It has helped our 3 year old so much! Our 3 year old has a speech delay and this place has been so helpful and welcoming. Our son is speaking more clearly and leaning self control along with following instructions a lot better and he’s only been doing martial arts here for a little less than a month. I am so thrilled we have found this place!

I couldn’t be more genuine when I say that family martial arts has been a true gem to find! Our family has felt so welcomed here since day one and our kids absolutely love coming to class every week. The passion Mr Brian and Ms Shelly have towards their students success is so undeniably clear. They put so much effort and heart into what they do and it shows on all these kids faces. It has been so amazing to watch the progression in both of our kids confidence, teamwork, focus and discipline. We are so thankful to have found them!

I enrolled my 8 year old son in October and could not have been happier with the program. My son has so much fun in class and feels so encouraged by Coach Bryan and the rest of the team. It is a very positive environment with lots of positive reinforcement, great skills and techniques for self defense, confidence building, and a good amount of exercise. I was afraid my son would be intimidated because he is very mild mannered, but instead he was encouraged to grow stronger and more confident over time and never made to feel inadequate or under too much pressure. They encourage total growth in skills, ability, confidence, community service, and friendship. I feel so blessed to have found this wonderful place for him to grow at his own pace.Highly recommended

Amazing facility with a real family feel! The owners are wonderful, professional and knowledgeable. My son has excelled in his martial arts classes and uses the discipline he’s learned in class, at home and in school. We wouldn’t want to go anywhere else for martial arts classes for our children. I highly recommend you check this place out. You won’t be disappointed. Master Brian and Shelly are the best!

When my daughter was 5, she started her martial arts journey here. We absolutely love Shelly and Brian but also the rest of the taekwondo family we grew to be a part of over time. We are a military family and after 3 years we relocated to another state. It was no problem to give a short notice and end our contract but we were sad!!

One of my biggest regrets is that I didnt put my son here a long time ago. Not only is our son pushing himself towards the goal of a black belt but is learning leadership and responsibility along the way. Mr. Brian has given him something to be invested in and feel proud of. If you are thinking of getting your kids involved in something, take them here. You wont regret it!

My kids have been in several activities and sports, and this is definitely one of the best. They focus on developing the child on so many levels, and most importantly they make it fun! The incentive system really motivates the kids to keep trying to reach the next level while keeping it within an attainable distance. The family atmosphere is very welcoming and the owner/instructor/black belt engages the parents while giving older students a chance to lead. Basically, the kids are super excited to go every day which is really all that matters in the end.

This establishment is outstanding! The coaches have really mastered the formula on fun and focus, so that the kids can learn technique without getting bored or losing interest. Coach Brian is charismatic and passionate and always has assistant coaches out on the mats helping to ensure the kids are getting as much attention as possible in a larger class setting. Coach Brian and Mrs. Shelly own this school and take pride in knowing every child and parent. They try to add personal touches like recognizing kids on their birthday with a little gift, outings (like a swim day), ninja camp, etc. Overall, my kids have a blast, they are building fundamentals like balance, strength, agility and focus...happy kids, happy mom!!!!

Family Martial Arts has had such a positive impact on my son. Not only is he learning cool martial arts moves, he is learning to be more confident, focused, responsible, and respectful. Mr. Brian (the main instructor) places a strong emphasis on character development, while also exuding patience with every student he comes into contact with. The older kids who serve as helpers/assistants are wonderful role models, and equally patient with younger children. And Shelly in the office treats everyone she comes into contact with like family. I cannot recommend Family Martial Arts enough!

It was great, until it wasnt. My daughter attended classes for about 6 months. When my daughter first started, she was getting a great workout and was super excited about attending. Then the model changed and the owners began putting other students in charge of the class. Solid instruction went out the window and the classes went from well organized chaos (because its a kids class) to a waste of my daughters time. She no longer enjoyed the classes and it became a fight. So we quit. The owners are super nice people, but putting children in charge of other children was a recipe for disaster. And, from a financial standpoint, I wasnt paying for kids to provide instruction, I was paying for the owner (who is a black belt) to provide instruction.

Had to purchase $50 worth of equipment which she told us to bring to every class, which they never used. Practice consisted of running to cones and doing no martial arts. Wanted us to sign a contract immediately and was super pushy about it. I had purchased a 6 week trial to see how my son liked it. She said that it would be an extra $200 deposit if we waited to sign. She wrote the entire contract up and wanted us to sign that day, claiming that she would rip it up if we changed our mind. The whole experience was uncomfortable. I signed up for this because of the 5 star reviews but now I think that something shady is going on, for example one of the 5 star reviews on here is from the owner herself claiming that it helped her son become a better person....and then she answered herself thanking herself for the wonderful comment. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. We really wanted to like it.

My son came to me through the foster care system. He has been with me for 3 and a half years now. He has had a lot of struggles but with the help of Family Martial Arts, he has made a complete change. He is on a color chart at school, prior to taekwondo he would be on the lowest colors. But ever since, he is always green and above. He has even hit purple a few times (top color). Today taking him to school, he asked if we could come to the school and pull weeds. He wants to help his school look nice. He wants to better his community. I am overwhelmed with joy seeing this sweet boy growing into an amazing human being!!!

My family and I have been students of Taekwondo for almost 4 years now. Two of these years have been under Coach Baker. As a current Black Belt Candidate, I can tell you that Family Martial Arts offers the broadest range of real world skills to each of their students. The children who are in Black Belt Club have the opportunity to learn many different weapons and find the one they like best versus being told which weapon you will train on and at what belt level at other schools. Family Martial Arts gives that personal touch with standards of excellence in Martial Arts. I love this school and my martial arts family!

Our children started Taekwondo training here at Family Martial Arts for about 3 years now; they will be testing for their First Degree Black Belt in 6 months. I know that taking on this endeavor with the kids would mean a lot of things for our family - coming up with the tuition and time commitment were our primary concerns.... but as we got into the curriculum and what the training entails for their future, those concerns took a backseat. The advantages of training with Instructor Brian and his team are remarkable! We could never pay them enough for their services! Our childrens future is bright because of their contributions. Desire, Discipline, Dedication, and Determination are only some of the principles taught here, and I promise you - they are evident in our children. Our children are stronger mentally, physically, and socially! Thanks to Family Martial Arts!

We are on our 3rd week here at Family Martial Arts. My boys are still as excited to go as they were on their first day! I am a picky parent who does a lot of research before I put my money into something for my kids. I love the philosophy they use. Shelly, Mr. Brian and the rest of the staff are very knowledgeable in tge development of children. They instill Respect, confidence and perseverance through games, structure and love. It is the most welcoming atmosphere I have ever walked into. A business can look great on paper, they can sale you an A+ program with their smile and words. But ultimately, your child will SHOW you by their attitude and willingness to trust their instructor. My kids would go everyday if they could. On a final note, my 6yo has Aspergers. By Roy11 Years OldStudent at FMAGreen BeltFamily Martial Arts is a great place. It is great for workouts, learn self defense, having fun, and being part of a team. I love going to training, and it is a great gift to learn Martial Arts. There are many reasons why, and I want to cover most of them in this review. Some of the reasons are: the curriculum, the instructors, and the training. All aspects in the curriculum are outstanding. The beginner belt training teaches students at a starting level. It includes the basic kicks, strikes, stances, and blocks. The Intermediate belts training add new forms and combinations. The advance training continues to prepare students to become black belts. The many instructors here are very nice and welcoming. Mr. Brian, the Sr. instructor, is very good at teaching new things.. Mr. Mark, the secondary instructor, is as great and takes extra time to teach students the new skills. The black belts students sometimes help out too, making it for a great team of instructors. The difficulty of the training is matched to the students level. This is an important factor because it help the student become stronger. The exercises in ‘strength days’ pushes students to their limits. It may be the hardest day of all, but it trains the student to persevere when things become difficult. There is even more to the place, but you just have to come and experience it yourself!Roy

The most difficult part to taekwondo is not learningthe first kick or punch. It is not struggling to remember the motions or becoming aquainted with Korean culture. Rather, it is taking the first step across the threshold. This class has also boosted my confidence, and I feel pretty comfortable with these fighting skills under my belt. Im not even much of an athlete, but the exercise routines conducted here encourages me to be the best that I can be. My physical skills have improved greatly since I first started attending this dojo. :)Not only do the instructors at this establishment tech you marital arts, they teach their students amazing moral values as well! Life lessons that pave pathways to an extraordinary future, giving students a code to live by. These moral values teach kids, and adults, how to be a great person and contribute to their community. Along with these moral values, the staff encourages and requires a friendly environment where judging is not tolerated. All students are excited to be there, and are proud of their achievements. The instructors encourage us constantly, as well as offering help when we need it. The whole dojo is a huge family!
