What a great school!! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming from the black belts to the white belts. Take it from a newbie, you want to be here. I been here a month and Its obvious this school has a great base for customer service and an emphasis on proper jiu jitsu technique. Their policies are not overbearing and they dont make you sign any contracts. The school has recently been redesigned and looks amazing inside. There is lots of room for rolling! Well done GBE! Definitely have my recommendation!

I had a great experience at the encinitas location, the staff are kind, respectful and patient, as well as the students, there is a healthy competition but more so a common desire to learn and look after each other. Further more I had experienced some issues with my membership but after a few calls the team was hasty to fix the issue and give me some good news. Over all the people here are great!

Such a good and welcoming environment at this school, I would have gone every day while in town if I could have. It would be a real treat, at any age and skill level, to be able to train here regularly.

My 6-year-old son has been attending this school for the past year, and it has been the best extracurricular activity we have signed him up for. Coach Matt and Victor have high expectations, yet treat the kids with such great respect! My son looks up to and respects them so much!Ms. Barbara is so amazing with parents and kids as well. Professor Matt and the other instructors are fantastic! I can only speak for the kids classes, but they keep the kids focused, learning and having fun the whole time. My boy loves it. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic school. Our family trains here and could not be happier. From the professors to the students it feels like a family. The kids programs and large schedule makes it easy for us to train because there is always a class. The place is very welcoming to new students and there is a comfortable area to watch class. My 10 year old son trains at this facility. We started in August and I couldn’t be happier with Gracie Barra, Encinitas. The place is clean and well run. The instructors are fantastic and focus on every student and their progress with 4-5 instructors on the mat every class. Administratively the place is totally well run too. Really can’t say enough good things about it.

We have had an amazing experience so far at Gracie Barra Encinitas. The instruction is excellent. The atmosphere is like a big family. We have made friends through this studio, and our son has had an opportunity to learn respect, to follow direction, and has grown in confidence and strength.

I came to Gracie Barra Encinitas on a whim about 4 years ago when I was looking for a way to stay in shape and learn some self defense skills. From a lifestyle perspective, it is hands down one of the best decisions Ive ever made! Great group of instructors and great group of guys (and girls) to train with. To put it into perspective, my family and I are looking for a new house and my main criteria is to be within a 15 minute drive of GBE!

Started here when it opened in 2005 and never stopped. Did 2x before but I started over again. Is one of the best experiences I have ever had with top notch instructors that really know how to teach Jiu-jitsu.

This is truly an amazing place to train. All of the instructors are world class and great at showing you the art of jiu-jitsu in a way that is easy to understand and fun.

It has been two years that my 7 and 5 years old sons are training Jiu Jtsu on GB Encinitas and they absolutely love it. Its a great family environment, the instructors make sure to teach our kids what they know best, from being strong to respecting each other. We are very happy to belong in this community and cant wait for my two year old son to join them.

Gracie Barra Encinitas is a great school for kids and adults. I have trained at several Jiu-jitsu schools and this one is top notch. The instructors Nelson, Rafael and Matt do a great job of teaching and coaching!

I Recently took a trip down to the California Coast and I had the opportunity to stop and check Gracie Barra Encinitas, the access to the club is extremely easy,less than a mile of the Highway 5.I am a Jiu Jitsu practitioner for several years and I couldnt help myself to get amused by this place, starting from the instructors who are top notch and well recognized in the martial arts international community but also by the organization of this school.The mats are very spacious and the gym is spot less clean, there is a seating area for the parents and the atmosphere is super friendly, they have a very well known Kids Program with several kids learning a non violent effectively form of self defense right down from the core of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.However Gracie Barra Encinitas isnt a place for kids only although their Childrens program is very Best and vibrant their adult Beginners program is also very Best among guys and girls as a matter of fact one of their instructors is a well qualified female, whos the differential on this place in terms of women instruction.Some of the best BJJ practitioners in the area train at this place among them World and National Champions and they are all super friendly and welcoming, willing to share and to propagate the growth of their group which makes Gracie Barra Encinitas the ultimate Martial Arts facility in the area.I couldnt say enough good things about Gracie Barra Encinitas and I rightly recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn in a family, friendly, safe and clean environment.

There are only a few people that I know that bring together a inpiring charisma with deep knowledge in Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu such as Master Nelson Monteiro and Prof Rafael Ramos. These guys are awesome and so is the Gracie Barra Encinitas Team. I recommend this school for anyone who is looking for a place to be inspired, get in shape and learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
