Because of imminent threat of a storm we will now evacuate the premise for safety of the people were the exact words said during the 2018 graduation over nothing too because 1. It didnt even rain and 2. Even if it did most of people there had umbrellas on hand essentially making us evacuate for nothing. The graduation started at 7:00pm and ended at 9:00pm really late for a graduation with 300 students in the senior class

Very disappointing enrollment process. Takes to long to enroll a child; they could simply give a packet to prepare the parent for the process--a long one--and the parent and child could work on completing it...but NO, a guidance counselor must be involved. I work and thats not convenient...and its ridiculous. Just enroll them and then do the meeting with guidance counselor. No one inconveniences the school system but its okay to inconvenience the parent? NOT ACCEPTABLE. I will have to take yet another day from work to complete this process. Very unhappy and upset.

As an involved parent... worse counseling experience ever. I requested an appointment, once there I felt rushed and like I was putting a dent on his time. Experts??? Yeah right! If my son is assigned the same counselor next year best believe that will be the first thing that I will request to change. Cant really say anything negative about the education. SOME of the teachers really seem to want to help, and did. Other than that not impressed at all.

I dont appreciate schools that do not take sexual assault seriously and set a terrible example for young men and women. You turned off your commenting ability on facebook to prevent people from speaking up, maybe you should actually adress it and handle things properly. Good luck to the female students that attend this school, apparently you need it.

I really would like to know how it is possible for a child to be pulled out of class by a complete stranger without any consent from the parent. My 17 year old brother was pulled out of class by another student’s parent so she could confront him about an incident that happened outside of school. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! Is the school not responsible for the child’s safety while he is there. We will be calling the school this Monday for their standard procedure because this is absolutely unacceptable.

This is a long review, but I couldn’t let negative reviews stand without something positive being known about Fayette County High School. Not sure about the negative reviews...each person’s experience is different and I don’t want to discredit what they went through, but I had to write this because it’s extremely disheartening to see negative reviews cast a shadow on all the good that takes place at FCHS and for people to form a negative opinion or decision based off that alone. Not everyone will agree with me and it’s ok but I want to make sure positive things are put out there and known about Fayette County High School. There is good and bad everywhere you go, but in this case the good definitely outweighs the bad. NO school in Fayette County is perfect. We’ve personally had 2 children and a relative attend FCHS. One graduated in 2017, 2018, and the other will be graduating in 2019. We’ve had excellent experiences with their counselors and teachers! Mrs. McDermott was one of the best counselors ever! She made sure that our son had and met all the requirements needed to graduate. Our other son’s counselor is also making sure he’s meeting his requirements as well. Communication is excellent! Anytime I needed a question answered they were there to be sure our children were taken care of. The teachers and staff care about the students and do their best to help them do their best to excel. Our oldest son had a challenge and his teachers, counselors, including the principal came together in a meeting along with my husband, our son and me to make sure he had everything he needed to overcome the challenge he was having. They were in his corner, supporting and rooting him on to make sure he had everything he needed to excel! Anything he needed they made sure he had!Numerous students graduated from FCHS with honors, high honors, scholarships, etc. and that speaks for itself. Also, the track team is impeccable! FCHS was the only high school in Fayette County to win 2018 events first in the state of GA and was the only Fayette County High School invited to the Powerade All Metro High School Track and Field Banquet! I know first hand that students (including my own) work extremely hard academically and in sports. To be honest, because of negative reviews, we hesitated at first to send our eldest son (2017 graduate) to attend FCHS so we decided to set up an appointment to talk with the counselor to talk with her first hand for ourselves instead of making a decision based off of negative reviews. SO glad we did! I know someone else who did the same and they were thoroughly impressed! What a difference it makes to find out information for yourselves first hand and have your concerns and questions answered. Lesson learned for us...it’s dangerous to make a decision based strictly on reviews instead taking the time to visit and talk with the people/staff for yourselves. We found out so many positives things that you won’t hear otherwise. FCHS tends to get slighted in comparison to the other high schools in Fayette County because of it’s diversity and socioeconomic status, but there are some phenomenal families, students and staff here FCHS. My advise...make an appointment and speak with a staff member...principal, assistant principal, or counselor for yourself. You will definitely get a different view of FCHS that normally doesn’t get publicized! In my opinion, Fayette County High is Fayette County’s best kept secret!

My siblings and I all went to FCHS. Its a great school with many great teachers; youll definitely get a good education here. Sports, clubs, and other extra curricular activities are amazing. I highlight the Marching Tiger Band as one of the schools best assets...(shoutout to Dr.Rhoden!!) Overall a great school.
