My son started at the end of a school year and the staff at MSGA have been amazing! They have made him feel welcome and walked him through every step of his new learning experience. I was concerned that he wouldnt be able to adjust to a vastly different structure for learning but he has blossomed! While many schools have begun to advertise that they are working on social and emotional growth in addition to academics, MSGA actually has a plan and executes social and emotional learning in addition to academics. We are so lucky to be a part of this school!

MSGA is an amazing school for gifted learners. It has been such a blessing for our daughter. She has gained a love for reading and a joy for learning because they make all learning fun. Also, the way they interact with the kids makes them feel valued. Best decision our family ever made!

Mid-south gifted academy is so much more than a school. It is a what any parent would dream of for their kids, a place where their kid is treated with love and respect in joyful environment. Kids are challenged intellectually, physically and emotionally. My kid is so excited to go to school everyday, which make me so happy. I feel fortunate to have found this school.

This is our first year at MSGA and I am very pleased with the schools holistic approach to learning that goes well beyond what we were used to with public schools. Learning is tailored to the students needs and interests and the kids are active participants in shaping their goals and journey. Teachers/guides take a deep personal interest in getting to know and understand kids and help them succeed. They have also done a great job making the environment as safe as possible with a terrific virtual set up, outdoor classes and social distancing and masking up indoors.

Our 7th grader is in his second year at MSGA, and we couldnt be more pleased with his experience. The individualized approach to math and language arts allows him to move at his own pace, while group history and science projects challenge him to collaborate with his peers. He looks forward to school every day and has made many new friends. He also loves the outdoor classroom and park space, and Friday lunches in the historic square. The teachers and staff are top notch, too!

MSGA is the long lost place that I was looking for! Finally, after years of searching, a teaching environment that focuses on learning. My son never adjusted to traditional school teaching methods and that drained his passion to learning. So if you are looking to get out of the traditional system and you have a smart kido who always did things differently, this is the place to be!

As a parent and an educator, it was disheartening to witness an otherwise happy child, dislike school to the point he needed stomach medicine daily. The Mid-South Gifted Academy has been an absolute blessing to our family. He enjoys attending school and a spark has been ignited to be a life-long learner.

This is so much more than a school! The educators at Mid South Gifted Academy are concerned about the whole child - mental, physical, and emotional. They greet each child in the morning, and allow them space to learn in an experiential way. The children are guided, not taught, which allows them a sense of independence and great reward once they meet their goals. This is the best investment we have made in years!

Mid-South Gifted Academy has provided exactly what my two children, with different strengths, need in an educational environment. During their first school year, I witnessed my children blossom and become excited and joyful about learning again. Smiles and the spark of joy in their eyes were daily affirmation that they are in the right place. They used to get off the bus with a litany of complaints. Now, I pick them up and hear about Ancient Egyptians, coding, the stories they are writing, and countless ideas about everything! Their sense of pride in their schoolwork is palpable. Seeing them learn the social, emotional, and academic skills they need to be successful in life, not just school, brings a sense of peace to my mind and my heart. I am confident they will both reach their full potential at MSGA.

This school is a perfect fit for my daughter. We love how she feels comfortable bringing her full range of abilities to the classroom and how the teachers encourage her unique gifts and are constantly challenging her further. The best part though is that they know her and see her truly. The teachers and administration are sincere and aligned with their mission. This is the real deal.

Both of my kids flourish at this school even though they have opposite personalities and different interests. MSGA let’s them focus on their strengths while also setting goals and developing in other subjects. I love how vested teaches are in the kids success. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to move my children to MSGA.

The highest praise I can give a school is this: all three of my children LOVE school. I have a child in each of the three studios, and each child feels loved, challenged, like an integral part of the community, guided and respected. They are strengthening their character by developing grit through challenging work and high expectations, and all of my children have already surpassed my yearly academic goals for them. (Fun fact: they have not yet surpassed their own yearly goals for themselves because they are also learning the joy of working hard toward a lofty goal.) Character is further strengthened by the attention to social/emotional issues that arise throughout each day. The guides have (and take!) the time to help children learn to handle social and emotional situations both independently and with help from an adult as needed. My children are learning strategies to help them calm down, honestly talk with friends through conflicts, manage frustrations with team members, and that kindness is everything. My children wouldve been fine in a traditional school environment, but watching them grow and bloom in this supportive place is a joy that has changed our lives. We love MSGA!

For the first time in my son’s academic career, his eyes light up to go to school. From the individualized learning plans, to the professional & caring guides, to the atmosphere, MSGA has provided my son the best environment to thrive. My 7th grader had decided every school should be just like MSGA!

I wish I could put into words how much we love MSGA. We chose this school for our two boys and could not imagine them anywhere else. MSGA gives children the ability to learn at their own pace instead of at their grade level standard, which is so crucial for gifted learners. In addition to their core subjects, they get to delve into topics of their own interests. This environment creates such a zest for learning. Both of our children have shown tremendous academic and social growth since August. They LOVE going to school now, and every single day they come home saying their day was amazing. We love MSGA!!

Our son is excited to go to school everyday now that he attends MSGA. He is allowed to follow his passions (math and computer programming) and really focus and refine those skills daily. My son used to get low conduct marks at his old public school for being disruptive (due to having to sit and wait for everyone else to finish or just doing repetitive work), and he no longer has behavior issues. He is constantly being challenged in all subjects, and we are told works extremely hard and diligent everyday. Even when the work is challenging he still enjoys doing it, because the guides at MSGA spend a tremendous amount of effort finding how each student works and learns best.Fields trips are also more than just the standard repetitive field trips he used to have. They are unique and occur almost once a month. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to send him to MSGA. Every guide/teacher and administrator here is helpful, loving, and truly understands these amazing kids.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about MSGA. My son has grown so much academically and personally in one short year and absolutely loves school. We love the guides, leadership and vision of MSGA and highly recommend.
