I am a former Admissions Representative and I love this college. The Administration is caring and all about what is best for the student. Ms. Phyllis in Admissions is inspiring and kind and is the first to arrive and the last to leave EVERYDAY! It’s because she cares so much. I just adored working for her. Jerry Moore is a phenomenal leader and knows every student that has graduated from the college, even from years and years back! It is quite remarkable. He takes an interest in their future. He is one of the finest, fairest and hardest working Executive Directors I ever met! I just have so much respect for him. I think what prompted me to write this review is because I witnessed first hand that this school cares about the student. This is s great college with so many great leaders( too many to name them all). The graduates really make great money when they leave. I miss working there and miss the positive working environment that has been created there. I am retired now and will always remember how wonderful they were to me on a daily basis. You can’t go wrong with this school. It’s a winning college degree!

Currently Enrolled I hate that I invested 50,000$ in this trash of school. Equipment is real old and the Director gives me weird vibes. He is too involved I think he forgets we are grown. He has a bull mentality which for me I am figuring a way to go to another school because they are liars. The career services department doesn’t get you a job to almost two years after you graduate and it’s more like 50 a year mot 76 a year. False advertisement. The Director of Admissions very inappropriate tried flirting with me. Just overall real uncomfortable

The school is all about milking the students for money and provides subpar teaching. Class schedules change daily making it hard to plan the rest of your life. Teachers quit all the time, communication and organization is almost nonexistent and they apply arbitrary and overly strict rules as if these students aren’t adults paying for this school on their own volition. If you can find another school in the area, do so.

Its alright, When I first started I had high hopes and I focused on my studies. Ive been here for a year and Im looking for other schools to transfer. You come here to learn and its hard when they are constantly getting rid of instructors and replacing them with others, I honestly dont know if train them before starting or if they are okay with the intstructor having an A&P but Ive had about 5 terrible instructors who where the replacement of others. I know they are great technicians and they know what they are doing, but teaching people takes skill and Ive had instructor literally loose tests or not offer me the tutoring they so much offer and the directors and coordinators arent the best at all, you feel like your in elementary school cause they are like crazy strict. Ive seen peers get kicked out for their kids cool calling them cause they are sick and you just see one of the directors coming to kick you out and sending you home, Ive seen peers get kicked out of class cause their credit card didnt go through and you just hear the drill seargent coming to kick you and interrupting your learning. When I heard that our school was going to stay open as we where going through COVID19 I was honestly worried but determined to go through with it. every single aviation school has closed, even embry riddle and they LOVE to use the same excuse the FAA has forced us to go by this. So if its the FAA wouldnt you think that all the aviation schools would be open and running? they said online first which thats 100% fine but then they dont seem to realize that not all employers are giving us the schedules the we want to come in whenever they tell us cause sometimes they tell us a day before. I could say so much more but at the end I always try to remember that im here to study and get a career out of it, but sometimes the people who run this school make it terrible. So if your looking into being an A&P look at others schools even If they tell you at AIM that they have better ratings and the better school cause at the end it depends on you.

They have a good program for those who want to go to school. But working there is not pleasant. The director of Admissions is very fun acting, almost bipolar. She talks about all the people that works under her like they are nothing. There is basically no training, they expect you to know what to do even if you never worked in Admissions. They did not make their start, and the pep talk was very negative, it went as far as they were not good enough, that they were not good enough. Very stressful workplace. They set the national reps up for failure because they want you to contact new inquiries 3 times a day but when you receive 85 or more in one day there is no way to contact them all. Other admissions reps were not very helpful probably because they were too stressed out as well but only talked about it in their offices. They try to intimidate people to keep their employees in line, it didnt work with me, I not easily intimidated. I was told I had an attitude and I needed to take my edges. Very unprofessional

Very disappointed with the communication from this school. My son really wanted to attend this school for his career. Make sure you ask very specific questions when you go in for an interview for admissions. On our first visit we were told the cost of the program which was fine but, more importantly we were told they accepted the Florida Prepaid College Funds ... which we had purchased many years ago for our son. This led us to a second interview because we were made to believe this was a viable option for our son. Our mistake was not asking specifically what that entailed and no further information was offered. We were not notified at this first meeting that the school is a Private school and were simply led to believe that Florida Prepaid was accepted for the whole tuition. No further explanation was given until our second visit when they explained that they are a “private school “ and that Florida Prepaid would only pay up to $116 per credit hour whereas the school charges much more per credit hour therefore only approximately 1/3 of each credit hour would be covered by the Florida Prepaid funds that we purchased. Our son was invited to apply for a federal grant and was not eligible because his parents income was taken into consideration which should not be considered as he is an adult. We left feeling very frustrated.

I am currently attending this school. After reading all the reviews on here, I can attest to some of the things that have been said. However, this school is overall a great school to get a foot in the door of the aviation industry. Sure, some of the instructors have different methods of teaching, the administration side could use an attitude adjustment in some areas, but you cant let that become an obstacle. The TRUE obstacle is the curriculum they set before you. If you buckle down, study, focus ONLY on the curriculum (not the drama), and truly understand the material - you are golden. It is an easy program to work through. If you are looking for an A&P school that is affordable (and actually teaches you what you need to know to be successful) this is the place. How do I know? Because Ive served in military aviation and I thought I knew enough to thrive on my own...Boy, was I wrong. lol ... Dont hesitate on a good future - execute!

This school is here to teach you the basics and to enable you to obtain an entry level job in the field. My experience was that it provided everything I needed to know to pass the test, it provides extra help for tests before school, to get you ready for your FAA tests. As far as I can tell this school goes above and beyond what it must do to help its students succeed!

I currently attend the school and have nothing but great things to say. The instructors are great and the learning environment is good. A lot of hands on training as well as tutoring if you need it. This is definitely a school that only will teach you if you take it seriously, everyone must take it upon themselves to learn how to be a mechanic. The rewards are great after you are done here!

Im not gonna stand by and let people knock the school that has enabled me to change my life for the better. Ive been around the block with schools and understand personalities can conflict, conditions arent ideal, etc etc. You show me a perfect school and Ill show you a perfect school! Every single school and institution will have its flaws...Those flaws build character. If your going to pass judgement. ...pass it with all irrelevance set aside. Does AIM have good instructors? Yes. Does AIM push out A&P mechanics? Yes, and some of these people who put in work are as smart as they come... in my opinion. Yes, you will probably be able to pick out a problem or have some negative talk in your ears. Thats life and humans like to gossip and complain ...its in our nature at times. Its everywhere. Really shouldnt entertain the complaints because the school is secure in its spot. However, there might be some fresh high school graduate out there, who loves aviation, that could pass up an opportunity(anyone)....Overall, I am happy with my time at AIM. I recommend it to others! Im anonymous and dont have any incentive...this is real and genuine talk. Aviation all the way

This institution deserves a 0. The faculty is a mess. They’ve messed up on my paper several times and now due to them I cannot finish my last 5 weeks. Every month is something new with the verification once it’s completed they tell they something the verification for another year. I’ve paid money to irs to amend taxes for the last 3 years And school then tells no they need something else. Mr Moore is rude, prejudiced And disrespectful. They think this grown are children. We sacrifice our time and families to finish this money pit and they honestly should be closed.

Ive researched this school since 2012 and decided to attend in 2016. The only thing which is out of anyone control that is overall disappointing is the lack of seriousness from all students. Otherwise overall it has been a great experience. I had a few setbacks due to my children however theyve been very understanding. I would recommend this school to only the serious because you can never get the time back which was spend and it would be upsetting to spend that time on foolishness.

There are so many wrong things about this school its hard to know where to start. When you inquire for more information about the program you will instantly be bombarded by calls, texts, and emails from the admissions reps. Their goal is to get you into the school for whats called a Career Planning Session. They give you all the info about the program, price, provide a tour of the facility and tell you that its a recommendation process to be admitted. You will be told you need to earn their recommendation to be admitted but thats not true at all. As long as you possess either a High School Diploma/GED and can pay the 50K tuition, youre accepted. Expect to be pressured to start immediately by your admissions rep as their jobs are quite literally on the line if you dont. Even though they have classes that start every five weeks they will make it seem like the other classes are full or unavailable when that is simply not true. Its all a sales gimmick. The program is 21 months and costs roughly 50K. The equipment in the hanger is older, run down and mostly purchased at junk yards, scrap sites. The instructors, however, are really good at what it is they do & thats probably the only saving grace the school has. Some of them (the instructors) have been there for a long time but many others come and go when they get a taste of Mr. Jerry Moores abuse cycle. The courses are difficult but not as much if youre mechanically inclined. The real issue happens in placement. Lots of students finish the program but dont ever take their exams to get licensed to work on the aircraft. Without getting your FAA Certification (the whole point of the program), you cant work as an airplane mechanic. Those who get certified and take their exams, the school is excellent in finding them jobs. Anyone who has a criminal record will have a impossible time finding work in aviation.Bottom line, the admissions department is full of car salesman promising to help you change your life when all they care about is your enrollment to save their job. The Director of Admissions will tell you how great you are, how hard it is to get recommended into the program and anything else necessary to make you enroll. The Campus Executive Director is awful and abusive. Not only to the employees but to the students if you make a mistake, get in trouble, etc. He screams at the admissions reps, calls them names and once even told me Im very successful and youve never been successful at anything. He doesnt even know me.There are other schools that are CHEAPER with NEWER equipment (school in Kissimmee, Embry Riddle, National Aviation). This school is a scam and every day I wait to hear karma has come and its been shut down. Im embarrassed to have them on my resume and to this day I feel awful for all the potential students (and actual students) I had to promise the world to so I didnt get fired.I recommend doing your research before coming to AIM Orlando.

Professionally unprofessional, dont talk to your classmates about being singled out because of their level 2 infraction they can kick you out for up to 2 blocks. They will bring you to their office and tell you that youre breaking the rules even when you arent. there are 2 types of instructors here, the ones who are here to teach, and the ones here to make you time out. The same goes for Administration. The Director of education who oversees the students and assists them in their studies will nod at you at everything said and nothing gets changed. You pay $200 a day for a teacher to tell you do not have the right to go to the bathroom. I expected a school where i wasnt treated like a child but thats exactly what you get.If you still go here the books we buy are free on the FAA website and the $700 computers are refurbished $200 laptops. They want to squeeze every last dollar you have out of your pocket.

Horrible upper management, Mr. Moore is a tyrant and a bully of a director, and very nosey. He tries to impose his own issues on others. I am a veteran and he treated me like trash while I was there because I had issues with getting to school. Car issues that I could not pay for at the time as well as mental health things going on. He was very condescending and offensive. I got my 8610s signed off, and will get my A&P license without this school.

Had an interview here. When I got there the managers were very interesting I should say lol. I understand when you have an interview people can question you about relocating or how long you been in the area. But to tell me to go back to the state I live or to ask me during an interview what is the real reason you are down in this area is it to talk to girls?, is unprofessional. I didnt even want to work here after I was interviewed. Very nosey staff and questionable professionalism lol!
