel, Nikol the admissions coordinator, and all of the amazing instructors at TSPA, thank you for all that you do every single day. Your hard work does not go unnoticed.
