I cannot say enough nice things about this school! I was so anxious about sending my 6 week old to daycare, but the teachers and staff at Discovery Schoolhouse loved my son and treated him like family. He was always happy and well cared for. The teachers are professional and loving, and keep the rooms clean and tidy. My baby loved his teachers, and so did I! They do a great job keeping track of his meals, naps, and diaper changes on the app, and send pictures frequently. Discovery Daycare is the best I could ask for!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school and their staff! My kids love going there which makes drop off so pleasant! The teachers are warm and patient. They do a great job communicating with the parents. My 7 year old went to Discovery from the age of 2 until he started kinder. He was very prepared for kinder and knew all his sight words for the first semester. My 4 year old has been at this school since he was 6 months old. He is already reading, and I feel like he is prepared to start kinder next year! The same teachers that taught my 7 year old are now teaching my 4 year old! They do a great job all around!!

Great school! My 2 children have been going here for over a year. The teachers have taught them so much. My son knows all his phonics, alphabet, numbers, shapes, etc..... He is much more structured and will be ready for Kindergarten in 1 year. My daughter was potty trained in just 1 month and she is only 2 years old! We are so happy with their progress. Its refreshing to find teachers that care so much about our children.

Our older children (5,6,8,12) attended DSH as needed but our baby girl attended at the age of three months, on a full time basis. I was originally a nervous wreck putting her into daycare but she did awesome and THEY did awesome with her. The teachers, Director, owner, admins couldn’t be better and more professional, loving and nurturing. We are moving out of town, otherwise we would stay. I love love, love, love this child care facility. It was good with the original owners but is excellent with the new owners. I have never seen a daycare with such compassionate employees giving every child a personal experience, from the owner and front office to the class room minders. My son was once very unruly and threw tantrums but they were able to accommodate him while working with me to find solutions and the wonderful thing is they did not allow his attitude affect the other kids. All my kids attended that day care before we moved and I can say for a fact that the structure of their curriculum enhances performance in the schools because my kids got their foundation from there and they are both honor roll students in their school.I will definitely recommend this school to any parent looking for a place that will help their kids excel academically.

My child has been going here since it opened. Loves the teachers, has made many friends, and had learned so much. Couldnt be more prepared for kindergarten, the learning technique they use there is great. My child is always smiling and happy when picked up. Getting the most out of learning, socialization, building confidence, not to mention the lunches are well prepared and healthy. Im so happy we decided to have our child go here, its been a fulfilling experience from the beginning. I would absolutely recommend this place to any family looking for a dependable preschool.

I have 3 kids ages 5, 3 and 1. We send all 3 of our little ones to Discovery Schoolhouse and weve been there pretty much from their opening year. I will say that throughout the experience, they have been more than accommodating and attentive to our needs. Occassionally, you find the one odd teacher or aide that isnt working out, but those are few and far between for this school.The Director and Owner are always there and always willing to take in feedback and work with you as a parent on an individual basis. I put a lot of weight in that because that little personal touch goes a long way in making sure your kids are attended to properly. In terms of academic programs, I wouldnt know if they are top notch, but definitely above standards as Ive often been pleasantly surprised at the grammar and knowledge growth shown in my kids when they return home. They offer foreign languages as part of the daily program like Spanish and Chinese, rather than Spanish or Chinese, which is important to us as most kids now need to be multi-lingual.All their classes have cameras for you to monitor your kids activities, and everyday, when you pick them up, you can review their day through behavior clip charts, daily sheets, artwork in personal folders, and even a quick chat with the teacher in class.Their tuition and fees are very reasonable for everything you get. Overall, I would say theres a lot of value in what you pay for if you give your child a go with them.

Our son has been going to the Discovery Schoolhouse since he was 18 months old, and now he is 3 1/2 years old. He started his daycare with no prior knowledge of English, as it is not our first language. The first couple of weeks were obviously tough, but ever since he has enjoyed going to school. He has learnt many things at school, including alphabets, words, numbers, shapes, colors, objects, animals, rhymes, artwork etc. We are very satisfied with his overall development and compliment his teachers for all their hard work.

We have two children at discover schoolhouse including a baby. I cannot recommend them higher. The teachers truly love those babies and are constantly in communication with me about the baby, her day, and her needs. Our 4.5 year old will be more than prepared for kinder when she starts. She also gets Spanish and Mandarin language instruction. They have a good balance of play and academics and the management is very attentive and responsive.We have been at other daycares in the area. They do not hold a candle to this one.

We have loved our time at Discovery Schoolhouse, and we are looking forward to another great year next year! Our daughter has been there for two years now, and will be there one more year before kindergarten. She has had wonderful teachers who have really helped her to grow and flourish.She started in preschool one, and grew immensely that year. She learned so much (letters and sounds, colors, months of the year, days of the week, numbers, and more!) and was even writing her name by the end of the year. She grew educationally and socially. Her teacher was amazing and is still someone she talks about and goes to visit.This year, in prek one, has been fabulous, too! Her teacher has high expectations for her students and our daughter has definitely risen to meet those expectations! She is recognizing sight words, knows math facts, spells basic words on her own (correctly!), can count to ten in three languages, and much more! Her teacher has helped her to grow socially as well. Our daughter has grown in confidence this year, and we are so grateful!

I really liked this daycare. I particularly like that the owner works at the school. My only con would be the teacher turnover.

Absolutely amazing. The best preschool in Katy. ALL the teachers are extremely helpful and caring. I have 2 children- one in kinder now and the other in pre-k. they have been there for about a year and I regret not having them started at Discovery earlier. My kinder child found settling into elementary school easy -all thanks to Discovery teachers. Ms Jean (curriculum coordinator) has the best knowledge about education systems around the world and inspired my son to become a confident reader. Ms Swati -her passion for teaching is incredible and her science projects stay in the minds of my boys forever. Ms Laila and Ms Zee are extremely helpful and communicate very well.Ms Doris and Ms Lisa have an exceptional skill of settling and growing my very difficult younger son to a confident pre-k boy.Ms Sue’s Mandarin class is the cherry on the cake. I would highly recommend this school to all my friends and family.

Well. The review i am writing now is based on my personal experience. My son was enrolled here around Jan12. He was less than 2 yrs old when enrolled and was only half day program. The teachers he had then in his room were awesome but from the beginning i have had issues with front office. My daughter was enrolled for after school much before i enrolled my son. At that time itself i had bad experience still I did it for my son hoping as a daycare studen ( not as an afterschool student) the care would be much better and I was WRONG... Despite so many times informing front office to wipe my sons mouth after his food never ever heed attention to that. My mom was with us then who use to walk across from our house to pick him up and I already informed the management staffs about language barrier with my mom. So clearly informed them to call me / my husband if anythign needs to be commnunicated which again was never took care of. My son had 3 incidents ( 1 bite, 2 times fell down ) and none of the time we were informed but received note only once which they told my mother to sign. Since she obviously did not understand she brought the note back home simply . At the third time I was mad and called the owner & addressed all these.. He was nice enough to listen and promised that things would improve. When these things happened I wrote my review in Yelp which the owner did not take it very well. The next day when my husband went to drop off my son he called to tell us that since we wrote the review we should discontinue sending our son. My husband said its fine but you cant stop us from writing a review.1) Despite all the above they charge exhorbitant for no reason - Example one day i received a bill with $10 in addition towards my mom picked up my son after 5 mins than the regular time. First of all that is not true & moreover even if we run late for 5 mins one day will we be charged ? After I literally told the front office that I have no choice but to lodge a complaint against them for this fees, they withdrew the fees. Same manner they charged extra fees for my daughters early school pick up, though she was picked up on timeI have nothing against this school but this is my experience which is true to the word as it can be proven with all my email and phone communications i have had with them. Infact when I spoke to 3 other friends of mine who were in the market for daycare, they expressed the same opinion as the front office staffs were very rude and look like they did not care for the children.
