Worked with Scott of Sharp Focus 2 weeks ago today on a video for my in-Home Luxury Massage business. It was so fun, easy and creative working with him. He was professional, without being stiff, insightful, without coming across as a know-it-all, and keen-eyed, while still being able to take adjustment requests. I appreciate it a lot and my client/model also enjoyed her time there. She was very pleased with her look on camera. Thank you.I recommend and will be back for future shoots.

A wonderful place where creatives can collaborate, learn and enhance their industry skills. Everybody is friendly and helpful. If you need a quick refresher on how a piece of a equipment/software works or a intensive course on everything related to the entertainment industry this is the place to go. You wont regret it!

Scott and Dave are two of the best people when it comes to teaching. Their approach is fun and incredibly informative. Not only do they teach you strong solid basics but they teach you how to research new techniques that way when technology advances you have a way of keeping up. One could rave about the wonderland of knowledge that comes with the enrolment into this program but one thing I want this review to leave you with is the assurance that the instructors are that of no other! My favourite part about this program was that its an environment open to questions! The instructors want nothing more than for you to be fully stocked with the materials that gear you up to be apart of, or create, stellar cinematic and photographic content! I came in choosing to take the red pill and now Ive left feeling like Neo from the matrix! 10/10 recommend!

I’ve known Dave and Scott, owners of Sharp Focus, for many years now. They are great teachers and provide students fantastic skill sets needed in the competitive world of the motion picture/videography/media business. I was looking to do voice over for a short film and found Sharp Focus Creative Academy. I didnt have a budget so these guys helped me out a lot. Scott was great; knowledgeable and friendly. The location was really easy to get to down in Burbank. Apparently they also teach a lot of cool classes ranging from filmmaking to editing and they make it very affordable. For all you indie film directors out there who need some help or education check these guys out.

After being in this industry for over a dozen years so far, working at many of the top tier trailer houses in town, I can tell you from experience that the one thing that makes all the difference is the people you work with and the ability you have to trust them to get the job done. SCOTT GETS THE JOB DONE. Having worked many a shift into the wee hours of the morning side by side with him, Scott has dealt with everything from trailers for major studio blockbusters, to TV shows on every major streamer, and even smaller productions with companies you might not have heard of yet. All of these have their own unique problems that arise during the editorial and, if youre lucky enough, finishing process. From the bigger guys who have rules upon rules, spreadsheets, guidelines, things that must be followed down to the letter or be rejected, to the smaller companies that dont even know what quicktime is, let alone be able to tell you what specs they need to get their assets ready for air, Ive personally seen Scott tackle all of these situations and many more with knowledge and experience, a tempered head and more often than not a smile on his face. I have seen him train assistant editors in cut-throat environments where nothing but the best will be tolerated. He has trained entire trailer companies‘ editorial staffs to be able to actually understand and maximize the software they are using.
