I attended the 12 week training and I learned a lot. Jamison is amazing at teaching and how he breaks down makes it so easy to understand the scene better. He would give each of us personalized feedback and have us try again after the feedback. Because of his spot on feedback and also the breakdown we discuss in the class, I felt so much better on the second try. The class was small and plus we got to work together outside of the class so we got to know each other well, which is really nice to be able to connect with fellow actors. We are done with the class but we still communicate with each other! Jamison makes the class fun and friendly. He is easy to talk to and he patiently answers all the questions we have about acting and the industry. I highly recommend it!

I wish I had taken this class YEARS ago. I learned so much really valuable information about a skill that is absolutely necessary in Los Angeles. Ive practiced self taping on my own, and that is a huge help, but at some point I felt like I maxed out on what I could figure out on my own. Jamison had so many tips and techniques that I had never even considered and I feel like are making a HUGE difference in my self tapes.

This is not just another on-camera audition class or scene study. Over the 12 weeks, you will build your technique piece by piece with a new understanding of how to tell the story within that tiny frame! We can work on making strong choices all day, but Jamison teaches specific techniques that make those choices shine. Especially with self-tapes and Zoom auditions, these tools will help you show your character and tell the story in the most impactful way possible. Class size is limited to 7, so you get some one-on-one time with Jamison every class. He even sends you written feedback with your 2 takes!

The How to Stand Out On Camera: 12- Week On-Camera Audition class at the LA On Camera Training Center is a fantastic experience. Over the twelve weeks, Jamison teaches you how to give consistent, powerful, emotionally driven actualized on-camera work that will give you the edge. You receive varied TV and Film sides that expose you to creating spaces/characters outside the frame, working within the frame (with and without marks), and delivering performances that prove you have made character-driven and story-driven choices. I got to perform in front of the camera twice every class and received the optimal amount of critique and praise. Jamison sent me (and my classmates) the recordings after every class and notes to help build on the work. I could see myself improve week after week.If youre looking to book jobs, you have to have an effective audition. And, if you want to have an effective audition, you have to take this class.

LA On Camera has the absolute best training for anyone pursing a career on film or television. In the How to Stand Out On Camera class, Jamison Haase demystifies the audition process, and gives actors the tools to craft connected, compelling and competitive auditions. With their classes now exclusively online, actors have the opportunity to really get comfortable with their self-tape set-ups from home, while working on their individual strengths and weaknesses over 12 weeks. I came out of this class feeling empowered and more confident to take command of my audition, and I no longer dread self-taping. Highly recommend.

Taking this acting course was one of the best decisions I made in pursuit of a professional career in Hollywood. If you are serious about your journey in the film industry, as an actor, or even a Screenwriter/Director, I earnestly recommend taking a course with Jamison Haase at LA On-Camera Training. You will learn an astronomical amount about both the art of acting for the camera, and more importantly, invaluable insight about how you express yourself. We are our own worst critics, so watching yourself on screen will help you assess whether your performance was true to self, honest in its vulnerability, and natural to the camera. It helps in seeing what types of roles you should be looking for while providing you with detailed instruction into how to fine-tune your camera performance. Honestly, I have no regrets and am so grateful for having taken the Drama course with Jamison. If you are looking to improve your performance skills, look no further. Jamison will provide you with genuinely critical, professional and educational instruction. Sign-up and see results - I know I did.Nothing but love for the L.A. On-Camera Training Center! This is so much more than an acting class. Both Jamison and Jackie are experienced working actors who are consummate professionals, excellent teachers (both classes and individual coaching) as well as masters at script analysis, camera technique and engaging story telling. I have taken a number of the courses at the studio as well as Jamisons ongoing weekly class and I am always inspired by how his simple yet specific advice transforms the quality of every scene he works on. I have taken many acting classes over the eight years I’ve been in LA and I always return to this one. It never disappoints. On top of that, both Jamison and Jackie are lovely people who are dedicated to their work, are extremely easy to work with, and love actors. Decided a long time ago I am only taking on camera classes with working actors who also find the time to teach. Best decision I ever made to choose this place. After taking many classes around town, Jamison taught me many things Ive never learned before. You get instruction on script analysis and camera angles you wont find anywhere else. Jackie is brilliant and breaks down comedy using a super specific and effective framework you wont find anywhere else. Also, both never sugarcoat anything but, at the same time, clearly have great faith in their students. As actors, they know how to talk to actors. The prices are comparable with anyone else in town, but you get so much more for the money. Plus, you always get your footage emailed to you with additional written feedback so you can remember what to work on. They do offer a $10 class so you can check it out. I did both the comedy and drama 12 week intensives and highly recommend it.

Ive taken many classes at various studios in LA and this was the first time I found a studio that I feel 100% comfortable and welcome. I love that there are a limited number of slots per session so I always felt I got my moneys worth and was in front of the camera for a good amount of time. All too many times, Ive been in classes elsewhere that have 18-25 people and not only does it feel impersonal, but I feel like I dont get as much attention as I should. Our class had four people. Its incredible the depth that Jamison goes into when critiquing a scene and he never comes off demeaning or disrespectful. Ive noticed a difference in my auditioning since and others have as well. I’ve been taking acting classes here for years. Before that, I tried a dozen other LA acting schools. Without a doubt, Jamison and Jackie are the best acting teachers — for two reasons. One, because they’re focused specifically on acting *on camera*, which requires specific techniques that cannot be learned only from theater acting (respect). Two, they complement each other’s strengths. Jamison is number one when it comes to performing dramatic scenes on tape. And Jackie’s unique philosophy of on-screen comedy acting deserves a book if not a worldwide recognition. With the predominance of online classes and casting directors watching audition tapes exclusively on take, there’s simply no better place to grow your acting chops than at LA On Camera.

Today was my last day of the How to Be Funny On Camera course with Jackie Geary, and I truly have nothing but amazing things to say about it. My classmates and I were even sentimental and sad that it felt like it ended so soon (after 12 weeks!). Another thing I loooove is that the class sizes are limited (no more than 5 people for this particular course), so we really get specialized attention.I have taken a lot of different sitcom-based classes. Im familiar with all the character types and archetypes of comedies and some of the technical tricks and tips of how to navigate the world of sitcom. This is by far the most challenging sitcom class I have ever taken, which I appreciate!Jackie has a unique perspective on comedy and is so talented in the way she is able to break down characters and scripts. She does a great way of not sugarcoating and giving great notes to her students. Her techniques are nothing like other classes Ive been to previously, and it makes me so happy to be able to add such strong skills to my toolkit!I can type my thumbs off with all the great things I have to say about Jackie and her class. During this time at home, I knew I wanted to start taking an on-camera class. I came across La On Camera while searching and, being from New York didnt know much about it. But this class was 12 weeks for a better value than any 4-6 week class I found. I knew I really wanted something in-depth, specific, and unique. So I went for it, and that is exactly what I got! Jamisons intro class was everything I was looking for, and was easily translated over Zoom. The approach is clear, and was truly a much needed reset for me after years of agonizing over technique and actor language. Jamison gets to the heart of the characters, and the focus is always on what is happening in the scene. I learned how to control my physical habits, grab the directors attention in a self-tape, and how to create a full story with only a 2-page audition side. This class has transformed me as an actor, and I finally found an approach that is focused on the meat of this work: the hows, the whys, the what ifs, what looks good, what doesnt, no fluff. Jamison is kind and takes his time with each students notes and takes in class. Every voice is heard. Take this class! I cant wait to take advanced!

Of all the acting classes I’ve taken in Los Angeles, the ones at LA On-Camera have been my favorite. I’ve taken both the comedy class with Jackie and the drama class with Jamison and both were equally fantastic. The class sizes are small so you are constantly engaged for the entire session and get to work multiple times per class. And besides being amazing humans, Jackie and Jamison are extremely talented and knowledgeable about the industry (both working actors). This school seems to attract good people and I have yet to come across any ego driven actors in my time there. Everyone really is supportive and rooting for each other to succeed, which is very refreshing in this town. My class with Jamison was mostly online due to COVID-19 and the transition was pretty seamless. I cannot say enough good things about LA On Camera Training Center, Jamison Haase, and Jackie Geary. I come from an extensive theatre background and I have never felt as confident on camera as I feel on stage; until now. Jamison taught me the technical tools I need to make me feel like a seasoned TV and Film actor. He helped me to understand camera angles and how the frame factors into the choices I make in my performance. To be honest, I never really understood what it meant when directors or acting teachers would say to me, Make strong choices. Now I not only understand what it means, but I am also 100% capable of making those choices and delivering on them. I feel amazing, inspired, and incredibly confident after having completed Jamisons 12 week class, and I will continue to study with him as he is now my corner man. In my head Im Rocky and hes Mickey. I am also currently in Jackies single camera comedy class and let me just say that not only do I feel like my head is going to explode in the most amazing way possible, but I also have learned how to dissect scripts through stage directions (I learned that from Jamison too.) Jackie has come up with a comedy game that is so brilliant that I cant stop playing it. Really. When I am with friends and family (or even strangers) and we all laugh I can tell them why we are all laughing! Its amazing. It has helped me as a writer too. If you are looking for professional training that is actually useful towards your career then look no further! LA On Camera Training Center has all the tools you need to apply in both the audition room (on tape) and out there in the real world on a professional set. My first 12 week course was How To Stand Out On Camera. Each class we dove right in to work and would go in to the room audition style and tape our scene. Jamison would then give us excellent, in-depth feedback and we would tape again with the adjustments. The structure of the course is intentional as it builds upon the process of stillness and effectiveness on camera. Its because of this class that Ive gained confidence with my work in front of the camera. I also am not attached to the sides anymore as that used to be one of the BIGGEST things blocking my performance. No longer are my sides a crutch, I trust in myself enough to just be present! Jamison truly teaches you how to stand out and how to make BOLD choices on camera by simply exploring and committing to the depths of your imagination. The mantra that stuck with me most, that he spoke often in class, YOU ARE THE SHOW! Who would have known acting could actually be fun again!? Lol! Jamison is not only a teacher but a mentor in the way that he offers himself, fully and truthfully. Ive reclaimed my power and given myself permission with the help of this course and have gotten more callbacks than ever because of it. The LA on Camera course is essential for anyone looking to take their auditioning skills to the next level. It not only helps you to become more at ease during an actual audition but it also teaches you how to break down a scene and set yourself apart from everyone else auditioning for the same role. Jamison is an excellent teacher and he holds back nothing in the way of his tricks of the trade. You feel as though a friend is there to teach you everything he knows. I recommend this class for anyone who is looking to take their acting/auditioning experience to the next level!

I have been a student here for going on 7 years. Ive been in the On-camera Comedy class with Jackie and I havent stopped learning. Jackie has a very detailed technique on the way to mine a scene that yields the greatest amount of laughs and is a sure way to stand out in an audition. Like I said, Ive been with them for 3.5 years and specifically in the ongoing class for 3 of those years. Jackie and Jamison truly care about their students. Each class size is very intimate and they seemingly double as career coaches. Whether it has been advice on a specific Casting Director workshop, or coaching for an audition, they treat you as a friend and not just a student. They SO want you to succeed. The prices are reasonable at $300 monthly tuition, and you can even try each class for a $5 intro try-out before you fully sign up. Besides being great teachers, they are great people that have a passion and decades-built expertise for the craft. It would behoove any serious actor to take a class from either of them.

It’s rare today that people REALLY execute excellence in their daily jobs/duties. But going to Jamison’s class, I really felt appreciated not only as a student but as a professional myself. Because of him demanding professionalism and excellence himself, it made me want to match up. And because of that I gained much confidence in myself as an actor and as a person. Very pleased and very excited to continue my studying at this school. It’s teue what they, you become who you surround yourself with. So I surrounded myself with professionals and positively energetic individuals at this school and I watched my own magic unfold. It’s been a phenomenal journey. I took Jamisons How to Stand Out on Camera class and I swear it changed my life. My friend recommended the class, and she was so right! We worked on some really challenging scenes and some really fun ones. (also challenging, haha) The class helped me break a lot of bad habits (awkward facial movements/eye-line work/improved creating the environment, etc.) and we worked together as a class to discuss what needed improvement in each one of us. I never felt judged or criticized, but everyone was very honest about what I needed to be work on. VERY creative & helpful environment. I liked that it was a small class because I didnt feel like the Training Center was just trying to make money- I got a lot of time dedicated to my work each class-more than any other class Ive taken. I know Jamison cares so much about sharing his experiences and training in acting with all his students. If youre looking to improve your technique on screen, or just want an extremely helpful once-a-week workout--this class is for you! Ive already told a bunch of my actor friends about it.

I wish I found LA On Camera four years ago when I moved back to LA and started my career over again. My background is in the theatre and graduated many years ago from Julliard, but through all that, I didnt have much training on camera nor any concentrated on camera audition techniques.I audited many different acting and camera classes in LA but there wasnt one that answered the need I felt to really explore and improve not only my on camera acting but my on camera auditioning skills.During the very first class, I realized Id found my acting class home and my teacher. There wasnt one class in our twelve week classes that I didnt have an epiphany.Jamison is not only very knowledgeable from a technical place but has learned every bit of it from his own experiences in the past.As a teacher, he is involved, incredibly passionate about what he teaches, and I felt truly seen, as a person, a fellow actor and a student; my learning and growth mattered to him.I will definitely continue taking class and continue to work with Jamison and I hope too, to now take the Comedy On Camera class as well. I took the 12 week on camera acting course at LA On-Camera Training Center, and I miss it already. After studying theater my whole life, I finally decided to take the plunge into film, and I can honestly say this class changed my life. Not only did I fall in love with acting on camera, my confidence onstage and in real life skyrocketed. It was terrifying not having immediate audience feedback, but I quickly learned how to trust my instincts and let the camera do the work. Every student gets on camera twice every class, and the feedback is positive, encouraging, and honest. It was really great getting to see the progress from one take to the next. I absolutely loved learning from Tamika. She was fierce and passionate and truly wanted us to succeed. Working with Jamison has been one of my favorite parts of moving to Los Angeles. Although I had years of theatre training and experience on stage, I felt uncomfortable and nervous in front of the camera and it definitely showed in my very first take. Throughout the weeks I saw improvements little by little in the takes we would watch and critique during class and every week, my confidence on camera grew. Now that Jamsion taught me the foundation of what it means to act on camera, I am comfortable going into an audition and knowing how to properly prepare before hand to make my audition as strong as possible.I highly recommend taking Jamisons How To Stand Out On Camera class, especially for other actors like myself who recently moved to LA with a strong background in theatre but were clueless as far as what to do when the camera started rolling!Jamison is a great teacher and is encouraging, but most importantly, he is HONEST! I just completed Jamisons How to Stand Out On Camera class and WOW! I have never been excited to audition or felt creative in the audition room before this class. I used to always go into an audition and think it was enough to be memorized and present with the reader and hope they just liked me. Now every time I get an audition I know how to break down the script, use the script to give me information not only about the scene and characters but about what size of a performance i should give based on how far along the scene is into the show/movie. Why its important to ask about your frame size. Also! I am excited to show the CDs proof of what I have learned in class last week and I say to myself Oh! I can use this technique Jamison just taught me for this audition! He discusses body language to show a characters emotion that can come across in your auditions thumbnail before you even say anything! You are already crushing it even before you speak! And lastly one of the most beneficial things for me was learning how to create the environment of the scene and live in the life of the scene when you mostly in an audition only have a camera, maybe a chair and a reader 6 ft ahead of you primarily looking down at their own pages. Seriously take this class, it will make you feel like a powerful actor in control of your audition. I cant wait to continue on!

I absolutely love taking classes and having coaching sessions at LA On-Camera. Jackie and Jamison are amazing teachers, and also really great, down to earth people, which is hard to find at acting schools in LA. Its the first place that Ive taken a class where the teacher doesnt go on and on about their career accomplishments. Jackie and Jamison are both currently working actors, which I think is very important. The industry has changed a lot in the last few years, so having people who are currently in it, auditioning and booking roles, really helps.I took Jackies On-Camera Comedy Class and it was awesome. The best part about it is that you get to see yourself on screen twice a class. You prepare the sides like you would for a normal audition and do it at the beginning of class, one person at a time, alone in the room. Then, the class watches the auditions back and Jackie breaks down the script and you discuss different techniques, etc. that will make your audition as successful as possible. Then you have time to work on it, and go back in and audition again. You get to watch yourself right away and see the things you learned put into practice immediately. I learned so much! It made me realize that my on-screen type is drastically different from my on-stage type which has really helped me go in the right direction.I also do coaching and taping sessions with Jackie and Jamison whenever I have a big audition or self-tape. They always find little things to make me stand out. I think theyre a big reason why I just booked my first network co-star part.I cant say enough good things about this place! That one bad review at the bottom of this page is an absolute joke. Im almost in the belief that its a fake person posting as a competitor because shes downright lying about the class.First off, The class is not $900 a month, thats a bold face lie. Its only $250 a month for a once a week class for THREE AND A HALF HOURS! There are classes in LA that charge twice as much as that for an hour a week. Dont believe any of that foolish nonsense.Secondly, He doesnt teach you tricks to fool a casting director or any nonsense like that, he teaches you techniques to make yourself look better on camera so a casting director or producer WILL cast you.........thats what you want as an actor right? To get cast in projects? I can personally say Ive got cast in 3 different projects since Ive been taking his class, one of which was a leading role.Lastly, you wanna know why he doesnt get a lot of students coming back? Because they get cast in roles and start working! He does however, always get students to come back to film self tape auditions or his on-going advanced class, for example me. I always come to Jamison if I need a self tape audition. Hell make you look your best in the tape!Jamison and his wife Jackie are nothing short of first class citizens. In a town where lots of classes and acting coaches are scams, Jamison Haase is NOT one of them. He is a deeply passionate actor and cares as much about you doing a good job in your career as he does his own. I would recommend his class to anyone who wants to further advance his/her career. This is by-far one of the best (if not the best) on-camera classes in LA. I have taken literally dozens of other classes over the years, and none of them compare.First of all, the class size is kept very small so that each actor gets to work twice and get invaluable feedback, individually tailored to each person. Jamison is a working actor himself, so he really knows what is happening in the industry, and he knows how to improve a performance.Secondly, I dont think the one star reviews are real people. The classes are $250-$300 a month, which is industry standard. In fact, considering his level of expertise and the tiny class size, it really is a bargain.Thirdly, Jamison is a standup person. He is just the right combination of warmth and professionalism. (What the hell is Vanni Vanni talking about? I am a young woman and at NO point did I ever feel ANY weirdness. He is just not that kind of guy. At all. Ive met that kind of teacher. Jamison is the opposite. There is no way Vanni Vanni could be talking about the same person.) He truly cares about his students improving so that they can book work. There is no ego with him. He makes it about you, the actor, getting better and better on camera. Thats it.I HIGHLY recommend him if you want to improve your on-camera work.

Right to the point – ohmygoodness – Jackie Geary’s 12-week comedy technique class is amazing. And that’s the point – technique. You think you may be funny but until you can put words and concepts around what you’re doing, you’re really only seeing the half of what you can do (if you’re even getting half out of yourself). To tighten up and finesse – and to even know what to do at all – takes your work from “cute” to “HAHAHHAHAHA”. It’s a joy.Jackie has a system for figuring out what’s the best/right character for a scene and then build your performance from there, all guided by the tools she has – and there are many. She’s a working actor (in comedy AND drama [BOOM]) and watching her demonstrate these techniques is like watching a very funny magician shuffling their deck – what card will they pull? WHOA! That’s card’s hilarious! Truly. Which brings up another note, Jackie has a great sense of humor, so you really are having a great time while learning and seriously, what’s not to love about having fun learning about comedy? Nirvana. I’m excited to keep working with Jackie.

Wow, how is it that I am the first to review this Center and Owner as long as it has been open? The owner of LA On-Camera Training Center is Jamison Joel Haase, born April 19, 1974 in Cedar Township, Minnesota.First of all this guy and his courses are in a a league of unprofessional vulgarity all their own. It just one big, fat, joke! He should be added to the list of money grubbers in California. He claims no one else teaches what he does and here is the reason why…the courses suck. He not only does not teach any technique, he teaches tips and trick so that perhaps you are noticed more by casting personnel, based on how you turn your chair (bwahhaaaaaa). He charges $900 for a one month class that meets only once a week. You are not only being robbed of your money’s worth, you can find much better courses for less money, and meet more than once. He is raping other actors from their hard earn money. He believes he has to make a living by stealing from starving artist and he certainly does….steal, so that he and his comedic wife (thats a joke too) keep up their standard of living. He never gets repeat clients and you really won’t learn anything useful so avoid him at all costs. The wife....is just as bad as he is (be sure and look at the types of people that come into her class). I hope he feels good about himself (his own sister doesnt even speak to him) in the way that he runs his business and the things that he is doing….which is not teaching.Don’t believe me, be sure and do your research, check out his $5 class first to save yourself the aggravation, time, hassle and most of all money. Oh, he also recommends subscribing to his amateur videos on his website, another way to suck up your money. He always thinks he is right and that he knows more than anyone else (yawn). I kid you not; he is a waste of time..A WASTE. There are much better teachers who enjoy helping students than gouging them for their last, starving artist, dime.

I am currently a student at this training center and I honestly cant imagine better training for me than what I am getting right now. As an actor straight out of theater (and rusty due to time out of the industry), I found myself feeling a bit unnatural acting on camera. Some people are just born ready for the call of action, but sadly, im not one of them. Jamison has been helping me for well over 1 year to refine my techniques and get that laser focus for the details of creating a story in pictures. A lot of acting schools will give you the tools for character development, but this school is here to help you utilize those tools specifically for the FILM medium. If you are looking for an acting 101 class, this isnt the place for you. But if you are an actor with the tools in your belt but needing that guidance on how to nail it in the room or via self-tape, this is where its at.If you are curious about the class structure for the adv class, here is a rundown:1) We shoot our individual scenes, 1-on-1 like a real audition.2) We come back together to discuss, we watch the scenes, then we receive our adjustments.3) We shoot the scenes again and work a few key moments.4) Watch the adjustments and discuss our improvements.Thats a pretty basic layout of what we do and what it means is that we spend a lot more time on our feet and training, less time sitting espousing about the arts. (But, that can also be fun too!)I want to take a moment to address some of the negative comments Ive seen written on this page. I have been working with Jamison for well over a year now and hes been nothing but professional, courteous, and freaking awesome. The weekly classes are affordable (ranging $225-300/month and lasts for 2-3hrs). Ive had workshops that charged me more for just 1 day of class, let alone a month. The classes are also quite small, I havent been in a class with more than 5 of us in a room. That means we get up on our feet and we work 1-on-1 A LOT.Also, a critical review should detail strengths and weaknesses of the teachings. I really wonder if these people even made it beyond the $5 dollar class because there is NO mention of what Jamison or his wife actually teach. The negative reviews Ive read hardly tell anything about the actual class and seem more focused on ad hominems and vague anecdotes, all of which were pretty outrageous and honestly slanderous. If you want to go IN on a class because you think the teachings suck then do it, but whats with the personal attacks? To me these are red flags and make me highly doubt the merit (and motives) of certain negative reviews in and of themselves.Overall I encourage my friends, and other actors I meet, to try this place out. Check out the Yelp and Facebook if you want a larger pool of feedback. There is no once size fits all acting course, but for $5, I think its worth coming out and finding out for yourself. I attended a $5 class back in Oct 2014, its 2016 and im still here. I think that speaks volumes.
