Both of my children have attended Bright Horizons at Mount Vernon Hospital. The staff is friendly and professional, and they work hard to keep the kids happy and engaged within a very safe environment. My daughter was extremely prepared for Kindergarten after leaving their program. My son is still there - we see new skills and vocabulary emerging every day. I highly recommend this center.

My son was in Ms. Ashleys and Ms. Christines class before the pandemic and I absolutely love them. I am saddened by the fact that we are not able to return. Being new to the area, and being reluctant at first, Im happy my wife and I decided to send him here. The love and care my son received from his teachers and the staff was amazing! I will say this place is a bit pricey but its worth it.

I cannot speak more highly of the teachers and administrators of Bright Horizons at Inova Mount Vernon. We enrolled our child when he was just 6 weeks old and he has been in the daycare for well over a year. The teachers foster such a nurturing environment and focus on interaction, engagement, play, and enrichment. Whenever we tell our toddler its time for school, his face lights up. One of my favorite things about this center is how proactive the center is with communicating to the parents and providing real and honest feedback of our childs day. They do an incredible job of using their daycare app to provide picture and note updates, as well as reminders of supplies needed that we are low on.My wife and I also never expected how much all of the teachers (even the teachers from other classrooms, admin staff, and the center director) know all of the childrens names and get so excited to see our child. It really feels like a family, and makes us so comfortable knowing our child is in such great hands! We highly recommend this center to any family looking for child care with a staff that strives to make your childs development and welfare their first priority! The only negative regarding the center is the price is high, but to counter, I feel you are paying for a premium service for your child. They provide all of the food, which is fantastic not to have to pack meals (we had to provide bottles when our child was breastfeeding), and they provide updates each day in the app so we know when our child eats, sleeps, goes potty, and provides pictures of play and enrichment activities). The center is located in the administrative section of the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital on the second floor. Parents have to first go through security (you dont have to check-in or anything with your badge) and there is both a convenient elevator or stairs less than 100 feet from the entrance. The entrance to the daycare is secured by a badge entry system so only parents with the badge that has been given clearance permissions have access to the daycare (along with daycare staff).NOTE: During COVID, all parents and children have to get a temp check when entering the hospital. Parents no longer are allowed to enter the daycare, but complete a screening in the app before arriving to make checkin a breeze. To address some of the other reviews I have seen, the daycare before COVID-19 allowed for any parent to show up unannounced at any time. The older classrooms are open and all of the classrooms (besides infant 2) are in a circle around the kitchen so anyone can see what is going on at any time. I have met parents from other classes and am a member of the parent guiding committee for the daycare. None of these issues have ever been brought up at any meeting I was a part of in the year and a half I have been a part of the parent committee. If they would have, I think ever parent serving on the committee would have demanded an investigation and action (plus I think the center would have closed down if teachers were yelling at kids and punishing in the way that is suggested, or many parents, including myself, would have unenrolled our child if we felt this behavior existed).I showed up unannounced on multiple occasions before COVID-19 and have never seen anything that described any negative sentiment. The admin staff (Julia and Toni) are wonderful to speak with and take their role and the wellbeing of the staff and children extremely seriously. They are in a tough position being able to communicate policy from corporate related to the pandemic, but have done a good job of keeping us informed as best as they can.Lastly, I cannot speak more highly of the teachers in the infant classrooms. They have been an ABSOLUTE JOY to be around and love seeing how much they enjoy being with our child. We enjoy seeing all of the other teachers as well and everyone is so friendly. We hope Matthew develops the same relationship with the other teachers as we continue to have our child enrolled.Review written 12/10/2020.

This is a horrible facility. They yell at kids and punish them.Punishment comes in different forms-they are not getting their food, or they are not playing with toys, but rather sit at the corner for over 30 minutes. Screaming at kids is just horrible, and it mostly affects toddlers who are not good talkers. My child used to go to toddlers and when I found out all of that was going on, I took her away as soon as I got the spot at different child care, but those months we spent over there were never forgotten. If MS Teressa is still working there, she needs to be fired and should never be placed near any kids. The director MS Julia who works there full time also could care less about those kids. The food that are feeding kids is pretty bad too-dry bagels and as soon kids finish them up only then they give them milk.Horrible, simply horrible place. Stay away from it!
