I had the best experience joining this school. I had some martial arts exposure in childhood which was almost forgotten. Joining the school brought back all the fun, confidence and fitness for me. School staff are amazing and hard to find elsewhere in the US. Grand master Kim is a role model in all possible ways. I took some Stretching classes that Jinyan taught on Sundays. I was always WELL stretched afterward. I pursued Yoga later on when I left Boston and met many yoga instructors. I never found a similar experience and carefully designed sequences of posses as what Jinyan taught.

Ideal place to learn martial arts or exercise! Very friendly and cooperative environment. Very professional techniques. Coming here is almost indispensable for me to maintain healthy mentally and physically especially in this pandemic time. Its so fortunate to learn from Master Kim and other instructors, who are all great mentors.

My 13 year old son transitioned from other branch this spring and has since then been enjoying and inspired by Grandmaster Kim’s instructions. We are truly amazed by Mr. Kim’s passion and close attention he shares with all his students both onsite and online (at the same time!). It has been a great, positive experience!

I started practicing a year ago after my son started classes and love it. The practice space is huge and there are usually kids classes happening at the same time as adult classes, which makes it convenient for families. There are also lunch time classes during the week. The instruction is top notch and all the instructors are friendly, knowledgable and approachable. Master Kim also teaches almost every day and is phenomenal. There is also light sparring on Weds and full contact sparring on Friday nights, which Ive loved and would recommend. Every class is different and Ive learned something new every time Ive stepped on the mat.

My son started learning Taekwon-do and I started mainly to encourage him. When I started a year ago, I was not sure how long I would do it but now Im sure that Ill continue for as long as I can. It has been a great experience learning a new skill, improving my fitness level and interacting with a great group of like-minded people. Its also making my son more disciplined, focused and motivated to work hard. Grandmaster Kim and all the other instructors are amazing and continue to provide individualized tips and encourage everyone to do better. Really glad we joined this school!

Been a student here for many many years and never ceased to be amazed by the personal attention given by the instructors, first and foremost Mr. Kim himself. Its an all inclusive family friendly environment where students of all ages and skill levels can experience the benefits of self-improvement and have fun at the same time!

Awesome teachers in a cooperative, friendly environment

Being a member of Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do Institute has been one of the best experiences of my life. I joined the school in 1992, and continue to learn new things all the time. Great place to learn the traditional martial art and its practicality in self-defense. Good exercise and fun too. Very fortunate to have Grand Master Kim right here in Boston.

When Charlotte and I joined the school 3 years ago, I wanted Taekwondo to help her build confidence and discipline; I was excited at the idea that I would also learn something while she trains; and I was secretly hoping that in the long term she could defend herself, so I would not have to worry that much when she will be out in the World. The school exceeded my expectations by far.I did not expect that the expertise, grace and humanity shown by the teachers would emulate Charlotte’s best traits. I saw her persisting during a test when she could not break a board and ultimately succeeding. I saw her training sometime for more than 15 hours a week to be ready for her black belt test, and always with a smile on her face. I saw her helping other kids learning their forms. I saw her socializing with confidence with every kids and adults in the club. She deserves a lot of credit, but the school was instrumental in making her a better person.As for me, I got the chance to progress with my daughter. Overcoming the same hurdles, at the same time; learning our forms together; struggling with the same kicks. Testing for the black belt together is now one of my most cherished memories and, for that, I am very grateful.

I cannot begin to describe how much of a joy it is to be able to walk through the doors every day and see so many wonderful people, students and instructors alike! I have felt so welcome as soon as I walked in to observe a class and fell in love immediately! I encourage everyone to come by and watch a class for yourself and get hooked on a great martial art with a great school and team :)

Fantastic school with top notch instructing! I love how many classes there are through the day and you can go and workout even if not taking a class. The school is so large with various spaces allowing for this.

We are extremely fortunate to have a school of this caliber in our city. Everyone here has been welcoming and friendly since I have started. This school of Taekwon-Do is considered one of the best in the nation and I have been addicted since the day I walked through the door!

I attended in my 20s and then had an opportunity to rejoin 20 years later to finish getting my black belt and continue forward. Have received excellent instruction and encouragement here, and have met and worked with great people of all ages. It is an excellent workout and something you can continue to build upon and learn about your whole life.

I attended this school way back in 1981. I only made it maybe 1 rank above yellow belt. I left town 4 good. But back then it was a really good school. It was tough to advance past the 2nd belt grade. You had to fight 2 higher ranking belts and show that you could really fight. I watched from the sideline and watched some pretty good fighters who could not advance because they did not have the right strategy to fight off 2 higher ranking belts and got their asses kicked. Still highly recommended if you want the real thing.

Excellent traditional Taekwondo school. Its a fantastic and supportive community of instructors and students working hard to grow and learn together.I think the highlight for me is the experienced instructors. They truly understand the individual needs of each student to provide assistance when developing techniques. Mr. Kim is a world-renowned instructor and is known all over the world and its an honor to train under him at the Boston headquarters of Jae H. Kim Taekwondo Institute. Ive been here for 3 years now and dont show any signs of stopping soon! :)

I attended the school 10 years ago after coming back rejoined and finish what I have started. Excellent staff, excellent training, excellent college, excellent leadership and special thanks to grand master Mr. Kim for explaining in details all the kicks. Its the real thing.

Kim who takes the time to show the secrets and details of each Form to all, no matter the level or belt color.My daughter, now a black belt, felt immediately compelled and encouraged to give her best. Unforgettable experiences!!

Both my son and I learn Taekwon at here for more than a year. We have a great time, and plan to continue our training for a long time. The teachers are all very very nice! The location is very convenient, but during RedSox season, the parking is very challeging.

Very impressed with the quality of training here at Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do. I always leave class feeling fulfilled because I know I am being taught tea-kwon-do the traditional way by elite instructors while also being surrounded by such a unique community that is always trying to bring out the best in each others abilities. JHK Institute is definitely the best.

This is the perfect place to learn the real Taekwondo, like how it was taught traditionally, and not just for competition. If you want to learn the techniques, this is the best place in the area and probably in the country (I have not much experience with other schools so dont want to say it definitely). Master Kim is a Taekwondo master and a great teacher. It is amazing how many classes he taught personally as a grand master of Taekwondo. Youll get personal pointers from him and especially for beginners its truly valuable. Those pointers can really go a long way even long after you stop practicing Taekwondo. If you want to learn more than just the technique, the way Taekwondo is taught here is full of oriental philosophy and you practice martial arts like you are creating an artwork, and you will find it reveals your aesthetics, your intention and other aspects of your inner self. The culture and traditions are well retained but with less rigidity. Master Kim is a very easy-going person and teaches every single student with radiant passion for Taekwondo. People here are all wonderful and welcoming.

I studied at the J.H. Kim TaeKwonDo institute for over five years. The teachers are very dedicated to their craft and the grandmaster is amazingly talented. In addition, all the masters are approachable and will always help you try your hardest and do your best. Loved this place and may return in the future if I stay in the area.

Members are from many countries and feel unique friendship. Teaching is scientific and content is diverse, not just TKD forms and sparring. You can learn stretching, endurance, muscle building, technics of other martial arts as well as real TKD.

Jae H. Kim is one of the most respected Taekwondo grandmasters in the world. He could have become a high ranking world Taekwondo leader but he loves teaching too much to leave his schools. His technique is of the highest caliber, he and his teachers are amazing, and I feel very fortunate to be able to study under him. He is as dedicated to teaching adults as he is children.I never thought of myself as a martial arts practitioner. My husband dragged me to the school, but I absolutely love it now!
