I couldnt have been happier to allow my daughter to attend Sunshine Preschool when she was younger. She is now 17, entering her senior year in high school, and still recalls moments at Sunshine. Crazy, right! Cheryl and Thom always worked with my crazy working schedule. So many milestones my daughter accomplished during her time with Sunshine. My favorite was always the end of the year concert the kids did. So cute! Plus, my favorite mothers day gift was made during my daughters time at Sunshine preschool. Would never hesitate for a moment to encourage children to attend this lovely and well-established school.

Sunshine Preschool & All Day Camp is an amazing preschool to bring your child. It has been a true blessing for my son & family. Tom & Cheryl Thien are the educators and the owners. My son has gone to school there for 3 1/2 years and it has been a joy. They have become family! They are so caring, attentive and work on your childs strengths & cultivate the desire for your child to learn. They work with the program EC Cares for children that may need extra help. Sunshine is a safe & clean environment. The school is a very happy and fun environment. My child loves it there and ALWAYS looks forward to going to school.

We were so very blessed to have Sunshine preschool in our lives. We were in a couple different daycares before we found this one. I asked the local elementary who they love getting kids from and they said “SUNSHINE! Hands down, Sunshine!” They said they started Kindergarten with a strong base of phonics, a love to read, an understanding of class community, kindness and an a desire to learn. They were very right. My kids loved the dance classes, cooking classes, nature walks, art, reading, reading and more reading. Teacher Cheryl is also on the look out for new opportunities for her school. Grants, scholarships, school visits from professionals, you name it she had it all. Highly recommend! Once we found them we never left until they aged out.

I can not say enough amazing things about this school. Two of the most dedicated, loving, brilliant, fun and educated people I have ever met run this school. All 3 of my children went here, and all 3 of my children still love teacher Thom and teacher Cheryl. It is a true pre SCHOOL. Real learning and interactive daily routines, not just a babysitter for working parents. This school will have my hear forever!

Extraordinary Directors/Teachers, Cheryl and Tom continue a long tradition of excellence. My granddaughter attended, I volunteered, then helped out under a literacy grant. Sunshine is truly that, rays of beautiful sunshine for children in their care. These talented professionals make it look so easy, yet excellence is evidenced in everything. Best preschool Ive ever seen. As former K-6, Preschool Principal, I can assure you this is a top-notch school for littles, developmentally appropriate, play-based, yet basic life skills taught for now and later, more than superior. Expect heartwarming activities unique to their program. Outstanding play and garden areas, computer skills, fundamental academics, sign language, presentations & productions. This caring school, summer program cannot be topped anywhere, in my opinion, but you can trust me. Fifty year educator. Mrs. Rita M. Wirtz, MA.

I had experience with Cheryl when I was a child, and she was a nightmare in how she treated children. For one instance, she for some reason had rules against a child climbing on the monkey bars. If a child climbed on them and got stuck in the middle, and say he was scared because he didnt know how to get down, she would gather all the children around just so they could watch him fall. That kid was 3 or 4.Years later, to my stupidity, I put my child in their care because they were affiliated with the family. My son was 4, he returned with injury on one occasion with a busted lip. She quickly met me at the door to let me know that, It was ALL MY SONS FAULT. Which I dont doubt, little ones play carelessly, but around that time my son bumped his head, began crying, and in effort to comfort him, I asked,Are you okay, buddy?Mind you my son is BARELY talking, and replies,It all my fault!Cheryl puts A LOT of importance in blaming children, which I firmly recall from being in her care. In the end, its her word against a kids, and the kid always loses. One time, I picked up my son from her, took him to the car and buckled him in. It was immediately apparent that something was wrong with my son as his eyebrows were furrowed. I asked,Whats wrong, buddy?!He BURST into tears excessively, and replied,They touch me!I went back to inquire if Cheryl knew what he was talking about, and she got intensely defensive suggesting that I was implying the touch was sexual in nature, which I suggested that I had no reason to believe, but rather he was treated aggressively. She denied knowing anything, and indicated that it was at NO fault of hers, but as a child, I clearly witnessed and remember her handling children roughly in a way she could and would deny later.Simple fact: Cheryl DOES NOT love children, shes crazy, and sees kids as little more than a paycheck, which shows as she feels she should be paid even if she isnt watching the kid just to help her make ends meet. She tries to project a childs utopia, but its anything but!Years later, now that my son speaks clearly, he has indicated that they treated him horribly. All the years of my sons life, he has been overjoyed to be around other kids, so his memories of Sunshine preschool and Cheryl shouldnt be so dark. In the years since, he has reiterated to me how glad he was when I pulled him out.I thought she would have changed after so many years, but I was stupid and gullible, and Cheryl is still crazy. I cant believe she doesnt have more bad reviews, and I cant believe people still leave their children with her. I hope this wrong eventually corrects itself.
