Awesome members and teachers who are motivated and driven to learn and teach. Spectacular exercise I am down almost 30 pounds in 5 months. Myself and my 9 year old son joined and it has been a great bonding experience. There is no striking or hitting, so for me being in mid 40s, very little risk of getting hurt. Feels great to push myself and be in a competitive fun atmosphere.

My experience at black tie jujitsu was one that I honestly will never forget it was such a welcoming and friendly environment I’m a purple belt who visited my family from the East coast I needed a place to train. Was visiting from out of town, and I highly recommend this gym. If youre in the area you can definitely get some good rounds with good partners here, and it was a really welcoming group of people. Solid coaching as well, definitely picked up a thing or two. I was visiting from out of town and reached out to Black Tie jiu jitsu to get some training in. The head coach and owner, Corey, is super friendly and down to earth. He has a great group of talented beasts on the mats. The environment is great, with welcoming people who train hard. I was getting destroyed from the 10 min rounds, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I highly recommend visiting these guys if you’re in Cape Coral.

I came to train at Black Tie BJJ for a few weeks while visiting and I was very impressed with the level of the coaches and students. Our son has been doing BJJ since he was 6 years old and it is the best choice we could have made for him. He also plays other sports but the ability to stand up for himself, the self confidense, respect and sense of responsibility BJJ teaches in priceless.We recently moved to FL and tried Black Tie BJJ and I was pleased to see serious and pleasant couches, nice gyms. We are new to the club but Brayden has already learned new techniques and he is working on things he needs to improve.

I was on vacation with our family and called for a few private lessons. Professor Corey and Coach Robert were superb. Professor Corey caught me with three arm-in guillotines in five minutes - it was awesome (and then he taught me how to do it). These guys are top-level BJJ practitioners. I will be going here every year when we visit.

It could not get any better than this. The whole package including family friendly all the way up to so you wanna be a Viking? A truly respectful group of people. The culture here seems to feel like no matter who is rolling with who, Jiu Jitsu wins. No room for big egos. The coach rolls with white belts, just like it should be. They go to tournaments but nobody is pressured to go. They hold seminars but you can come if you want. Your ambition is your only limit with this place.

I’ve been training at black tie for a year and a half now, a blue belt transplant from Flint, MI. During my travels, I’ve trained at probably ten academies. This one is really good!Very welcoming, mats always clean, friendly. There are some killers here and people here for recreation/hobby/get in shape, too. They make all feel welcome. Just good people! Little bit younger crowd than some places, which I think keeps it funner! Don’t get me wrong though, old guys /gals welcome too,lol! Also no contracts, just month to month. Nogi focus, but gi is trained as well.Professor Corey Brown continues to compete at high level tournaments and has a wrestling and MMA background as well. Leglocks are a focus of mine, and he is an absolute expert and great teacher of leglocks. Very knowledgeable in all aspects of BJJ, and excellent at conveying the information. Rolls with all level of students, constructively or hard (if you prefer).There are 2 brown belts that teach some classes and roll with all, as well - both excellent instructors! Can be some tough rolls right there, haha! Both great athletes, with extensive knowledge. A big part of the team, and are much appreciated.Striking classes here, too, are excellent.Can’t say enough about the place.Current location has no showers or lockers.

Teacher Robert,..is a brown belt, excellent teacher with Juvenile, he is a Five Star as well as his Partner, Brown belt also.....Four star goes to The place, is small, crowded, Six seats for parents, some will like to see their children preforming however no seats. Another thing kids to change belts it might take more than a year.

High quality jiu jitsu at its finest. Corey is one of the best grapplers in the country, let alone Southwest Florida. He is a routine competitor, putting his money where his mouth is, so to speak. He maintains friendships with other high level grapplers in Florida and has been known to take his students with him when travelling to Miami. Robert has a way of communicating with grapplers of all ages and runs a very tight kids program. I am over the moon happy to call myself a member of the Black Tie family.
