The professors here are the best teachers I’ve ever had and they are some of the nicest people I’ve ever known! They are great educators, and they do their job, give them a raise! But they are not the reason for the low rating, the college administration, welcome center, and security here are terrible, for example the welcome center is very slow and unorganized, and they don’t do their job properly, not to mention that the college is overly expensive! All the administration cares about is making money, they don’t care about the students. Even the security here is honestly terrible random people can just walk into campus without anyone knowing who they are or what their business is at the college.

Great Museum to visit.. I attended a few years ago with sisters during the Emancipation Proclamation gallery exhibit. I listened to captured slave member stories on a telephone post. I believe the secret service was there protecting the gallery for some reason. People waited inline for 10hrs to view historic venues.. Enjoy whatever you see... Good blessings to you..

Not about futures, about money! I already have a masters degree. I signed up for a CAD class as a refresher. I did via the phone with a person from registration. I had not attended this school in the past and it had been some years since I attended a community college. The last time I had, it was very affordable...the point of community college, right? Well, the registration person did not tell me the total cost for the class. The next day i received a bill for nearly $1000...FOR ONE CLASS? When did community colleges start costing as much as universities? I called that person immediately and told them I could not afford to take the course and had no idea it would be that much. He dropped me from the class but said i still required to pay for it...just 24 hours after he signed me up for it! Such BS! I refused so a year later, I didnt get the class, but a fight in collections over it. Affecting my ability to purchase a home. Thanks HFCC!

I entered the physical therapist assistant (PTA) program with a 3.9 GPA. I worked very hard and put in a lot of effort with my studies, especially during this time. Only to have the dean (her name is Cynthia Scheuer) of the PTA program, irresponsibly not show up to her appointments when I needed her help before a lab practical (and this is only one of the MANY times shes shown her irresponsibility), gossip about other students and teachers to other students in class, and to teach us the wrong material. Not to mention, she displays favoritism and has gone as far as academically abusing and mentally abusing several students, including myself. The PTA program in this school is not a good environment at all for learning. If you want a PTA career, then I highly recommend getting your education elsewhere. Its not worth it at all to come here.

Its all about money. Online classes are totally scam!! In each class, you will find an instructor name but everything runs by computers even exams and grading. Although online courses dont cost them the same as on compass ones, they still charge you the same money. I contact what supposed to be my instructor for SOC-131online regarding my academic work three days ago. However, I have never heard back. I try to contact the associate dean, but I havent get a response yet. On the other hand, I did get an email that reminds me about payment due date this morning!!!

I remember Henry Ford Community College in the mid-80s. It was a nice College back then. U of M Dearborn was there at the time also. but they were not together. University of Michigan Dearborn seemed so much nicer than Henry Ford Community College. Now when you look at Henry Ford Community College and how it has expanded, it is very impressive. There is a saying that, 50% of students, who go to community colleges in their hometown usually, do not complete their degrees. So when it was time for my grandson to go to a college and not leave the city, we decided on Henry Ford Community College. One of the many factors that help students with their College adjustment is, having a place to stay nearby. We tried the Union,, the dorm for University of Michigan. The requirements for the rooms gave us the impression, they didnt want Henry Ford students staying there, even though, theyve stated otherwise. So, we went to Henry Ford Community themselves asking for guidance and they recommended the River Oaks apartments, on Evergreen Road, north of Ford Road, with a student discount, just a step away from the school. Henry Ford has made it feel as if hes in a dorm. So far this has been a great experience for him and we are really proud. Thank you Henry Ford Community College. You have given a university feel to so many whom otherwise, would not have been able to experience it. Just one more great thing under a great name.

I understand that each College or University has the freedom of academic teaching but to have a professor playing video with using the N word then the professor repeating it on more than one occasion. Then you make fun of individuals religion beliefs and calling them dumb who believes in higher power. Also for the same professor to say that the U.S military members are not heroes, and vets do not need extra attention or help then turn around and say the U.S Military members are terrorist. I can not stand for what makes things worst is that the President of Academic Affairs say he can say and teach how ever he wants he has that freedom ( by the way our military help him have). I tell you this He will not have my Money I will not pay anyone salary that insult religion, race and My Military...

You get what you pay for. Classes are not that challenging but are cheap. Good place to take summer and spring classes as that is two semesters. Instructors are good!

Ive been there for quite some time now and I highly suggest that anyone considering to attend, not even bother. They will screw you over completely and are not willing to truly help even though they claim they are. Dont believe them, run for the hills. Too many lies and inexperience all around.

The classrooms are clean and nice. So are the bathrooms. BUT the bookstore is a scam. I paid $200.00 for a book then when i finished using it they offered me $20 bucks for it. Thieves. And they were still selling it for 200 AT LEAST THROW A DUDE A DECENT OFFER

Financial aid had covered it but according to the school, I had dropped my classes before it was dispersed. They only want the money. Avoid this place

This college was a bad experience. They will not help you. They will keep holding you back and they WILL DISCOURAGE YOU. Councelors do nothing to help you. They only try to change your mind and put you behind. They tell you to change your major because youre not smart enough for the one you decided on. Think twice. Go to a better school.

This is the place that would set you up to fail, if you’re a mediocre student to be honest. Some professors are so condescending and even some counselors and advising staff will discourage you. The campus’s tuition prices have been rising every year so they can keep gardening the school and doing a bunch of unnecessary things. I have met a lot of nice, understanding professors who have even said that HFC’S curriculum is more difficult than average. Stick to WCCC or just transfer directly to a university unless you want to be mentally dragged.

Two stars because I do like many of the teachers Ive had over the years. The other three stars are lost due to the fact that Ive had a Dearborn address on file for years but yet they werent giving me the Dearborn rate. Perhaps this is why they dropped community out of their name.

Some of the instructors are really really helpful, Theres people who transferred from here to university of michigan dearborn from general computer information systems and were actually ahead in the university!! If your complaining about the instructors you dont belong here because i highly recommend this school if you want to be a programmer!

I recently graduated from this College ( May 2017) With a degree in CNC Machines. It was a nice and pleasant experience.Now, fair warning, if you are of non-Muslim decent (You know a black person or white person) and your planning on coming here for an education, there is a very very high number of Muslims at attend this College now.The Muslim count has slowly been increasing over the years here at this College and, well, you might find your College experience here to be painfully blan and boring here, because Muslims are all about peace and harmony and they are very very quite people.So if you think that your going to party and get wild and crazy at this College, think again because its not going to happen.Just a little heads up before you enroll here.

Terrible place to get an education. If you some how make it past financial aid, then good luck dealing with the professors enployed at the school. Also their internet is terrible, I cant even go on google. All this and they charge a $78.00 infastructure fee. Just terrible. Youre better off not going to college. It seems to me that the school is just running a scheme and collecting as much money as possible before they get caught. I paid out of my own pocket to fail. Thanks obama. I registered as a guest student, with difficulty. The website leaves a lot to be desired, logging you off before you have a chance to complete your tasks and requiring lots of twists and turns to get to where you need to be.I was shocked to see the price was as much as at my university. I found I had to take over documents to show I am in-district to get a discount even though they already had my address listed. I was not informed that there is a very small window in which your registration is held before you are dropped for non-payment. In my institution we are given until almost half-way through the term to make a payment. So I re-registered and discovered that I was still not listed as a resident!The phone service is horrible. Any number you call involves waiting through a long spiel of directions for where else to find your information and how to contact other departments - even when you were told you had been given the direct line.The teachers are hit or miss, as with any institution and there are great teachers here, but the misses are gigantic misses. Teachers do not respond to students. They leave the classroom or even do not show up to classes without notice!The textbooks are outrageously priced. This is from a guest student who has taken upper level courses at a four-year institution! Never have I been stolen from before. Example: The materials for a 100-level course cost me over $400. Yes. No lie.I enrolled as a guest student here because its closer to my house and I thought it would be more affordable for non-required classes. But I would have saved money and strain driving an hour to my university and received a more reliably high degree of education.

As a attending student with 1 year of experience at this college, I am sure to say that this is a college filled with unprofessional employees. From counselors, advisors, and even professors, they are completely disrespectful and disorganized. I am baffled by their disability to encourage students to seek out for help.

First I would like to begin by declaring how I am starting my second semester here at Henry Ford Community College where I am attending classes regulated with the Michigan Transfer Agreement. However, if my opinion of this school changes I will change my decision of 5 stars. My first semester at this school was troublesome, but I firmly believe that has to do with my poor high school college guide. Even though I took two classes that are not transferable to the University I have in mind my advisor helped to correct me and set me on the right path. That is not to say that the advisors here at perfect, however, when it comes down to it, they did help get my foot on the right path. People often complain about money when they come to think about this college; I do not believe money is a substantial concern. The college recently worked on the J-building which is a beautiful building for science courses that give off a taste of real college life. With other renovations they have conducted I can understand why my 3-4 credit classes cost the price they do. Because in reality, I do feel comfortable at this campus with minimal complaints. The only problems I do have is the college store, not the book prices which even though they are outlandish they are not the issue I have, the real concern I face is the lack of knowledge done by the workers there. I bought a book for my course CIS125 which I was told was required for my CIS125 Conti class. However, this was not true and a waste of money. Overall, this college is a community college, and apparently, there will be things that are missing, but at the end of the day, its an excellent college I am happy to spend the beginning of my education at.

I hate this college with every fiber of my being. Some of the loosest record keeping I have ever seen in a professional learning institution. I have submitted my official high school transcript at least half a dozen times over the years, when asking for a transcript, and they always say we dont have your diploma on file. Send it to us and we can process. What? What about the last one I sent? Or the one before that? Or the one before that....? This semester, my student account shows that all my FinAid documents are received, reviewed and good to go.....only to find out I will not be receiving FinAid this semester because they didnt have my Fafsa? How is that possible? It was submitted and my account said you had everything you needed to process my Aid? This college, its administration, and its record keeping is a total joke. I thank God every day that this is my last semester with them.....for the sake of my sanity.

Their classes may be cheaper but unless you plan on finishing here, its not worth it. They will run you out of your pell grants forcing you to take classes you dont even need. Second I do not, I repeat I definitely do NOT recommend going to this school at all if you plan on majoring in physical therapist assisting. The professors in there (especially the one in charge of this program) are very sloppy, irresponsible, unprofessional, and are just downright rude and disrespectful. A portion of the material they teach is also very outdated. Out of all my years in schooling, I have never come across something like this. If you want to become a PTA, I strongly recommend you consider going to another school. Any school but this one.

There are a handful of good teachers at this school; however, they do not offset the deplorable administration. The schools administration cannot be relied on for providing accurate information, and no one will be held accountable for their actions. It is next to impossible to get answers, they would rather send you from one department to another. My frustrations with this school and their lack of concern for the students is immeasurable.I would also like to state that I received an associate degree, and graduated with a 4.0. Im not just a student posting something because Im upset I had to work at my classes, or because I didnt receive a grade I wanted. I should have had two associate degrees from HFCC, but due to the schools misinformation I did not get my second degree. Additionally, this cost me a significant amount of time, money, and stress.

Let me tell you a thing. This school sucks. I took what learning I could get but the teachers dont care about you, even if the stuff theyre teaching isnt easily taught. The parking lot pulls out the bad driver out of everyone, just to get a good spot. I once saw 3 car accidents in one flipping day. People are stupid. Make a parking structure like U of M has, it has an elevator for convenience. The HFC WebAdviser is a pain to use. It has everything to do with registration and email handling, it keeps getting and updates and maintenance so many times each week. I wish I could do everything manually on campus, but the parking lot sucks and I have an excuse to be lazy because of it. The campus is noisy. Every lobby is filled with students that yell and curse without any respect for those who are being quiet, if theyre studying or not. Some teachers blame students in front of everyone else. The bathrooms are nasty. It rarely gets cleaned. Classes that take place in computer rooms, no one can use the computer. I have taken 3 classes and I cant use the computer. Every professor isnt the same, and I have to go to ratemyprofessor so I dont get a bad teacher. All of the reviews are biased anyway. This place just recently switched from being a community college, probably to raise prices for classes and people living in Dearborn cant get anymore benefits or discounts. I dont even want to try job placement.

Customer service is terrible,if you have an issue with the school or want to set an appointment for a counselor you stay on hold for 30 minutes or more.You can’t speak to anyone that knows what they are doing.The campus is always filled with students running around and being loud.There is no place to study. No one is that qualified at hfcc.

From reading the other reviews, their pretty accurate. The professors are hit and miss and the miss professors miss by a long shot. The majority the professors do not work with the students, require unrealistic standards along with rarely showing for class and poor explanations of material. Dont plan on using the HFCC library as your main study atmosphere. The area is constantly loud, poor study stations set up and very small. As a young female in my early 20s, I dont feel the campus security is doing much of anything. Most of the guards look like peers and are bored just waiting to go home. On the off chance that the security guard is alert they are socializing with the students and paying no mind to the area they should be supervising. I honestly feel if something did happen the majority of the security guards would just stand there dumbfounded trying to figure out what to do. I have completed one year and am seriously considering transferring to another college and perhaps a university.

I have been having issues with Henry Ford since May when I initially enrolled. After not being able to start classes due to my financial aid not being processed in 4 months, Ive decided to go to another school. Your staff needs to be retrained and the lack of communication amongst staff (in my opinion) is a reflection of poor management. Coming from a student who went to Michigan State, this has been the most hassle ridden experience Ive ever had trying to enroll back into school. There shouldnt be barriers for people trying to go to school and continue their education.

I went for a campass tour and I was very pleased, but I called and called and called trying to get ahold of SOMEONE for ask a very quick question. More than half the time, I got voicemails with weeks of no call backs, and when I finally spoke to someone, I was in the middle of a sentence and the girl put me on hold and then hung up on me! Im questioning my thoughts about going to this school.

This school is the worst they dont care about you as a student i have been needing assistance for almost 4 months now regarding my credits and graduation i reached out in December and got a response the end of February . The always try to rush you off the phone. I have 4 more classes and i will be transferring schools i refuse to be at a school that dont care of there students!!!!!!!!!

Bought a book same day they wouldnt let me exchange it or return the book it is still brand-new and wrapped up in plastic the assistant manager is very rude and racist. He let a female infront of me exchange her book but not me because i bought the wrong book and he said its my fault worst book store ever

Currently in the process of filing a lawsuit against this university. I never attended their school and dropped my classes yet they still sent me a bill. Then tried to place it on my credit report. Im going to cost youre school lots of time and money just to make a point.

Screwing with my financial aid. Been in since July, every other day, a new paper is missing. I have a week to make sure everything is in now, and I have been fighting with them since the summer. Glad this is my last year here.

Ever since they employed a new non smoking policy & took away ash trays the campus is filthy with cigarette butts all over. Why dont they just designate an area? You cant bio-dome the campus. Security is chasing smokers like HS instead of watching for my safety, ridicoulous!
