My wife and I have taken (and continue taking) several classes from Clayworks. I cant say enough about the quality of the classes, the instructors, and the space.Theres a real camaraderie between fellow students and instructors alike, no matter what skill level you are. With such a welcoming environment, dont be surprised if you find yourself spending more and more time there, either in classes or working on your projects.I honestly cant recommend these guys more highly. Whether youre toying with the idea of working with clay (clay curious, as they say), or are an accomplished potter, check out Clayworks. You wont regret it.

I booked a private lesson for my boyfriend and I and I cannot say enough great things about our experience. Susan helped me booked it and was so accommodating the whole time since we had some scheduling conflicts. She was super helpful and gave me so much information about the lesson and worked really hard to find an instructor for us around our schedule. I gave her a reference photo of a piece that I was in love with and wanted to recreate, she made sure our instructor (Carey) knew that was my end goal for the class and really encouraged me that they would try to make it happen for me!When we got to the class our instructor Carey was so friendly and knew exactly what I was there for and structured the class around making sure I was able to make the piece I gave as reference. She did a perfect mix of teaching the basic techniques along with helping where she could to make sure I was happy with the end result. My boyfriend and I were truly impressed with everyone at Clayworks and will be recommending them to everyone, 10/10!

Ive taken two classes here. A handbuilding and a throwing.Ive been extremely disappointed here. During my handbuilding class I was given a porcelain and told it was a white clay. Everything I hand built fell to pieces and this wasnt caught until the end of the class by the instructor. I also initially told the handbuilding instructor that I was interested in throwing. She then brought this up multiple times in class and tried to make me feel bad about it.The classes were extremely rigid and had no sense of fun.The instruction was not what I was hoping in terms of for making an exciting and creative environment. On another note the studio charges a lot for firing. A single mug costs around $6.00 to get fired. This has been a major deterrent from getting any pieces completed. They measure by the inch and send you an invoice for every piece. I have no idea why they dont wrap this cost into the class.Ive been throwing for three years and this is the first time I havent gotten a single piece completed and havent enjoyed a class or studio. There are a lot of good studios around. Id highly recommend checking another one out.

Friendly instructors. I would recommend written down instructions for beginners classes. Also a warning to wear older shoes as well as clothes since both get clay on them in a class.

Clayworks pottery experience was amazing. Starting with Ms. Susan, she was very professional and kept in contact and communicated with me right up until the day of session. Molly, our instructor was very knowledgeable and made sure to make us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Overall the experience was a lot of fun and a wonderful birthday surprise. 😀
