Extremely disappointed in CASC. This year especially. We’ve been with the program for a couple of years and have had a numerous amount of problems. Some of the teachers act like they want to help resolve what ever the problems there are but soon throw you off on the other teachers, attendance, advocates, admins or principal. Most of which don’t get back to you. Especially the principal. This year I had two students in CASC. A 3rd grader and kindergartener. They both did classes at the same time and both completed their work together so that I could keep up with everything and make sure everything was being done to meet their minimum standards. I was recently told that my 3rd grader had missed days and was being taken out of the school completely. I tried everything to keep him in the school but it seemed like everyone had made up their minds about this issue. Some tried to help me but I was soon directed to talk to head administration who was done with us and wouldn’t hear any more. The school has had a big amount of technical difficulties ranging from not being able to access the OLS or even being unable to attend the live class session. Regardless of this and all the screen shots I’ve taken and all the emails I’ve gathered they refused to work with us any further. They continued to press us and constantly threatened truancy on me. Everything happened on a Friday so I was left to stress the whole weekend. That Monday I immediately Went to the school closest to us to sign him up. All other online schools were either not accepting applications any more because of the increased interest due to COVID-19 or they cost the same amount as a private school and we simply couldn’t afford that. And we desperately didn’t want to send him back to the school we took him out of because of bullying, but CASC left us absolutely no choice. Even after we registered him in a new school they were still threatening me with truancy. Telling me they would have to take action soon if I didn’t do something soon. I sent emails to everyone informing them of the change and even filled out the school withdrawal form to notify them of the change but to no avail. CASC teachers only teacher for about 10-15 minutes, using the other time to talk about their personal lives or having to tell students to stop playing in the chat box or the live class tools. If a student has a question and they put it in the chat box, it gets over looked because of all the chatter going on. And if they talk to the teacher, they are rushed or not listened to.With the combination of technical difficulties, teachers, staff and threatening truancy constantly the CASC has failed deeply when it comes to communication, understanding and willingness to work with the families.

The curriculum at thisSchool is Stellar!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I like the fact it challenges my childAbove and beyond my expectations! The schedule may seem like a bit much at firstHowever once you get yourself on a concrete daily routine youll be fine. The curriculum challenges your child to push themselves toward Academic excellence.Your child will definently be way beyond the kids in public school as far as curriculum is concerned!Supplies,Books, materials provided by the schoolAre excellent ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Instructions provided to learning coaches are greatAbove and beyond my expectations! With that being said I really love this school for our child. She has grown so much Academically Through this school! So I really want to keep her in this program throughout her school yearsHowever.....This past week Ive noticed that her ELA class connects are no longer on her weekly scheduleIve reached out to the teacher with no responseIve reached out to my assigned AdministratorWithout clarification on why.Reached out to k12 support They informed me that the Teacher did not post her live connect session on my childs lesson plans.Never had this problem before my child never misses school or class connects!School is very important to us and we take it very seriously!Staff and learning coaches must be aligned with one another for the success of the students and the school.I understand with the recent pandemic the enrollment in homeschool programs are overwhelmingFor these types of institutionsAnd I completely understandHowever if work load is to much just say thatJust to not post my childs class connectsIs completely unprofessional. And as a parent/ learning coach Im very disappointed. We are in the 2nd quarter of schoolI really hope this issue is resolved so that I can continue to provide my child with the great Academic Achievement that that this school has to offer. But at the end of it all the Good out weighs the BadSo hopefully we will get this issue resolvedAs soon as possible!

We, Maxs parents, are so proud of how hard he has worked this year! He applied to 4 universities/colleges, with the top 2 being Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Ringling. We attended the admission day at SCAD just to check out the campus, the busiest day where potential Freshmen are given pointers on applying, filling out their Statement of Purpose as well as guidance on completing their Portfolio. Max, however, had already submitted his complete application the first week or two the application process opened. As I checked our email, which was hidden in the spam folder, I was shocked to see Maxs official Acceptance Letter! We went straight to his advisors office and, she actually made her way through the hundreds of students and parents, hand delivered him his acceptance letter! We were and still are so very proud of our son! Since then, he has received $46,500, in scholarships, from SCAD alone. While he’s completed many more scholarships, he continues to study for his EOC exams, do well on them while applying to more scholarships. He joined the National Honor Society and recently the National Society of High School Scholars. He will be majoring in Animation! Max, Mama and Daddy are so proud of you!!!

This is perfect for working kids. My child was a straight A student in regular school. He got a acting gig in Atlanta and they only film on weekdays. He was going to become truant because of his working schedule. SC has no laws to protect working kids from becoming truant. They do in other states but I guess because we dont have a big film industry here, there are no laws in place except for the ones that say he cant have over 10 non-excused absences. Working does not count as an excused absence. In Atlanta if they are on set 3 days in a row, they have a teacher in place and they have to do school work (really sucks for him because he has to do the work because of the law but he doesnt get any credit for it) Because his grades are good, he doesnt have to attend the class connect sessions. This is great because he can make up work on the weekends when he films on during the week and he doesnt have to be considered absent. It has been a great option for him.

Love the materials you need are sent and the daily schedule set up. My daughters well being has improved. Teachers get back with you in record time. If you need more help and resources they are - a class, email or phone call away!! This is our 2 year. Love the flexibility. An extra; If you like to socialize and meet classmates there is PTSO and Clubs.. Thanks for the opportunity to spend time and be part of my daughters education. I am learning also.

Cyber Academy is an excellent choice for anyone who wants their child to succeed. The academics is excellent and challenging for my grandson. I love that the administrators stay in touch with you to see if you need help or just to make sure that your child is getting what him or her need. We have been enrolled for three years, and I hope that my grandson wants to stay here until he graduated from high school.

My daughter attended Cyber Academy of South Carolina Middle School last year my other daughter is attending CASC High School this year. We have had nothing but problems both years. It is impossible to get in touch with the principle, he is off limits despite my many requests. I call him the Wizard of OZ. The teachers try to resolve the issues but the issues are never resolved. Please expect your childs classes WILL overlap and then you are the one that will be receiving truancy notices because of it. Technical issues all the time. Testing coordinator will give you every detail about testing but the actually time the testing is and room number and does not respond to emails requesting this information. Teachers will blame your student for the schools problems. You can not get in touch with a live person. Trust me it is a waste of time and effort

CASC is by far the best public school in South Carolina, perhaps it is the best in the entire USA.For those who can learn on her/his own this is the school for you.If you need someone to sit by your side all the time, this wont be the right school for you.The head of this school built a perfect school for my child and I thank him for it.In USA, we spend all the resources for below average students and that is destroying our nation. However with Mr. Crook, he has the ability to do a lot with what little he has and is allowed by the state. In my opinion, Mr Crook is the perfect candidate to head the Department of Education.

The teachers and staff of Cyber Academy of South Carolina are wonderful. I have three children currently enrolled with Cyber Academy of South Carolina and have one child that graduated from CASC last year. They have all always been very helpful with any questions or concerns and are always there to help the family. They make the classes fun and interesting and are always cheerful and happy to be there. Some of the teachers and staff that stood out most to us for my son who graduated last year are Mrs. Gomillion, she called us several times during senior year to check on my son and just lend an ear and a hand with anything he needed. Mrs. Kountz was always there for us because we had tons of questions for senior year, she was patient and polite even with repeated emails from me... Ms. Powell is known by my son as the best english teacher ever. He always enjoyed her classes and encouragement. All of his teachers were always there for him and truly care for their students. My younger children who are still enrolled have enjoyed the K2 group of teachers so much. You can hear the smiles in Mrs. Johnsons voice when she is teaching and helping the students. She is awesome. Mrs. Pinyan is very caring and my daughters have always enjoyed her classes as well. We have attended some face to face outings and of course testing. The teachers here, even though a lot of times they are not your students homeroom teachers, always greet you with care and are happy you are there. Mrs. Eckstrom is always a shining star at these outings, she works very hard to help everyone. We also always appreciate the support we get from administration, such as Mrs. Decatur letting us know and congratulating us about attendance. The awesome newsletters from Mrs. Craft, and Mr. White for test result, report cards and any other important matters. We just appreciate everyone so much and my children and I love our school! Thank you all!

CASC has been a HUGE life saver for us! Were going into our 4th year, and we couldnt be happier! All of the teachers weve had to this point have been completely amazing, and the administrators are no different. We started out at the beginning of the 8th grade year, not really knowing what to expect, but, grades have improved tremendously, (straight As the last 3 years) self-esteem has improved tremendously, responsibility over her education is amazing! NHS, Beta Club, Drama Club: these are just a sample of the clubs my daughter has been given the chance to excel in... CASC is truly amazing... they care about you as a person and as a family, and they do everything in their power to help you achieve your academic goals.... So, as you can see... OUR FAMILY ARE TRUE PROUD HERONS!!!#cascrocks#cascptsorocks

Every now and then you find a school with teachers that really love their jobs and want to help your child succeed. Unfortunately, this school isnt it. I wish I could give this 0 stars. The teachers here are rude (at least regular ed K-2 and some office staff), unprofessional, lazy, and blatantly disrespectful. They care more about their ego than your childs education. They are responsible for my son losing the entire 1st half of the first grade curriculum due to egos. Save yourself, save your student(s)--Do NOT send your children here. They will not look in the best interest of your child.

We love schooling with K12 and Cyber Academy of South Carolina, because we know our student is safe at school, because we can start our day when we choose to, so no matter what kind of morning we are having, we dont miss school, because the curriculum is top notch, and because the teachers are great, and they are always available for help when it is needed!

If I could have given o stars I would have. My daughter was an honor student and was to be in the accent Program. I was assured by staff that not only would it be recognized, but catered to! I wish Id listened to my gut instinct when I signed up for the other K12 school offered for S.C.... Had I Listened to Inctinct, I wouldnt be where I am now. This school made homeschooling for the first year IMPOSSIBLE! I COULDNT GET THE HEAD OF SCHOOL, I WAS THROWN INTO A PROGRAM FOR DELIQUENT CHILDREN, I WAS GIVEN POINTS FOR NOT DOING THINGS FRIENDS OF MINE NEVER EVER DID, I WAS TALKED DOWN TO, AND MY CHILDREN WERE ADMINISTRATIVELY WITHDRAWN USING ANOTHER STUDENTS INFORMATION!!!I would not recommend ANYONE EVER use this school for any reason . Anyone that would like the entire story and/or emails, ss, links to back up what I say, please dont hesitate to contact me. Id be more than happy to share.***Parents considering this school, do yourself (and your children a favor) and DONT!!!

Very disappointed. I have 2 other children at SCVCS thru K12 and that’s been a good experience! With trying to enroll my son in CASC mid-year at semester break, incorrect classes assigned and no one responds to change them and it has been over a week. Homeroom teacher responds ASAP but admin and guidance ignore emails and calls. Either try to enroll at the beginning of the school year only, or try to allow a month so that mistakes can be corrected well ahead of your given start date. We are withdrawing and using the online private school option just to speed things along—SCVCS seems far more organized than CASC (they just weren’t accepting mid-year).
