I only ever been to this school a few times. But, I love it. Its a school thats devoted to illustration and all its forms. If Id known earlier about this school...Well, I guess Id still be struggling. But Im sure Id be in a better position than I am now. Dont get me wrong, I love the schools I graduated from but illustration is the only thing that ever worked for me.Being Family owned, and that family being giants in the comic industry, doesnt hurt either. With an amazing alumni and staff, when you want to learn illustration and/or put your drawing skills to use- Join The Kubert School!!!

Some teachers are great at explaining and actually teaching, but some are not teachers. Also, they take your tuition and then waste it! Field trips are mandatory yet they can’t organize anything constructive. Wasting students time going to the zoo! All the students complain and are unhappy about that. Just need to do more for the students art experience. Also, you may learn stuff from this school, but be aware that you will not walk out with a degree. We struggle to find art related jobs because not everyone knows this school and recognizes it the way it should be. Places want or require a bachelors degree and it just seems like business dont see this as an actual college.

I recommend to the teachers that they actually teach something and not just let the kids just draw there like its a daycare. My daughter went to that school and barely learned something.

I went here in July for about a month. Very friendly staff & teachers, sort of wish we learned more but the lessons weren’t that bad. Just to say, going here is certainly not cheap. I feel some parents complain about sending their kids here because when their children returned home and they asked “what did you learn today?”, their child doesn’t have a good enough answer because they weren’t paying attention. If your child cannot sit down without getting distracted for Atleast an hour, don’t even bother sending them here. The program is 3 hours a day (depending on your schedule) and 5 days a week. This school offers more potential to kids who know how to pay attention, and don’t just fool around the entire time and treat their time here like it is some daycare. Some of us actually want to learn and these ignorant parents are ruining it by sending their kids here, who can’t even bother to learn what they’re telling us. The time that they give us in class to “freedraw” isn’t meant to be spent fooling around, they give us free time to work on any projects assigned to us, or to practice the skills we learned during class in your sketchbook. Some people take this expirence for granted.

The Kubert School discriminates against homeless applicants. Advanced age may keep you out as well. You wont get in, you wont get an interview, and your portfolio wont even be accepted. Very nasty experience with a recruiter; Ill never recover from such a vicious snub.
