Dont let them take your money because what they do is bring a whole lot of students in while being under staff with instructors so you want get enough drive time practice so be careful with how you spend your money with them but they have good instructors they are still under staff and good at taking peoples money so be mindful.

I went to this school coming straight out of prison. I took what I was able to learn and graduated the class. I’m now working and making 50k a year starting out. Every company/ school or whatever you can possibly leave a review for will have its ups and downs. If you go to this school and mind your business you will learn what you need to and move on to the next best thing. Roscoe the manager will work with you the best he can. Some great instructors that I liked were Micah, Rick, Ray, and Sabrina. You got exclude the personal stuff going on there and just remember what you are there for.

Dont even know where to start here. Took 8 weeks for a 4 week program. Many people take longer. You do not go out on the road in a truck until at least 4 weeks (5 weeks for my class). You do not practice with any loaded trailers, you dont do blindside backing, you get no practice coupling to trailers, and you are not taken on any major incline or decline. Pretty much everyone coming out of the school is a major road hazard. They blame all delays on the DMV when in reality it is because they spend too much time arguing about the proper way to teach things when only 3 instructors have it right. Every student has their permit by week 3 so why are they there for 2-3 months? Their biggest issue is they care more about the money flowing in than the students flowing out. They will bring up to 10 students a week in and only 5 students will go out which causes massive lines for trucks. On multiple occasions you will stand outside for 8 hours (they took the chairs away) and only drive once IF you are lucky. The pretrip has about 100 items on it and you only have 30 minutes a day to study it. If i did not have a background in the industry and a chance to practice at home I would no doubt be there still. Forget getting a refund. They do not care about time lost, they do not care if you have rent, mortgage, a family or a car. For them to claim to be the best school in the country is disgusting and a disgrace to the industry. Save your money and go to the FTA in Asheboro. Absolute circus.

I just wanted some information on weekend classes, I had a 4:00 pm appointment for something they could have told me over the phone. I live in Charlotte NC, so I visited the one on Hovis road in Charlotte. Not welcoming and very unprofessional, once they found I was only seeking information they were dismissive. They instantly asked for my driver’s license, I said I was there to get information, they both smirked at each other and said “what information do you need” by then I’m over it and really didn’t have the time for stupidity. The manager or whoever contacted me and it was the basic customer service spill, and he was more worried about me leaving a review.

Charlotte Truck Driver Training School provided me with a hands-on, small class size experience that I am sure I would be unable to find anywhere else. Being a family-owned operation sets this school a part from the rest because every class feels customized to your needs. I would highly recommend using this school to anyone wishing to obtain a CDL. Theyll have you trained, and highway ready in the blink of an eye! Plus - the new Volvo truck is awesome!!

I thought it was a good school. I was fortunate enough to have Micah as a field instructor and Gary as a driver instructor. Both of them were outstanding with regards to their professionalism and job knowledge. Equipment is a bit dated so thats why it isnt 5 stars. Its Monday - Thursday 730am to 6pm so makes for some long days. The course takes about 6 weeks to finish as well.

Great school!... Everyone there were professional... If you run into any problem Gino and the rest of the staff are approachable and will take every problem seriously and professionally... The trainers who are on the yard and on the road are very knowledgeable... I made an excellent decision by going to this particular school... They constantly have companies that are looking for drivers come to the school.. so if you cant find employment after you graduate you cant blame the institute.. would recommend anyone to attend this school.

Awful experience, I was promised 4 weeks of school and it turned out to be 9 weeks because they didnt have enough instructors, equipment etc. Absolutely poor management.UPDATE: If you cant provide 4 weeks of training - do not advertise it. As simple as that. Otherwise it looks like you are running a scam. You can run around with long line of explanations why you advertise 4 weeks but in fact it takes 10 weeks in your school - bottom line - you fail to provide what you advertised. In my case - you kept explaining that you had not enough trucks/instructors and too many students. Why you do that - either poor management model or intentional misleading false advertisement. You decide...

The school is good. But, beware of Lonnie. The guy is a total prick. He dont care about nobody else other than himself, he even admitted that to me. I confronted him about his attitude and took it to Gino. Gino said he would talk with him, the guy needs more than a talking to. He suppose to help the students, not talk to them like theyre garbage. All the other instructors are okay, but Lonnie, I think you might want to think twice before doing a road trip with this guy. Be better to ask Gino for someone else to be your driving instructor plus examiner. Im not the only person Lonnie has mouthed off to, Ive heard there were others. Anyway, best of luck to whoever goes here, great place. Just keep your distance from Lonnie, hell be nice at first, then a total prick the next, Im being honest, totally not safe with this guy.

I was in this school for about 12 weeks and I was a full time student. Mondays through Thursdays. Unfortunately I tried to test on two different occasions after my hours. Am told I didnt pass the PTI on 2 different occasions. If I had known I would have gone somewhere else to train. The present and only examiner cum instructor here is very sadistic and wants to fail you at the slightest opportunity.Am an immigrant and I went to college and had degrees.i have done over 100 written college exams..telling me I didnt pass PTI for a second time is the worst experience I have ever since my years in the US. Personally I will want to say their teaching and training methods is obsolete and ill equipped and they make the whole truck training and driving unnecessarily difficult.I regret wasting my time attending the school for complete twelve weeks when they claim it only four weeks.

Best school in town. Talked to all the schools in Charlotte before coming here. Instructors are great. Do plan to be there for at least 5 weeks. Remember that trucks break down, you might get sick, or the weather is unpredictable like snow in March, and some holidays come up. Dont go in with an ego and youll be just fine. Leslie, Lonnie, Ralph, Don, and Richard great guys with experience ask them anything and everything.

I went to this school in 97 and Im sure everyone there then is probably retired now. It was worth the money many times over. My salary doubled after getting my CDLs. Now Im making 4 times as much as I made in factory work. My suggestion. While youre at it, go ahead and get your hazmat and tanker endorsement. Theres a big pot of gold in petroleum. I work with guys making $90-$100k a year. Im not exaggerating. I make $70-$80 but thats my choice. I work fives days on three off. Thats another thing. Good drivers dictate the terms of employment. But you got to prove youre good. This school is an excellent start.

Do not go to this place youre going to waste only time for almost two months waiting for an appointment and the day of my appointment I did everything right and the man who examined me said that I did not pass the pre-trip inspection test, now I have to wait almost two months again for another test, if you do not want to waste your time it is preferable that you go to another place where they take you seriously.

Here at CTDTS we train over 300 drivers per year, and have been in business since 1971. While we strive to make everyone happy, sometimes it seems it is quite impossible. But hey, out of the thousands and thousands of happy customers that have come through our school, and only a handful of bad reviews, I think we are doing pretty darn good!

Let me get this off my chest, My experience with this trucking school (CDL) was amazing.. These instructor that run this trucking school on the weekends are amazing they answer all your questions that you ask them. Let me start from the top.. Miss Donna that sits in the middle desk is a terrific lady she goes way and Beyond to help you out. Lets start with Mr Leslie, I couldnt ask for a better instructor to teach me what, I need to know to learn how to drive a 18 wheeler amazing dude. He was there at the beginning till the end when I graduated .. he loves to teach everybody thats willing to learn .The next person I want to talk about Mr. Lonnie. I couldnt ask for a better instructor tohelp me out from the beginning to the end keeps it real with you .When you mess up, but he will help you fix the problem, so you dont make the mistake again.👍 Lets get to Richard, he went out of his way to help students.I was very impressed. If you need to get your CDL A this is the school to go to.. very professional from the beginning to the end when Miss Dona gives you your diploma from graduating from the school. Reply to jack leg!Instructions were read during test, pre trip was passed and you failed your backing. Per the contract you are given 6 attempts with a valid permit, license and medical card, however your 2nd permit expired Saturday the 30th and you tested on Thursday the 28th. Remember a permit will last for 6 months.

I personally had a time with 45 degree backing and coupling..but I wanted my CDL so bad, I went in on additional days, went early or stayed late with the instructor, he believed in me...well because of that. .Im out here with 5yrs OTR SOLO driver, no accidents, by GODS grave and some of the extra pointers the instructors enforced. .Thank you CTDTS !!! cam I come by and visit while on hometime 1 day?Im 1 of your VERY PROUD STILL TRUCKING STUDENTS****
