I would not recommend this school for any kid. They put my kid in a choke lock what they call a restraint. My kid was in the hospital and the police at this school didnt do anything this school is filled with racist people. This school is the devil if I was you I would withdraw he or she from the school.

During my time as a Special Education student at RISD from elementary school, middle school and highschool I was sent to two locations to receive prescriptions and consoling because the school district suggested I were to be taken here during school days and during the morning. One of them was in Dallas and this one here in Garland.I would suggest to take your children to somebody who really wants to see a genuine change in them and not here. They do have all the things your kid needs like a doctor and a therapist. When I was here they never had a gated-security detail outside the school - they now do.Strongly suggest that you research what prescriptions they give you. They are usually the reason why you are suggested to take your kid to a consoler. Its not the meds that will send your kid to the therapists - its the personal experience and treatment they gained from being a Special Education student.Personally on my end - I never ever talked about myself to the therapists because I thought they were not going to help me. Could never put my trust in other people because the school district did a piss poor job at handling students like me which is why I never showed progress in front of the doctors or therapists. The experiences and treatment I got from RISD has given me a soldiers level of PTSD in less than a half-decade and I didnt know at the time that it was a bad thing.The doctors do care about the children given to them. Its just that said children would most likely be broken people. Ive seen people who were like adults and teenagers moaning as if they didnt have any minds of their own while they drooled. There is probably a reason why their doctors kept on leaving this place for a different location.The prescriptions I got from here were anti-psychotics that were in the early stages of testing with HIGH chances of failure. Said prescription was never supposed to be given to a patient with ADHD or ADD as it would screw up their brains in the long run - which it did for most.Such a good way to legally screw human lives over if you tell me.This review is based on my personal experiences with RISD.
