I did a group lesson with a few of my friends and it was great! Matt and Eric were friendly, fun, and helpful. It was my first time trying surfing and they teach you the basics of getting started. I would recommend them if youre looking for lessons. :)

Had a great time out on the water with Pillar Point Surf School! Despite choppy waters, Eric and Matt were able to help us catch a good amount of waves. Communication for meeting up and during the introduction was clear. Eric also made sure to take plenty of photos to send to us!

My kids were brand new to surfing, and Pillar Point Surf School provided a fun and safe learning environment. The gear they provided was high quality, and the instruction was adapted based on their progress throughout the week. Highly recommend!

Did a lesson on Saturday morning with a group of friends and other individuals we met there.Our instructors were very clear with instructions and supportive with helping us catch waves. Also glad we were given green jerseys so that they could easily spot us and make sure we were safe!Process:1. met instructors in parking lot2. changed into wetsuits3. got our surfboards4. walked with group to the nearby beach5. learned basics6. went in the water and tried your best7. got out and got pictures taken on instructors phone8. walked back and returned surfboards9. changed and returned wetsuits10. gave our phone number to instructor to receive group picturesProvided:- wetsuit- surfboard- changing mat (for the parking lot floor)- instructors backpack to store everyones phone/keysThings you should bring:- slippers- swim suit (to wear under wetsuit)- towels (to dry yourself off)- change of clothes- some fortress to change in (maybe just your car in the parking lot)

Pillar Point Surf School is the best! Penny returned home every day exhausted, sandy, and smiling from ear to ear. The instructors are great, and even on days that the waves didnt cooperate, they still had a blast!

Pillar Point Surf School is an exceptional program. My daughter went for surf camp in July 2021 and had so much fun, she wanted to have a surf themed bday party with her closest friends. The birthday lesson was AMAZING! Erik and Mckinley paid close attention to our group of 8, 10 year olds, and each one of them were able to stand on the board a bit before the 90 min lesson was over. We really appreciated their attention to detail, and all the safety precautions they made sure to explain to the group. Would we do it all again? ABSOLUTELY! Thanks to all the camp and birthday lesson team for a great fun end to our summer. They are the best!!!

Awesome and safe. My 6 year old even got up and rode some small waves before the weeks end. Now shes caught the bug.

Had a semi-private session with my buddy and was under the instruction of Nick. Learned a lot all the while had a lot of fun chatting and hanging out in the water. Overall positive experience and helpful in learning the ropes of surfing. Will definitely come again

FUN camp, keeps kids moving and busy in the water and out. Great interactive counselors, excellent end of camp beach bbq AND my son learned to surf.

I’ve had two lessons here and am amazed by how awesome they are. They really do a great job of making it fun while teaching. My instructor Nick was super patient with me when I told him I tended to overanalyze things. He took me out and spent the time explain the wave patterns and what I needed to look for.The time flew by and I felt like I had a masterclass in surfing out on the water.I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn how to surf or improve. Two shakas way up from this Grom.

My 15 year old son did a week of surf camp with his 17 year old cousin. They had a great time and really developed the beginner skills to start surfing on their own. Great value. I’d do it again and recommend it to others.

What a great find! My son, Lucas, loves the water but never really learned to surf. In spite of his dad being a lifelong surfer. He now is a good beginner surfer after a few weeks of going to this camp. Matt is great and all the instructors are friendly, supportive and helpful. My son loves this camp and cant wait to go every morning.

Had a great semi private lesson with Matt. As complete beginners he did a great job of teaching and guiding us how to surf. Great way to spend a couple hours in the SF area!

We had an awesome time with Pillar Point surf school. Our instructor Ryan was super chill, and had us standing up on our boards in no time. We booked last minute, but the owner Matt was able to help find us a spot on short notice and was a huge help. Wish we didn’t live in Michigan so we could surf more often! All in all it was a great experience and we would recommend it to anyone interested in surfing.

Had such a great time!Booked a private lesson for my spouses birthday and we were not let down! Dominic did a fantastic job, we met Matt the owner, super nice. They had tons of different boards for us to try out. We started a bit late due to parking issues and finding the beach but they went overtime to give us the full 2 hours. FYI the equation for a good time surfing = good weather + better than moderate fitness + positive attitude. We had all these and had a blast.

Awesome organization, kid supervision and engaging fun. We’re coming back.
