My wife and I visited almost every preschool in Charlottesville. Our kids have been here for the last four years, and we couldnt be happier. In addition to the beautiful grounds, it was nice to discover the UVA professor and leading Montessori researcher in country sent her kids to Mountaintop.

Our two children have happily attended this school since 2008. We were looking for a school that would encourage our boys to become life-long learners. This school has encouraged them to become thoughtful, curious, and engaged students who deeply care about their world. The faculty and teachers are wonderful. Truly a place of grace and courtesy.

We love Mountaintop. Our child has been there since the toddler program. Mountaintop has helped her create a foundational love of learning. Beyond the superior academics and beautiful spaces, Mountaintop’s approach to conflict resolution, teaching inclusion and focus on taking care of the environment are a rare find these days.

We have now had two children attend Mountaintop. From day one it was apparent that this Montessori school took pride in their teachings. Their toddler program is hands down, the best in town. For our oldest it helped grow her independence, it encouraged her to become comfortable with herself and her surroundings, and the guides nurtured our child’s growth along the way. Our youngest just started but we are sure that we will see the same growth.

Children thrive at Mountaintop Montessori. I have three children who have attended and they have enjoyed their time each year. The teachers and staff are authentic, attentive and caring. The grounds are beautiful. They provide a Garden to Table program that allows the students to grow and cook their own food, Montessori Model UN for the middle school children and multiple parent education speakers with a very active Parent Association. I couldnt imagine my kids anywhere else in Charlottesville.

I have been an educator since 1996. I happened upon Mountaintop Montessori when searching for a part time job (2001). Before I knew it I felt as if I had found the right place at the right time!!! I trained to become a guide (completed 2008). My daughter is a graduate of Mountaintop and the philosophy has been an important part of my work as well as my family. I couldn’t ask for a better place to work as I see and enjoy the “fruits of my labor” in the children and the coworkers on a daily basis. My wish is that every child could experience what we offer and if not at Mountaintop (of course my preference) then somewhere.

I cannot speak highly enough about Mountaintop Montessori. The guides are attentive, loving, and invested in each child. We have had a unique experience with needing some adaptations for our childs physical needs. Mountaintop has not only been willing to accommodate, but also very understanding, patient, and compassionate. We feel like they are our family, and our son thinks so, too. This is a school that truly loves their job of developing and nurturing our communitys youngest learners.

My daughter has been attending Mountaintop since 1st grade and she is currently in 7th grade. She has loved every moment at Mountaintop and never wants to be absent, even if shes sick. Mountaintop is more than a school, its home away from home. Everyone (teachers, friends, staff) has become extended family. I cannot recall an incident where my child has been bullied or felt unsafe, unheard, or disrespected. The teachers and staff are very responsive whenever I reach out, so I feel heard and respected as well. Even with a campus full of children, the atmosphere is always calm and peaceful. The schools I attended K-12 felt like prisons, and I felt like a prisoner. I imagine my life would have been very different, and much more enjoyable, if I had been given the same opportunity as the children at Mountaintop. I wish every child, and parent, could experience a learning environment like this.

The toddler program has been an amazing experience for our family. The guides and staff are wonderful, and the classroom, materials, and outdoor space are set up to provide an enriching learning environment for little ones. My daughter absolutely loves it!

Truly a special place where our children have flourished. The Mountaintop Guides have nurtured their love of learning and the curriculum has developed their critical thinking skills. Everyone at the School cares about the development of the whole child. We love Mountaintop!

I have two boys who have attended Mountaintop Montessori for the last 8 years. They are challenged, taught to respect their environment, helped to grow their independence, and most importantly are happy to go to school each day. Mountaintop is a beautiful community!

We LOVE Mountaintop Montessori, the environment is ideal for children’s learning and development of new skills, confidence and Independence. The community is great, is our school family! My daughter loves her teachers, friends and all the school administrators.

Our son attended Mountaintop from Children’s House through Middle School. When he headed out into the world of high school and college he was extraordinarily well-prepared for life in general as well as the academics ahead. At Mountaintop, in a Montessori environment, he was given the time he needed to grow as a lifelong-learner. One of the first comments we heard from a high school teacher was, “We love having Mountaintop students – they are not afraid to ask questions and love to jump into subjects!” He graduated with honors from both high school and college and has now followed his passion to a career that he can’t wait to “jump into” each day. We will forever be grateful to the caring, talented and professional staff at Mountaintop for giving our son the best education for life!

My children have attended Mountaintop for five years, and we are thrilled with our experience! Each faculty and staff member is so passionate about Montessori education and meeting individual needs of each student. Our kids have learned independence, a curiosity about the world, an understanding of the importance of kindness and respect for others, and a love of nature from this wonderful school. They can’t wait to get to school each morning, and we drop them off each day with a peace of mind that is absolutely invaluable to us as parents.

The first time I stepped onto Mountaintop’s campus I immediately noticed the joy the children expressed while working and the way the environments created a feeling of peace and order. I’m glad to contribute to a school that has such an impact.

My time working at Mountaintop has provided me with refreshing and educational insights. I continue each day in learning how this experience has changed me for the better.

Mountaintop has been a wonderful learning environment for my daughter! We love the child-led learning and independence that the Montessori method encourages and nurtures. The garden to table program, Spanish, Art and Mindlab co-curriculars are amazing and enhance the learning opportunities in a very holistic manner. Additionally, the teachers and administrators are top notch and lovey to work with, and the campus grounds are dreamy. I can’t say enough about this school!

Our child is upset when she has to miss school! The way that they approach learning is unlike anything Ive experienced. The children find passion and stay passionate about life.

We cannot say enough great things about Mountaintop. We thoroughly researched the options before selecting Mountaintop, and we have been thrilled with the decision.

There is no place like Mountaintop! My children have been at MTM since they were toddlers and I cannot imagine our family anywhere else.
