All around great school - Great teachers, staff and administration. We have been at the school for 4 years now and zero complaints. The school is well disciplined, extra activities that are free to students with clubs after school. Every teacher my 4 children have experienced from k-5 have been wonderful.

Personally I loved this school with all my heart and hope to someday teach there due to the amazing staff and the uniqueness the school has I went to Sunrise and it was a second home for me they welcomed me and my family when we fist got to Colorado and we said our good byes when we moved to Hawaii this school will always have a place in my through all the good and bad memories I made.

I put my special needs son in this school for the 2017/2018 school year. The special Ed teachers has no prior experience with special needs and have called me to pick him up when he is violent. This is part of their job, and is covered in the IEP. This school called social services on me when my son came to school in a jacket that was too small. When I called the Principal Amy Roden she couldnt explain toe how a too small jacket warranted a call to DHS. I will be removing my student as soon as I find a school that can accommodate his needs.

Sunrise Elementary has way too many children for the teacher to keep an eye on. When anything happens they call it hear say and punish both children. When we found another school for our child, they kept all school supplies and told us they were out of supplies. To make it worst they then tried blaming the child for the missing supplies. We left Sunrise after the first quarter. I think this school needs the supplies more than the child or the parents for the next school. Only good I can say is there play equipment is nice.

Very disappointed in this school, I used to attend sunrise when I was a little girl. So did my uncle, who got embarrassed by the teachers and ect. For being in a special needs class, not only did they announce it. They corrected his mistakes out loud, in front of others. Recently I moved back to Colorado springs, and my son now attends sunrise. His teacher is really sweet, but the office ladies are always smug and act like its an issue to do their job. Every time I go in there, theyve got nasty attitudes. Sometimes life happens cant always be on time, and when were a few minutes late. Theyve always got something to say about it, with their smug attitudes.. Instead of greeting you, and having a good attitude. Everytime I go in the office whether Im late or not they seem to have the same cold attitude. Not only that, but they seem to always need money to fund things for their school, never in life have I had my child or I myself be in a school thats always asking for money each time I turn around. Ive dealt with thyroid cancer, not everyone has money and everytime we turn around they need money for this and that. Im thinking about pulling my son from this school, the front office people are beyond rude. Not fit to be in any office, Ive walked up to get my son before and seen a volitile teacher yelling at a student. In a way nobody but a childs parent should. This schools staff is terrible, and I have never witnessed such volitile people with nasty attitudes. Students are corrected in a terrible and embarrassing matter, from things Ive witnessed. Highly disappointed! I love my sons teacher, but I dont think I will continue keep him in this school if theres always issues. The office is what makes the first impression of the school, and theres nothing but rude and nasty people working in the office.

This school was terrible. You got placed in advanced classes due to whetted or not a teacher liked you, not how you performed on grades or online assessments. There was one teacher Mrs.Tim and she couldnt stand me being right. She went so far one time, she MADE ME throw my paper jn the trash because i had managed to prove to her I was right.

3rd and 4th grade were amazing but in 5th ms.geick was the worst she would pour your whole desk out and laugh at you and would punish you for ANYTHING

My student was a student At Sunrise Es in WSD3, do not look for any support from the staff principal on down. A 5th grade teacher is immuned from her hostile abusive behavior towards the students in her class. we spoke up and were told we were a noboy and a nothing by assistant superindent of Instructional learning.I spoke with school board member Jim boudreau on March 10,2016 who informed me that No one would belive us over an educator who has 10-15 years experience, thats the way the sytem is set up, so he gave me two options1. was to remove my student from Sunrise ES2. to go back to school and act as though nothing has gone on and move on.The Due Process is a jokeThe Sex Co-Ed Educational video is a nightmare for your 10 year old male student. The Consent form states that El Paso County Health Dept approved this Video, however I sopke with a representative who stated that the EL PASO County Health Dept has no knowledge nor has it approved this video.The representative was unclear as to why WSD3 would name them as approving this video.I Do know Assistant Superintendent of Instrctional Learning Connie Florell had no knowledge of this Executive change Sunrise had made to its health SexEducational program, true statement.So if the assistant Superintendent did not have knowledge of this change I strongly believe the Health Dep had no knowledge of it either, however I will get to the bottom of this fiasco as well WSD3 will have a lot of explaining to do.Put ur complaints in writing give one to the principal and drop one off at the central admin superintendent office.You will not hear back from them ur student will be beaten down because they cant get to u so they harass bully and make. ur student life unbearable. You not know what lengths they will go to discredit u and ur family.Make no mistake when Mr. Boudreau said they will not belive uso ur next step is the OCR of Education. a lot of work but well worth the time. WsD3 lets u belive you have no rights and maybe so but it will effect thier funding status.record record all communications and documnent all incidents you will need this info later on.so now you know the deal with WSD3 like so many before me.
