I do not recommend letting your child come to this school. I came here at the end of the year I havent seen nor heard one positive thing since Ive started this school. It is full of disrespectful staff, its dirty, broken down crowded, and racist. This school is not only a high school. There is a middle school inside of it! Middle school girls like to gain attention from male seniors which is not right at all. This school is horrible. Rumors were spread among students about a few teachers having an inappropriate relationship with students. The lunch food is worst it seems like theyre feeding us dog food, which would be fine if we were dogs ! they need to shut this school down or make a lot of changes. If your thinking about switching your children school I recommend Dunbar High School its a very good school with great teachers.

I definitely disagree with all the comments the school is good, I switched from gateway to Riverdale n I’m thinking of moving back because gateway is sm better w/ discipline You rarely see a fight break out a gateway well at any other school it’s an every day thing and the teachers aren’t bad your child will learn what they want to learn it’s all about the effort they put forth and the attention they pay in class while yes there could be some bad teachers there’s bad teachers at every school but I do agree that they should have more programs for students and transportation could be better but over all it isn’t a bad school at all

There are NO programs for special needs students. There is NO Exceptional Student Education specialist, no one to coordinate IEPs or assist teachers to benefit special needs students. There is no speech therapy, occupational therapy, or physical therapy. There is ONE counselor for ALL students grades 6-12. For non-English speaking students or students with limited English skills, they must rely solely on the kindness of their classmates. There is no library, and very limited elective options. The administration is concerned about money and their sorry rating while the seriously disturbed 19-year-old in 9th grade is ignored. The students are being cheated while the administration expects miracles from teachers who are given no resources or support. Give your children better.

Revised Review: Teachers and academics stand par with Florida Standards. The teachers GENUINELY care for the students. - However, with that said there is a distinct lack of respect coming from administration towards the students. - Its almost as though the administrators are annoyed by the presence of students. - I was the Freshman President at Gateway Charter, and though I loved the school and its students; I had MORE THAN reason to assess one of the secretaries as incompetent and problematic. - Principles helped when it came to academics, however the lack of a guidance counselor clearly proposed an issue being that I wasnt able to seek help for more nitty gritty things, not necessarily emotional situations. - Overall a 3/5 school.

This school is terrible, and absolutely disgusting. The reason why im being so harsh is because ive been at this school for YEARS more than 5, and nothing has ever been improved. In fact its gotten worse than ever, teachers are leaving, from either innapropriate behavior such as throwing objects, lack of teaching, or rude behavior, which shows how they cant even hire qualified teachers. Students are also leaving because theyre seeing exactly what im seeing and btw theres barely any programs for advancement and the food is disgusting as well as bland as they just heat it up.

This school is not good academically they probably paid people to rate it 5 stars because let me tell you I went there 6 years and most of the teachers are substitutes they dont know how to teach they get teachers that were fired from other schools and bring them here because they have no other choice and until last year I didnt even know they had a counselor because all he did is sit in his office and pretend to do something on his computer and electives suck they dont have any I had to take 2 art classes and 3 gyms because they didnt switch classes dont send your kid here unless you want him to be a dumb kid and get 0 scholarships

Let me tell you, all the childrens here are dis-re-spect-ful and so are the teachers. I mean dont get me wrong theres a few good teachers that actually care but the rest? oh no hunty, dont even get me started. Dont even have your phone in your pocket bc they will snatch that. Dont bring a jacket, ya gotta freeze boo bc they taking that too. Dont speak your mind, they send you to 225 disciple. This school makes themselves seem so good but trust me b, they not.🙄

This is my senior year an i haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate this school, id rather eat prison food then this crap. at least they dont put snails in my vegtables. There is probably a handful of fantastic teachers, this school false advertises. Save your kid a year of hell of highschool an send them to riverdale or east lee. Same goes for middle school. Its hell.
