This was my 2nd lesson with James. This time I brought my Aunt and Brother! My brother is 8 and my Aunt... she’d rather I didn’t say.First James lesson on the beach was thorough but not boring. Showing us the basic of wave structure, surf etiquette, and then the proper way to stand on the board (pop ups).Out in the water he took time to work with us individually. Making sure we each caught a wave.My Aunt says it exceeded her expectations. My brother loved it. And I want to go again.

My girls just finished up camp W JC. This was the second summer and they are begging me to do another week! Amazing experience! Not only do they learn how to surf, but they build on life lessons. Thank you to James and his wonderful counselors!

My son just completed this first week of surf camp. I cant say enough good things about his experience. James and his team are super attentive to each individual kid. This was my sons first time surfing and he was the youngest and smallest in the group (age 7). He was able to stand up on the board on the first day and got more confident each day.Highly recommend 🤙

I and my husband took a private lesson from James. He is an amazing instructor and made us comfortable with the whole process. We will definitely come back and take a few more lessons with him.

James gave me the basics of surfing on the beach, it was super informative. He described each aspect of surfing in an easy to understand manner. Making sure I grasped each point. He was the first person to ever tell me what was happening under the water to create the wave. Then we did some board practice on the beach. He’s patient, kind, wise in the ways of surfing and encouraging. I’ve taken lessons 2 other times in my life. Both a number of years ago. James was by far the best instructor I’ve ever had.

I was so grateful for the attention that JC and his staff of highly qualified surf instructors provided for my son and his friends. They had an incredible week together, all enjoying awesome conditions at Wrightsville Beach. As a surfer myself, I am so glad that my son was able to hone his skills and further develop a passion for surfing. Thank you JC for providing a safe yet fun environment for Andrew to improve his surfing and build his confidence!

This is where you want your kids to go to learn to surf. All of the people I know who do and/or have worked at JCs are great surfers, plus they have a heart for caring for and teaching others.

This is my daughters second summer of JC Surf Camp and she loves it! JC and his instructors are so knowledgeable and friendly... All the kids enjoy the mix of surfing, games and more surfing! And great water safety tips! We will be back next summer for sure!!

My seven and ten year olds have loved JC Surf Camp! James and his instructors do a great job of making learning fun and exciting for the kids. They play games throughout the day that keep the kids engaged. Both girls want to go back again next summer! Highly recommend!

I cannot give enough stars to James and his entire staff - 5 is not enough ... this group of men not only encouraged my children (9 and 14 yrs. old and brand new to surfing and got up on their boards THE FIRST DAY) to be surfing, but they encouraged them to be better people. The quality of each of these men and women instructors is top, top notch. They are simply good, good human beings with such kind souls.The surfing ... I cannot believe how much my two children transformed in 5 short days. They now ove surfing, bought their first board last night, and cant wait to go out on the waves tomorrow (the day after camp ended)!James, Grant, Will, Pearson, Liz, ... and all the others ... thank you so very much!
