I would not recommend Joyces driving school to anyone! The class was great and the teacher was good, however the behind the wheel driving is obviously most important because that is where young drivers actually learn. They are INCREDIBLY hard to get BTW times scheduled. We went online the same day they were posted, and there were only 4 days available for the entire month, what a joke. We cancelled a drive and were charged a fine, however when the driving school cancelled with barely 3 hours notice, nothing was done on their end. Why are the customers held to a much higher standard than they are? We contacted the school and were promised they would work with us on getting the drives in, but when we went to schedule there were only 4 days open! Additionally the man we spoke with(when they cancelled the drive) said that he drove a long way for the make up drive and gave us a sob story about being a small business. First of all, it is not our fault that they messed up the driving schedule and had to have him drive up to do a make-up, that is 100% on the driving school. Secondly, is it just me, or are small business supposed to be great with customer service? I thought it was only large companies that walked all over their customers, but apparently Joyces driving school only wants to claim to be a small business when it benefits them, but not when they actually have to act like one when it comes to customer satisfaction. If you are reading this review, save some money and a lot of frustration and go to a different driving school.

My son took drivers ed at Joyces, and we were thrilled with the experience. Joyce walked me through our many options and signed us up for a class that worked well with our busy schedule. Perfect for busy families. Our instructor was fantastic. He was professional, patient, attentive, kind, and experienced, and made it fun! We felt that our son was in good hands and safe on the road with Mr. Tomei. Since this location is in downtown Crystal Lake, its a great location for any of the local high school students. I highly recommend Joyces for your teenage drivers.
